Story
Luke is a 3-year-old, 42-pound sweetheart who’s ready to find his forever home! He was recently rescued from a high-kill shelter and has been settling in wonderfully at his foster home. His foster mom says he’s an easy, loving, and all-around good boy. Luke is fully vetted – neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and monthly preventatives. He walks great on a leash and enjoys getting outside for strolls and fresh air. With his calm, gentle nature and medium size, Luke would make a fantastic companion for someone looking for a sweet, well-mannered pup to share life with. He’s adjusting beautifully and just needs someone to give him the love and stability he’s been waiting for. Could that be you? 💙

Story
Roo is a fun, lovable & goofy guy. Unfortunately I don’t believe I am the right home for him. I have a senior dog who is not taking to him as I hoped. Roo would do best in an active house, with someone who has a lot of time & attention to give to him. He is high energy and a large puppy.Things to note: Roo went through a lot of testing with our veterinarian during the first several months of his life due to his chronic stomach issues. Getting him on the proper food made a huge difference. Currently he is exclusively on an EN fiber balance diet. Also during this time he was diagnosed with Pica. His vet believes it could be behavioral & with the right training conditioned out of him. Roo has been working with a local dog training program, Sit Means Sit, and we have seen significant improvement with his behavioral issues. I believe his training membership could be transferred to his new owner!

Story
Dixie is an 8-month-old husky mix that weighs approximately 25 lbs and has the brightest blue eyes you’ve ever seen! Dixie came to us in April 2026 on a rainy day when her and her mom were running all over the highway, darting traffic and unsure where to go. A good Samaritan saw them, did a U-Turn and got out in the pouring rain to try and coax them into her car. At first Dixie and her mom didn’t want to come, but the good Samaritan sat on the highway and offered them food until mom got close, and then Dixie got close. She was able to safely get both in her car and drive them home. The mom was a spaniel mix and was adopted! Dixie we do not believe will get very big as her mom only weighed 30 lbs full grown, and we do not know who dad was. Dixie is kennel trained and is learning commands. With some one on one time, she will master them in no time. She is VERY smart and eager to learn. She loves other dogs and is currently being fostered in a sanctuary along the Texas/Mexico border. This sanctuary is only a temporary place to house animals while we find them their forever homes. So small or big dogs, she gets along wonderfully with! Dixie is learning still to trust humans. She needs a home where her family is patient, understanding and gentle. Another dog in the home would really help Dixie come out of her shell. If no other dog in the home, at least a home that can offer play dates or even take her to doggy day care! She is learning to play with toys and loves them. Dixie is a gorgeous girl that deserves the best. Please consider adopting Dixie! Dixie is fixed (spayed/neutered), heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on dewormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We ONLY do adopt in Central US and the East Coast. The adoption fee listed ($525) INCLUDES transport from Texas to the location where this animal is posted in. Transport goes to the following locations every 2-3 weeks: (Certain areas vary depending on adopters in the area) Albany and Latham, NY Wells and Brattleboro, VT Willington, New Haven and Dayville, CT Port Chester, NY Dayton and Akron, OH Grove City and Bloomsburg, PA Ridgefield and Mt Laurel, NJ White Marsh/Elkton, MD Falls Church, VA We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is best fit for your home.
