Story
Sashi is a friendly, outgoing boy who loves meeting new people and making friends wherever he goes. He’d prefer a home with older kids who can match his energy and give him the respectful space he needs to feel comfortable. Previously a farm dog, Sashi was trained to leave chickens and goats alone, but he still has a strong instinct to chase small animals, including cats, so he’ll need a cat-free home. He can also be selective with other dogs and may guard his favorite items, so he’d thrive as an only dog. With the right management and thoughtful introductions, he may be able to live with a compatible canine friend. Sashi knows some basic cues and is an absolute joy to walk, he’s polite on leash and always ready for an adventure. Whether it’s hiking, exploring, or enjoying the outdoors year-round, Sashi will be right by your side with a happy tail and a big smile. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to share your adventures, Sashi is ready to meet you!

Story
Walker is a sensitive, intelligent six-year-old husky mix who thrives in calm, predictable environments and bonds deeply with his people. He enjoys life’s simple pleasures—long hikes, off-leash adventures in safe areas, and relaxing car rides. Walker is housetrained and has lived successfully with cats and even guinea pigs, though he benefits from thoughtful supervision around smaller animals. With other dogs he is social but prefers to keep a comfortable amount of personal space, so he will likely be happiest as the only dog in his new home.Walker has had a single bite incident in six years, which occurred during an overstimulating birthday party with children running and shouting, possibly compounded by discomfort from a painful hotspot. Because he can become overwhelmed in busy or unpredictable situations, he is seeking an adult-only home where he can relax without pressure. This loyal, outdoorsy boy will make a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a quieter lifestyle and understands the needs of a sensitive dog. With patience, structure, and respect for his boundaries, Walker has all the potential to flourish in a loving home.

Story
We have recently come under some significant financial and medical hardship that has forced us to live in an environment not conducive to our dogs health and wellbeing. We are heartbroken to have to take these measures but we have tried to keep them and due to our living arrangements, and my husbands health ,we are no longer able to give them the life they deserve. Alexa is 8. We would love for them to go to a loving home with a big yard and lots of room to roam. She is sweet and loving, but needs a household without other pets and young children.

Story
Elsa is a gorgeous Husky with a heart full of love and energy to match! This playful girl is incredibly smart, eager to please, and already crate and leash trained. She’s the perfect mix of spirited and obedient—ready to run, play, and then settle in for a car ride (which she loves). Elsa is very people-friendly and thrives on attention and companionship. With her outgoing personality and loyal nature, she’ll make a fantastic addition to an active home that appreciates the intelligence and enthusiasm Huskies bring. If you’re looking for a bright, affectionate, and fun-loving best friend, Elsa is your perfect match. Our adoption fee includes transport, all age required shots, microchip, & a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. We look forward to receiving your application! We will review it shortly and give you a call to set up a phone interview.  We are thrilled to offer transport services every 3 weeks from Houston to the Pacific Northwest and the East Coast, ensuring that these incredible pets can find their way to you no matter where you are. This makes the adoption process smooth and convenient, allowing you to focus on welcoming your new family member with open arms. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future away from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. We know that since you are looking to add a furry family member to your home here, you will provide the love, care, and attention they need to thrive. Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping. ##2380668##

Story
Meet Kora! This sweet lady is ready to find her forever family. At the shelter, Kora loves to go for walks. This girl comes alive when she`s outside exploring! Most of the time she likes to bring one of her stuffed toys along for the ride, which is super cute. Kora has met a few dog friends at the shelter, so she may be able to go home with a respectful canine housemate. We think Kora would do best with middle school aged kids and up and a family who can give her the active life she deserves!**Kora is up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped. All adoptions start with a visit to our shelter!**
