To help your puppy grow into a happy, confident, and well-adjusted adult dog, dedication to obedience training, socialization, and consistent potty training is essential.  We strongly recommend that the entire family participates in puppy training classes. This not only helps build a strong bond with your new pup but also ensures that everyone is using the same commands and techniques, creating a clear and consistent environment for learning.   **Puppies thrive with structure, patience, and positive reinforcement—and so do their families! Let’s set them up for a lifetime of love and success  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 20, 2026, 3:44 pm

***Bonded – Lily and Rita are bonded and must be adopted together.*** Meet Lily and Rita! Hi, we're Lily and Rita. We're just two tiny girls trying to make our way in the big, wide world and find the family who will love us forever. Lily – I’m a 1-year-old Jack Russell blend who weighs just 8 lbs. I am a gentle, shy, snuggly, and smart girl who wants nothing more than to be loved by my humans and to stay close by the side of my best friend, Rita. Rita– I’m a 9-lb Pug-Chihuahua blend and I'm 1 year young.  I'm a cuddly, clever, and kissy girl who loves being near my person, learning new tricks, and hanging out with best friend Lily!  Favorite Things: Both girls love to be held by their humans, which is easy since they are so tiny. Lilly even loves to sleep in her dog bed on the human bed! 24/7, they love to snuggle and cuddle right up to their human!  Training & Manners: Both Lily and Rita are smart cookies who are eager to learn and who are housetrained if let out frequently and have even picked up a few tricks. Rita will even sit for treats now! They both walk well on a leash and are well-behaved little passengers on car rides.  Health & Care: This healthy pair are up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed. They just need their monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog. These low-maintenance gals won't even require much elaborate grooming.  Other Animals: Lily and Rita both do well with other calm dogs of all shapes and sizes. They haven't been observed around cats yet, but her foster thinks she'd get along with them, too.  Children: These two sweethearts have not been observed around children yet.  Ideal Home: Equally at home downtown or down on the farm, these two would do well in an apartment, condo, or single-family home. Overall: Lily's and Rita's foster thinks they'd be a great blessing for any family with a heart big enough to take them both. If you’re looking for some cuddly cuties who make wonderful companions, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, their foster family will reach out with more information. The adoption donation for the pair is $750. ##2726930##

🐾 Meet Roxy! 🐾 Age: 2 years Breed: Jack Russell Terrier Mix Weight: 29 lbs ❤️ Friendly • Fun • Family Dog • Apartment-Friendly If you're looking for an easy, lovable companion, look no further than Roxy! This adorable 2-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix has been an absolute joy since joining our rescue. She has a happy, easygoing personality and is always ready to make new friends. Whether she's spending time with people or hanging out with other animals, Roxy is simply a pleasure to have around. At 29 pounds, she's a wonderful size for many apartments, condos, and townhomes while still being sturdy enough for adventures and playtime. She has a very calm nature and is crate trained. So far, Roxy has done wonderfully with kids, cats, and other dogs, making her a fantastic choice for many different types of families. Roxy found herself at risk when the shelter ran out of space, but we knew we couldn't leave this sweet girl behind. Now she's looking for the forever family she has always deserved. She may be carrying a couple of extra pounds, but don't tell her that—it certainly doesn't slow her down! A few walks, lots of love, and a family to call her own are all she needs. Roxy is heartworm positive. Treatment involves 3 shots that remove the infection. Salty Dog Rescue will pay for this treatment for any adopter. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate best friend who fits into almost any lifestyle, Roxy is ready to meet you! Could Roxy be your new best friend? 🩷

Story
Skippy, is a senior dog (16/17 years old) that is very lovable, still has pep to his step, and excellent with other dogs and small animals (no prey drive at all). He is crate trained, loves toys, chews, and bones, enjoys walks and even a slow short jog He’s just as happy being a couch potato next to you cuddled up. He knows basic commands (sit, paw, down). He’s happy wearing clothes if you want to dress him, especially in the colder months. He was a stray for a few years and I rescued him in 2017. He’s been spoiled since. Unfortunately, I’m moving across the US and cannot take him with me. He is used to being around other dogs, cats, and even a bunny. He loves his bones A LOT and would do best in a home with no small children. I’m hoping to find a loving home where he can be spoiled, loved, and cuddled for the remainder of his time here. He’d do best with someone that wants to give him the most love they can while he’s still here. He’s healthy and still has some puppy left in him.

Story
Opie is being fostered in FL. Little Opie continues to be the cutest old man in the world. He loves staying on schedule with his meals and outside time. When it's a nice sunny day, he can be found relaxing in the grass. When he's indoors, Opie is either sharing the big cozy dog bed with Gracie (6 lbs. poodle) or snuggling in under the blankets in the guest room closet. The funniest thing is when we set him on the couch or the bed, he rolls around on his back until he wears himself out! Opie gets along with the dogs who are close to his size, but he does not like our big dog, Baker. As soon as Baker gets remotely close to Opie, he screeches and it scares everyone. Opie does great at the groomer - he needs a good grooming every month - and he's so handsome after his haircut. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
