Story
Poor Sheeba! Sheeba ended up in a shelter after her owner passed away. She waited there for 5 months as people adopted dogs that were younger and smaller and left her behind! Sheeba is a 12 year old, husky mix who weighs 55 pounds. Sheeba has lots of pep in her step! She loves to go for adventures and run through the fields! She is housetrained and loves to get her crate to go to sleep for the night. She is ok around other dogs but does prefer dogs who give her space and don't want to play. Sheeba is looking for a calm environment with patient people who understand that she lost the only family she ever knew. It will take time for her to become comfortable and establish a new routine. When Sheeba is nervous or scared of new things, she can be a bit defensive and needs someone who can understand that. Sheeba is hoping for a few foster home or adopter before winter as she is not in the ideal foster home to meet her needs. Can you be the miracle Sheeba needs to be happy in her golden years? A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply to dogs over 8 years of age. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Story
Meet Cleveland, he is absolutely adorable and one very sweet pup! He’s friendly, playful, healthy, energetic. He is super sweet and submissive. He does have lots of energy and wants to play but he also wants to learn as well. Older children beat because of his size he may knock little ones over. Two of his siblings adopters had DNA test done and we are confident in his breed mix and this makes for a wonderful dog. He is primarily Husky (results stated father was pure breed Husky) and his mom primary rottie mix with a smidge of boxer. He needs a home that is active has a large fenced yard and maybe even other doggy friends to play with as well. He is a high energy boy so if you’re not active or not home enough to help him release his energy then you won’t be able to Keep him happy. He’s is a lover and can be a couch tater as long as he is given ample opportunity to release any pent up energy by exercise and mental stimulation. Fenced yard is best for him and not a short fence as huskies tend to jump pretty high. A five foot fence or more would Be sufficient. An apartment would not be ideal for this athletic boy. He needs space to run and get his zoomies worked out. Lol Located in east TN. Out of state adoptions are welcomed for additional fee. Transport is available to many areas in the north east as well as the Great Lakes region. We use Rescue Riders for all our pet transport needs because they are the best! Please apply at petpath.org

Story
Zola here! Hi! I came to the shelter with my five babies who I nursed for many weeks to make sure they could grow strong and healthy. I was surrendered by my family because they couldn't take care of me and my babies well enough to make sure they were safe. Now that my babies are adopted, I’m ready to be adopted too! I am a playful independent woman, and I don't let anyone get the better of me. I'm strong and play a little rough sometimes, but I get along with all my shelter-mates just fine. Please come by to meet me and help me find a new, better fur-ever home! Hope to see you soon! I'm in TN but they will transport me to a destination near you because they use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Apollo is a stunner! He's sure to catch your eye - all he needs is a chance to steal your heart. This sweet boy is extremely wary of strangers, but he warms up with patience and a few meetings to get to know you. He has been learning that not all strangers are scary here in the shelter. Apollo has the looks, but he also has the brains. He is intelligent and curious, and he loves to play and get up to mischief with his people. Spending time outside and going on long walks always makes his day. His ideal home would be on the quieter side where he can bond closely with his people and engage in mentally and physically stimulating activities.
