Story
Meet Holli, a 4-year-old female Husky/Malamute mix.Holli was brought to the adoption shelter by Union Gap animal control. She was found at the local mall. We aren't sure if Holli likes to shop or just loves people. She does have a curious personality and seems very outgoing. Holli is like most Husky's, she likes to be active and is going to need a home that wants to spend time with her and can also keep her safely contained when they are not with her. She is pretty easy going on leash for a husky and is a genuinely sweet lady that we adore. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.

Meet Brutus, a 3-year-old male Husky.*Update*Brutus is doing great and loves the staff. He is always happy to hit the play yard and thinks toys and enrichment are the best. Like most boys the way to his heart is through his stomach.Brutus was brought to the adoption center after being trapped in the city of Wapato. He has been understandably unsure of all the action going on around him but has slowly been coming out of his shell. Brutus isn't up to walks yet but is okay to take into the yard on leash. He does best with a calm approach and may be too shy for kids at this time. Brutus may be more used to an outdoor lifestyle but has been adapting remarkably well. He has hung out in the adoption center managers office and was chill with her small male dog. This pet is available for adoption on 12/8/23 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Good with kids, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Gracie came to us when she was surrendered with her litter of puppies. Her puppies quickly got adopted but Gracie has yet to find her forever home. She is a husky/shepherd mix who loves all people. She is probably about 3 years old and playful with typical husky energy, so will need regular exercise and a secure 6 ft fence. She is an alpha female so will do best as an only-dog home or maybe a home with a young submissive male dog. She is not good with cats or chickens. She is pretty good on leash so would be a wonderful hiking buddy or running partner. She has been spayed and deemed very healthy.
