Story
Ghost is a sweet, affectionate dog who loves cuddles, playtime, and outdoor adventures. She has a calm and friendly demeanor, and she gets along well with everyone she meets. Ghost can come off as shy or a little scared, especially in new environments. When she feels overwhelmed, she tends to retreat to her kennel or her bed where she can relax and feel safe. Ghost can get along with any human or animals, she really just wants to pet! As soon as you give her attention and pets she’ll nudge your arm or hand to give her more!

Story
Fen has spent far too many days watching the world from the end of a chain. When his owner moved away, this 6-year-old Lab/Husky mix was left behind on a lonely tie-out at an empty house, cared for only by kind neighbors who refused to let him be forgotten. They shared that Fen once lived indoors, but as his owner’s health declined, Fen’s life slowly shrank to neglect and isolation. Despite it all, Fen’s heart remains wide open.   This sweet boy is full of gentle enthusiasm and gratitude for every bit of attention. The moment he’s free to stretch his legs, Fen lights up — he loves to run, play, and feel the joy of simply being a dog again. He already knows how to sit, walks well on a leash, and shows just how smart and willing he is to listen and learn. Fen wants so badly to connect with people; he leans in for affection like he’s been saving up years of love to give.   Because he’s been forced to live outside for so long, he may need a little patience while relearning house manners and routine — but he’s had a home before, and he’s eager to understand again. Fen is currently underweight, a visible reminder of how he’s been failed, but also a hopeful sign of how much better his future can be with someone who truly cares.   Fen isn’t broken. He’s loving, loyal, and ready to bloom in the hands of a family who will never leave him behind again. All he needs now is a warm place to land, steady meals, and the promise that he’ll always belong.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 20, 2026, 9:56 pm

Good with dogs,
Story
Phoebe (approximately 16 pounds) & her brothers Buddy & Bruiser were transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. The pups from this litter are super sweet, friendly, playful, and cuddly. Phoebe is social, charming, and an expert snuggler. She is listed as a Husky mix and while we can totally see that in her body shape - and in her brothers' blue eyes - we also feel that she must be part House Elf with that sweet face and adorably oversized ears. She has wanted to play with every dog she has met, so if you have a resident canine, they'd better be up for lots of play time. We suspect that Phoebe will be 46-57 pounds when full grown, but this is not an exact science, so please take the estimate with a grain of salt. Come say hi to Phoebe today, but only if you're prepared to fall in love!If you'd like to meet Phoebe and all her friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed). Have questions? Call (603) 772-2921 ext. 110 or email info@nhspca.org today. Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 7.28 Age: 0yrs 4mths 1wks

Story
Zulu is a happy, playful, and affectionate 3-year-old girl who loves interactive play and enjoys curling up for cuddles once her energy needs are met. She is people-oriented, bonds closely with her humans, and thrives with routine and engagement. Zulu can be selective with unfamiliar dogs and may show reactivity, particularly on leash or during fast introductions. That said, she currently lives successfully with an older canine brother, showing that with slow, thoughtful introductions and clear structure, she is capable of sharing a home with the right dog. She would do best with a dog-savvy adopter who understands canine body language and is willing to continue positive, structured management. Whether as an only dog or in a home with a calm, compatible canine companion, Zulu would be a loving, fun, and deeply loyal addition to the right family.
