Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Follow Bishop’s progress on our social media accounts as he continues his healing journey! He was found on the roadside crushed and broken, with internal bruising and injuries to his pelvis that left us unsure of his survival. 24 hours of emergency care, and several days of intensive care at a vet hospital were required, but we see him thriving and prospering in a foster home now. FHO surgery was required, and he is now walking like a trooper and wishing he could run line his foster sisters! A follow-up to the surgeon is scheduled for the first week in December. Bishop is ready for a new beginning, and looks forward to a wonderful life very soon.   PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 24, 2025, 11:06 pm

Story
Meet Thor! He’s a barrel of laughs and lots of snuggles once he feels comfortable in his environment. He was rescued from a hoarding situation and likely came up short in socialization, so he’s a bit shy at first until he learns to trust. He’s made great progress in his foster home and loves playing with the dogs there. And he loves balls! Chasing, tossing, carrying, pushing - you name it! He wasn’t so sure he liked the little people who came to visit so a home without young children would probably be best. He’s innocent yet street smart at the same time, afraid someone is out to “catch” him. He’s house trained and would really like a nice couch he and his new family can cuddle on. He’s working on leash walking. A fenced yard would be great but will need to be high because those cute, short, powerful legs can jump an unbelievable 4 feet. Thor would cherish a patient, loving person/family who can help him broaden his comfort zone. Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
