Story
Welcome Leia to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Leia is a 5 month old pup that is Husky/Staffordshire Terrier. A picture of the mom and dad are available. Both are very friendly and social dogs. The pups would be good with children. Lia is the most shy of the 4 pack. All these pups are smart and willing to learn and work well when you train with them. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. The unspayed female was around the male and in just minutes she was pregnant with 10 puppies. These 5 are still available for adoption. All have had 3 rounds of puppy shots, microchipped and will be altered before adoption. Their mom is 65 pounds so we think these pups will be 65 pounds. They know sit, wait and are the ultimate water dogs. They like to play and swim in the foster’s swimming pool. They would all make great camping companions. They love other dogs and all people including kiddos. They have the bushy coat like the Husky and several of them have ice-blue eyes. Lia is the smallest female. She is a little shy but sweet and one of the more vocal. She would warn you if someone was at the door or at the fence. She is a nice girl and since he is the smallest girl we think he will for sure be 55 pounds. She is mostly potty trained but will need more consistency than the foster can provide with 4 puppies. They are good in a crate and in a car. They are currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get any of this litter (2 girls and 2 boys) to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. MEET NYX When the sun goes down and the stars come out, that’s when Nyx shines brightest. This sleek, black beauty has already outrun the darkness once — now she’s chasing a forever home that can keep up. At first glance, you’ll see those ice-blue eyes and that confident stance and think, “She’s been through something.” You’d be right. Life tried to knock her down — and she just stood taller on three legs. Nyx is proof that strength doesn’t come from what you have; it comes from what you overcome. She’s a Husky/German Shepherd mix (aka Shepsky) with the perfect combo of smarts and spirit. Quick to learn, loyal to her people, and always ready for adventure — whether it’s a backyard romp or a quiet night under the stars. Nyx may be missing a leg, but don’t tell her that — she’s too busy outrunning excuses. She’s looking for a home that sees her for what she is: A survivor. A shadow with a heartbeat. A reminder that beauty and strength can share the same soul. If you’re ready for a companion who’ll never back down and always have your back, Nyx is ready to light up your world. Story
Meet Echo Wren: A Survivor, A Hero, A Best Friend Echo Wren’s story is one of resilience, love, and hope. This stunning Husky mama was found locked in a trailer with no food, no water, and no fresh air, bravely protecting and nurturing her 8 puppies despite the dire circumstances. Her strength and devotion saved her little family, and now she’s ready to find a forever home where she can be cherished as much as she deserves. Echo Wren is more than just a survivor—she’s a gentle soul with a heart full of love. She’s fiercely loyal, incredibly smart, and has a playful, adventurous spirit that will light up your life. Whether it’s a hike in the great outdoors or a cozy evening on the couch, Echo Wren will be your steadfast companion through it all. She’s great with people, adores belly rubs, and has a soft spot for treats (who doesn’t?). Echo Wren is also a devoted mama, and her nurturing nature shines through in her interactions with everyone she meets. She’s ready to leave her past behind and embrace a future filled with love, laughter, and plenty of tail wags. If you’re looking for a dog who embodies strength, love, and loyalty, Echo Wren is your girl. She’s not just a pet—she’s family. Are you ready to give this incredible mama the happy ending she’s been waiting for? Echo recently had a day out on the town with one of our volunteers, and here's how it went: "If move-in ready was available in dog form, Echo would be that dog. Most dogs, when they go for a day out, are a little nervous about jumping in and out of a car, not Echo. From the moment I picked her up, she knew exactly what to do. She waited by the back door for me to open the door and jump right in and waited to be buckled up. Some poor planning on my part, but our first stop was a pup cup that was next to a construction area filled with people, but Echo did amazing!! She kept running over for pets, did not seemed bother by the noise or any one walking past. Just was quietly and excitedly observing. We did move to quieter area where she got to smell some flowers. Any time I would “baby” talk to her she would get excited and run and jump up for me to pet her. She loved the treats and I was able to pet her while she was chewing. After hanging out for a bit she moved over to a cooler concrete slab and took a nap, when I went to pet her, she rolled over and insisted I give her belly rubs. She may have fallen asleep during this! We took a walk through the woods which she loved. We stopped at one more location before heading back, which was a pretty popular park. Bikes and people were going past and she did amazing with all of it. Echo really just wanted love and attention. She did well with both males and females, noise and quiet, every situation she aced. She just seemed so happy to be in the spotlight." Adoption Fee: $250 Currently located in Fosters, AL and can be transported North to an adopter for an additional $200. Interested in adopting? Story
Freddy isn’t your typical rescue dog and that’s exactly why the right person is going to fall for him. Yes, he’s handsome. That might be what stops your scroll. But what makes Freddy special lives much deeper than his face. He’s quiet, thoughtful, and emotionally gentle. The kind of dog who watches the world before deciding he trusts it. And once he does? He fits in like he’s always belonged. Watch his video and fall in love with this sweet and innocent boy: https://youtu.be/0VO1wfXRPzk?si=l3P04a3gKYvTzOt6 Is Freddy a cuddly dog? No. Will he tolerate cuddles? Absolutely, he’ll lay there calmly and allow it. Will he one day seek affection on his own? Maybe. But that’s not why you adopt a dog like Freddy. You adopt Freddy because you believe in the quiet magic of trust being earned. Because you find meaning in routine, gentle coexistence, and the small wins. A relaxed body, a soft glance, a tail wag from across the room. Those are wins. Freddy is for someone who understands that love doesn’t always look like fireworks; sometimes it looks like peaceful companionship. A quick moment for his “specs” keep in mind he is a rescue and we cannot guarantee age or breed but we believe Freddy Potato is a Husky mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 58 lbs. He has the classic Husky eyes though he is the complete opposite of a husky. He is a dog’s dog through and through. for a best friend for your personal dog? Well you might have just found him. Freddy is currently fostered with a large and diverse pack including multiple dogs (all ranging in sizes) and four cats. Yes, cats. Freddy is excellent with them and completely ignores them, whether they’re lazy loungers or active kittens. He’s great with them all. His play style is healthy and respectful. He doesn’t initiate play, but he happily matches energy. From romping, bouncing, wrestling gently, and throwing paws with dogs who enjoy that style. He can match it all. When play is done, he calmly walk away and enjoy the fresh air. He is incredibly tolerant and has even participated in a pack walk with 30+ dogs and did fantastic. Freddy is a dog’s dog through and through. Dogs are essential to his confidence and sense of safety, and a home with at least one other dog is non-negotiable. He melts seamlessly into a pack, following their lead in the house and yard, and never adding chaos. No matter how chaotic the environment gets. He is a peace-bringer. Freddy loves routine and thrives on consistency. He learned his foster home’s rhythm in about a week. He’s not rambunctious, enjoys sunbathing, exploring the yard, and chewing on bones or sticks outside. Inside, he’s not destructive, he’s crate trained (and truly loves his crate it’s his safe place), fully potty trained, and has wonderful house manners. He is so mellow and overall low energy that a good romp in the yard with his pals and he’s already napping on his spot in the house the second he walks through the door. Side note, all dog’s have that one thing that opens the door to their heart just a tad bit faster. It’s just figuring out what it is. Well, we’ve already figured that part out for you! One of the ways to this gentle boy’s heart and gaining his trust is through his stomach! Typical guy LOL. Freddy loves food and he’s not picky. He’s not going to run up on you and steal your food by any means. He’s still going to be that calm cautious boy but he can’t resist a yummy French fry, the smell of popcorn (hello movie night), or just dog kibble in general. He also takes treats so incredibly gently that his fuzzy lips almost tickles you. So keep you dog pantry stocked with yummy dog snacks and make sure your counters are leftover free (he’ll find it when you’re not looking) LOL! At his core, Freddy is simply… easy. Easy to live with. Easy to train. Easy to trust. He doesn’t add stress, he absorbs it. A quiet soul. A gentle soul. A dog who makes life feel calmer just by being there. If you’re someone who finds joy in earning a dog’s trust rather than demanding it, Freddy may be one of the most rewarding companions you’ll ever know. We are willing to test Freddy Potato with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
