Meet Thor! He’s a barrel of laughs and lots of snuggles once he feels comfortable in his environment. He was rescued from a hoarding situation and likely came up short in socialization, so he’s a bit shy at first until he learns to trust. He’s made great progress in his foster home and loves playing with the dogs there. And he loves balls! Chasing, tossing, carrying, pushing - you name it! He wasn’t so sure he liked the little people who came to visit so a home without young children would probably be best. He’s innocent yet street smart at the same time, afraid someone is out to “catch” him. He’s house trained and would really like a nice couch he and his new family can cuddle on. He’s working on leash walking. A fenced yard would be great but will need to be high because those cute, short,powerful legs can jump an unbelievable 4 feet. Thor would cherish a patient, loving person/family who can help him broaden his comfort zone. Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Looking for the perfect mid-sized pup to do all those winter sports and outdoor activities with?? January is one sweet, playful and outgoing lady!! She clearly thrives when she's outside and gets to play with her toys! We've had a playdate with one of our other mid-sized pups, Plantain, and January was confident & bouncy, but still gentle! Siberian Huskies are known for being intelligent, sporty and friendly pups and January checks all the boxes! Unusually, however, she's never barked! Luan is a typical husky in so many ways! He's an active boy, clearly thriving in these snowy times! He loves to romp around and play and is a very smart boy! Huskies can be SO DRAMATIC, but Luan is fairly even keel, even when getting vetted! He's a happy guy who would do best without other pups (though he might be good with smaller dogs), and we can't imagine he'd do well with cats. Kids? Probably good to go! SOS! Solomon is a wonderful 9 yr old husky boy needing an urgent home with no cats or chickens. He was surrendered for euthanasia for killing chickens. Huskies are notorious for escape artists when they are bored. Since he was pulled to the rescue, he has never attempted to escape our fence. He is fully vetted and house trained. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. His adoption fee is only the cost of transport. This is a sweet boy dumped in a random neighborhood. He is a little shy but is friendly. He has not growled, snarled or shown any anger to strangers. Not sure if he is house trained but can learn. He loves to play, run around a yard and just have some fun. He has done well on some walks and loves the freedom to be outside. A routine is best for him to adapt and flourish in a new home. He is ready to find a forever family. Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.
