Story
Bart is a reserved 11 year old Jack Russel/ Cattle dog. In his 11 years, this wise man has seen a lot. He is his own judge of character. Prefers a quiet and calm life. He now shares our lobby with several other friendly, playful pups and he does well. He hangs around to meet new adopters and guest. Might say hello to some or might just walk away. We know he has a crush on our Executive Director. A home including a male would be good. He does well with others when he can approach on his terms. Another dog in the home would be great. Might take Bart a minute to settle in, however, we believe with patience, love, kindness, the trust will come. A home with a fenced yard would be ideal. To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Due to the high volume of applications received, our Adoption Coordinator will only contact the applicant that best meets the needs of the pet.

Story
Check out this cutie! Summit is a male Jack Russell/Boston Terrier mix born September 2020. He is the perfect companion for an adult only home. He is a small stocky dog and only weighs twenty-one pounds. Summit forms a strong bond with his owner and sometimes can be protective. He is a happy little dog when playing with his pals outside. Summit would enjoy the companionship of a well-mannered dog in his new home. If you own a dog, we can arrange a playdate to see if they are a match. He is already housebroken and would enjoy a home with a fenced in yard so he can run and play safely. Summit is a great little dog that will make some lucky family a fabulous pet.To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Story
Lance is a 4 year old Jack Russell mix and weighs less than twelve pounds. Calm and quiet, he prefers to take things slow when meeting new people. This shy little pup would do well in a home with adults only. He gets along with other dogs that respect his space. He enjoys playing in the yard at the shelter. A home with a fenced in backyard would be ideal to keep him safe when outside. Lance is fully vetted and ready to spend the best years of his life with you. Are you ready to give him a home?To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Story
She was previously adopted by another family and it didn’t work out. I am not sure what happened there, but she was returned to the shelter dehydrated, not being able to eat, shaking, and spent most of her time curled up in the corner at the shelter. When I held her for the first time she wouldn’t stop shaking. It took her a few days, but she eventually came out of her shell and played with our other dog and ate and drank a normal amount. But because of her previous experiences she is going to need an experienced owner to take care of her. I have taken her to multiple trainers but nothing seemed help with her anxiety issues other than being around someone constantly. She has experience with older children and dogs (needs time to warm up to them) but none with cats. She is territorial with food, treats, toys, and her kennel. She is kennel trained. I am moving and I am unable to bring her with me. She is a good dog that needs a loving home.

Toby will do well as an only dog so that he can have all your love and attention. He is currently in a foster home with both big and small  dogs, and  he does well with all of them. Toby can be a bit timid at first meet but after a few days of trust earning, he will be a loyal companion. Adoption fee $300.    Visit ruffredemption.org to complete an application. Story
This Sassy, sweet boy is 4 years old. 10-15 lbs a cute little mix, Everyone that has met him has seen something different in him. So manybe a chi, pug, boston, pekingese mix...only a dna test would tell us for sure. He is good with other small dogs. Not as much of a fan of the bigger dogs 50 lbs plus, that's when his sassy side really gets to show. Not a fan of the cat. Love people and seems very social, will just jump up in anyone's lap. He came to rescue when his owner passed away and the family  could not take him in. The last year (or so) his owner being elderly and not in good health, did not take the best care of Bryce and his housemate Charlotte. There were many days they did not get to go out as often as needed and learned to find places in the home to potty. Since coming to rescue that has been Bryce's biggest struggle. We have crate trained him and he will not potty in his crate, we pick him up and recieve lots of face kisses as we carry him outside and then we run and potty on everything. We have him on a belly band/male wrap while inside the house to keep him from marking and that seems to do the trick until he wiggles his way out of it, LOL. It will take someone patient giving him time to unlearn bad potty habits. adoption fee $300 includes spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms. To fill out an application visit https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/33868/generic ##1999642##
