Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Saraph! This energetic sweetheart (born 10/1/21) loves rolling around in the grass under the sun at her foster home. This friendly girl is house trained and is working on building a positive association with her crate. She is good with other dogs and cats. Saraph thinks she is a small dog and loves to cuddle and try to sit in your lap. While she will play with toys, she prefers neck scratches and being as close to her owner as possible. Slow introductions are best when meeting smaller animals. Saraph has had a few experiences with children and appears to be gentle and patient with them.   In the morning, Saraph loves to speak. She will attempt to help with yardwork, keeping your grass down by munching on it. Always curious, Saraph enjoys sticking her nose in the air during car rides. Saraph is great on the leash and is working on not jumping at every squirrel that runs past. Saraph is food motivated and picks up on cues very quickly. This intelligent girl loves a good puzzle.  This girl has everything going for her with the proper time and attention!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.  We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions. We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.  Thank you!April 27, 2024, 7:47 pm

Story
Meet Monty! This sweet husky mix was recently surrendered due to the owner not having enough time for him anymore. He is looking for a home with someone who is willing to work on socializing him, help him work through his anxiety, and be super patient with him! He can be shy at first and needs time to warm up to new people. He would prefer an active home, would be open to meeting older children who can give him plenty of space when he needs it. He would also be open to meeting other tolerant dogs, and we are unsure how he would do with cats.If you're interested in meeting me, I am located at the Danville PSPCA on Bloom Rd. -- open daily from 12:00 - 6:00 (no appointment needed - all people in the home required to meet the dog before going forward with adoption, along with any dogs in the home with proof of Rabies Vaccine & DHPP Vaccine) If you have any questions about him, feel free to call the shelter at 570-275-0340 or email us at Danville@PSPCA.org

Story
"He's so sweet!" "I just love him." "He was such a good boy for our walk/bath/car ride." That's what we've heard multiple times from staff and volunteers in the short time Koba has been with us. If enough people say it, it's probably true! Koba IS a sweet gentleman, even if he's had a bit of a rough go lately. This 7-ish-year-old husky mix went on quite the day-plus-long adventure recently, with multiple people trying to get him to safety. If he seemed a little agitated that day, he apologizes! He was obviously very scared and confused, being a lost older guy after all. Turns out he had been rehomed right before that, so he really didn't know what was going on. But, it took him no time at all to decompress once he was safe. He even fell asleep on the shoulder of the kind person who drove him here, and it's been smiles and tailwags from then on. When he knows where he's laying his head at night and that he'll get a next meal, he's quite the mellow, affectionate, well-behaved dude. He's good with people of all ages, kids, dogs and cats. He even lived previously with a cat, who he was fine with, but slow introductions will be key. Koba is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
