Story
Pepsi is a young Miniature Pinscher/Terrier looking for his forever family! He has a beautiful brindle coat with black, brown, and white coloring. He&#39s estimated to be 8mo old, and weighs 17lbs. He will continue to grow and mature, and could be a small to medium sized dog. Pepsi is dog and cat friendly - he currently resides with 3 other dogs and cat in his foster home and loves to play with them! He is currently working on his crate training and potty training, and has picked up on his basic commands. Like any young puppy, Pepsi does have a high energy level and will need a fenced yard where he can spend his days running and playing. He would also benefit from another playful pup in his forever home. Pepsi came to BarkVille Dog Rescue after spending time at an overcrowded shelter, and it was evident that he had not lived a great life previously. This sweet boy will make a wonderful addition to any family looking for a loyal and fun-loving pup! He is eager to please and very obedient - he would excel in a home that will continue to provide his basic training. Pepsi is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. If you&#39re interested in adopting this sweet boy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.February 20, 2025, 5:29 pm

Story
Meet precious Lucy Lu, a 6 year old Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier mix who is absolutely the sweetest dog around. Loving, cuddly and quiet in the house while active outside as she loves to go on walks or just enjoy the warm sunshine.  Unfortunately, Lucy’s owner passed away and she is left looking for someone new to love and cherish. She gets along great with people and other dogs but would be better suited to a family with older children or someone who is looking for the ultimate cuddle buddy. Please consider bringing this sweet girl into your home! Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption. Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org ##789648##

Story
A SWEET SENIOR COMPANION:  Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 28 lbs.  Hi, my name is Meeko!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and have been soaking up the love from the dedicated volunteers and in my foster home ever since!  I can’t remember how I ended up at animal control, but I’m thrilled to get a new chance to find a loving home and family – hopefully soon! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and did not like them, so I want to be your only dog.  I haven’t reacted to other dogs that I see on my walks.  / Cats unknown, however, I have shown a bit of prey drive with other small animals. / No kids in my new home please as kids make me very nervous. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a small guy with a big, loveable personality!  I’m described as a sweet, gentle, fun-natured and playful, spunky guy.  That’s right, I still have a spring in my step at 10 years old!  I enjoy cuddling/snuggling with my people and will climb right into your lap if you let me!  I’m not shy and can be vocal when I want your attention, so condo or apartment living would likely not be a good fit for me.  I was also not shy about showing my elation, with grateful sighs of appreciation during my shelter bath.  I am a smart, well-mannered, and friendly guy who is sure to bring joy to my new home! / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I have already shown that I know several commands: ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’ and ‘come’.  I also walk nicely on a leash, utilize proper door etiquette, and accept friendly strangers without jumping.  I like to go on walks with my favorite stuffy toy in my mouth – so cute!  I am treat-motivated and love to please, so I bet you can teach me even more – who says an old dog can’t learn new tricks! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been pretty good on the shelter schedule and are good in my foster home, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like to spend time with the volunteers and have fun play sessions with them, especially in the MM play yard, and it’s always great when they bring out the toys!  Playing fetch, chew toys, and tennis balls are my favorite things.  You are not likely to find a bigger treat fan than me, either.  Another thing I enjoy is peanut butter filled Kongs and I enjoy going for walks and surveying my world. In my foster home, I love to crawl into my bed and cover myself with a cozy blanket. / Other than other dogs and kids, I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I came in with some broken teeth and needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived and thankfully MM has done that for me.  I’ve got a skin tag on my back leg, but it doesn’t bother me, and I hope you won’t mind it either.   I am looking for a wonderful furever home with a loving family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  March 10, 2025, 11:37 am

Story
A SWEET & FUN FRIEND:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 15 lbs.  Hi, my name is Darcey!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control with another dog and I’m happy to be here!  I was a bit nervous initially, but I am settling in as I realize I am in a safe place with lots of folks who love me and want to see me find my furever family.  I’m ready to do that now!  I’m currently in the prison/foster training program off-site and learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I’m available to meet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I want to be your only dog.  At Mostly Mutts, I am dominant with other dogs and I react to other dogs I see on walks, but my trainer has worked with me on this, and it’s now easy to correct. / Cats unknown. / I met a nice boy and girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and was very hesitant and fearful of them.  I also spent some time in a home with a 4-year-old and I was too active for her. I think kids 15+ may be a better match for me.  Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers took things slowly with me initially and now my wonderful nature has blossomed!  I’m described as fun, playful and super sweet and I know you will love my friendly nature.  I’m alert to my surroundings and am a barker, so best no apartment or condo-type home please.  I was a well-mannered little girl for my bath and did great for my nail trim, too. / My energy level is 6-8.  I would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard, where I can run and burn off my energy. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I look forward to learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, and ‘leave it’ commands as well as accept friendly strangers without jumping.  Check back soon to see my progress.  The volunteers have noticed that I will lunge towards cars while walking.  However, my trainer has been working with me on this behavior and can demonstrate the correct way to address it, so please ask about this.  / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, but I reportedly was a little anxious in there in my temp. foster home. / I've had a few accidents on the shelter schedule but did well in a foster home I was in for a few weeks, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Playtime is always fun, and I really like for the volunteers to bring out the toys (hard toys and tennis balls are my favorite)!  I think I could play with those all day!  I’m a good walker, so I hope there are lots of walks in our future.  I also enjoy a nice nap and some cuddles after a good play session.  I’m ready to be your fun companion! / Other than showing reactiveness to other dogs I see when out and about, and certain loud noises, I can’t think of any dislikes, though  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I am looking for a loving home with a wonderful family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  March 29, 2025, 8:38 am

Story
LOOKING FOR MY ANGEL:  Approx. 11 years old / Approx. 14 lbs. Hi, my name’s Boomer!  I found myself lost or abandoned on the roadside, so a nice lady picked me up and worked with a vet and animal control to try and locate my family as well as do my legal stray hold.  My former owners did not come for me, so the nice lady helped me work my way to Mostly Mutts for which I’m thankful!  I’m in a nice foster home while I wait for my special person or family to come and adopt me.      • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  There is a puppy in my foster home, and I tolerate his ‘puppy shenanigans’ but don’t really interact or engage in play with him.  My foster feels I would do better with an older, lazy kind of dog.  So, if you have a nice dog that sounds like this, let’s meet! / I do well with the cats in my foster home, as we all leave each other alone, so if you have a cat that wouldn’t want to engage with me, I think we would coexist well. / I haven’t met kids yet and I don’t think I’d want to live with children, but if you have older teens who would let me do my thing, let’s meet.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My foster describes me as sweet and very energetic but also quite independent with a bit of a loner disposition. I’m not a cuddler but I accept affection when I nuzzle up to my foster to be petted.  I’m not shy about letting you know I’m uncomfortable or not happy with a situation and will give ‘warning nips’ – I haven’t broken the skin, but it’s as if to say, ‘hey - give me my space’.  There are three people, two dogs and two cats in my foster home, and it can sometimes be a bit too much commotion for me.  I’m super grateful for the great care I get here, but my ‘perfect match’ would likely be a one- or two-person quiet home where I can bond with the people who meet my needs. / My energy level is 6-8, so I’ve still got some pep in my step.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I don’t know any specific commands, but perhaps you can teach me some – or perhaps we just don’t concern ourselves with it. / My crate manners are good in my foster home. / I came in originally incontinent, so I’m on a medication to help with that and now I do pretty well in my foster home when taken out frequently.  I walk around in circles to signal I need to go out. I’d do best with a work-/stay-at-home family member who can keep me on a good schedule.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like to be with my people and enjoy knowing they are there, and the occasional rub or pat on the head is all I request.  Otherwise, I am just looking for a relatively calm home with my person, some activity and then just let me chill with them. I do like a little pasta, but not much, as people’s food isn’t the best for dogs. / Other than the above-mentioned things, a busy or loud environment would likely be hard  for me.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough good care as well.  • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived, and I’ve had that now with 1 tooth pulled, so my mouth is fresh again.  I’m on a medication called Proin to help with my incontinence and I should stay on that.  I’m also on an inexpensive medication for anxiety.  Just ask about those please.  I’m looking for a one- or two-person calm home where I can be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $100.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  April 5, 2025, 8:15 am
