Story
River is a 2 1/2-year-old husky, lab and coonhound mix. We got him as a puppy from a family friend and unfortunately need to re-home him to an owner who can provide the outdoor space, experience with energetic dogs and dedication to meet his needs. Although River is house/crate trained, and can do basic commands like sit, down and wait, we did have a hard time training him with other things such as recall, walking without pulling and socialization. Because of this, the next owner would have to have the ability to be very patient and willing to put in the time or money to train him more in order to not have such a hard time with him. River does best as mostly an outdoor dog as he is calmer afterward and we believe the next best owner would have plenty of land so that he can roam free.In short, River is hyper, sweet, more of a troublemaker, playful, protective--but really scared of his own shadow! He loves sticks, a toy tire, bones, chasing squirrels and car rides :)

Story
Scotch is a 6-year-old Husky/Border Collie mix who has been waiting for her forever family for 3 YEARS. She is officially our longest resident, and we just know her perfect person is out there. Scotch is incredibly smart, playful, and full of personality. She absolutely loves playing with other dogs, splashing around in the water, and chasing a good old-fashioned tennis ball. She’s the kind of girl who would thrive with someone who wants to keep her mind and body busy and give her all the fun and adventure she deserves. One important note: we do not recommend Scotch for a home with cats. She is not aggressive toward them at all, but she becomes extremely hyper-focused on cats, and that just hasn’t worked well in homes with kitties. After three years of waiting, Scotch deserves to know what it feels like to finally be someone’s girl. Adoption fee $75. ##1765263##

Story
Meet Kuma! At 4 years old, Kuma is a beautiful Akita girl with a heart just as big as her fluffy coat! Kuma is spayed, heartworm negative, good with other dogs, quiet, and incredibly sweet. She’s the kind of girl who doesn’t need to be the center of attention; she’s perfectly happy just being near her people and enjoying the good life. Kuma is still working on her house manners and isn’t housebroken quite yet, but with patience, consistency, and a little routine, she’s ready to learn! Kuma does have a flea allergy, so she’ll need to stay on consistent flea prevention to keep her comfortable and allergy-free. If you’re looking for a gentle, quiet companion with a sweet soul and a whole lot of love to give, Kuma may be your girl!
