Story
Meet Tom, a one and a half year old Husky/Shepherd mix weighing around 60 pounds. This handsome Husky mix has a gentle soul and a heart full of love just waiting to bloom. Tom is a sweet, sensitive boy who can be a little shy at first and unsure in new situations — but with some patience and TLC, he’s slowly but surely coming out of his shell. Tom walks beautifully on a leash, enjoys the little things (like yummy treats — which he takes ever so gently). He just needs a calm, loving home where he can feel safe and build confidence at his own pace. If you have a soft spot for the shy-but-sweet type and want to help a truly good boy feel loved and secure, Tom could be your perfect match. Come meet him and give him the chance to be your loyal companion. He’s ready for his fresh start — and he’s hoping it’s with you. This big goofball is the definition of joy—always ready to zoom around the yard, roll in the grass, and make you laugh with his playful antics. But don’t let all that energy fool you—Sully has a soft side, too. He’s affectionate, fun-loving, and full of charm. If you’re looking for a happy, high-spirited best friend who’s equal parts silly and sweet, Sully is ready to meet you!Come meet Sully today! He is currently located at the Ellensburg Animal Shelter. Please do your breed research before applying to adopt. Huskies and Husky mixes are very special dogs with unique requirements. They often have the inclination to roam and can be great escape artists. Huskies need to be active and do best with adopters that can help them burn extra energy with fun training. They can have strong prey drives, and while every dog is different, many huskies will chase cats and livestock. Grooming is also an important part of their routine, brushing them several times a week can help prevent their undercoat from matting and keep them looking their best. Huskies are a fun, active breed that many have fallen in love with over the years, but please keep their breed needs in mind when considering adding one to your household.Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?That`s where you and the pet make sure you`re a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. Story
Tony was left on the side of the road, so there is no history on him. He has been a good boy the whole time we've had him. He loves to sit on your feet and just get pets. He loves splashing in his kiddie pool and he enjoys running around the yard. He gets along well with other dogs. He does not do well in a crate ( he broke the first and only one we ever gave him), he does still have house accidents and he occasionally chews pillows. So it is best that while you work on his anxiety that you have a space he can go in that isn't a kennel. He is a husky, so he loves to talk and tattle on his siblings. He doesn't share stuffed animals or food well 9 we are working on it)

Story
Meet Sasha! This lovely Husky mix was born around January 2021 and has already been on quite a journey. Just three weeks ago, she was abandoned on a farm, suffering from dozens of quills embedded in her nose and face. 😢 But Sasha knew exactly where to go—she found a kindhearted family who took her in, one who helped her heal and brought her into the Mikey’s Chance Rescue program! Sasha is described as super sweet, though she was initially jumpy and easily scared by quick movements. But within just a few days of love and patience, she learned to trust those in the home who took her in, and now she’s a happy, playful dog who just wants a place to call her own. She gets along wonderfully with the medium-sized puppy in her current home and, while initially nervous around bigger dogs, she’s quickly learning that they make great playmates. Sasha adores playing fetch and playing outside with her humans and canines. She recently visited the vet and was a perfect passenger in the car. She was also gentle and friendly with the vet staff. Sasha is leash-trained, though she could use a little more practice. She’s smart, eager to learn, and absolutely loves belly rubs and cuddles. 💙 Sasha’s Ideal Home: ✔️ A securely fenced yard ✔️ If there are kids, they should be 5+ years old ✔️ A family ready to shower her with love, patience, and lots of playtime If Sasha sounds like the perfect match for your home, apply today! Story
Meet Puddles! He is a male Husky mix born in December 2022. Puddles came to us from Tri City Animal Control. He is a typical goofy young dog! Active, adorable and curious, He gets along great with other dogs but has been known to chase a cat so would do best in a cat free home. He’s an active chewer so having lots of appropriate chew toys is important. He is very curious and eager to please-he would greatly benefit from a home that will continue training to make him the best dog possible. He is potty trained and would do great with a doggy door so he can do his business on his own. Puddles will do best in an active home with a secure 6 foot fence and preferably another canine companion. Breed experience is a bonus 😊 If there are kids in the home, preferably over the age of 5.
