Story
Lady is a 7 year old spayed, microchipped Jack Russell mix. She is housebroken, good with people and most dogs. No cats please. She's on a diet and exercise program and has lost almost 10 lbs! She is a great walker and would make a wonderful companion. Lady is currently at the Shelter Volunteers For Animals periodically pulls dogs from other shelters to free up space; this helps avoid euthanizing healthy, adoptable animals. We are able to do this through the generosity of many people such as the originating shelter staff, transporters, foster volunteers and others who help with pulling fees, vet bills and finding good homes once they are here. The adoption process includes an application that is completed by the potential owner. If there are multiple applications on the same animal, the animal will go to the best home for that particular animal - not necessarily the first application. Fees for the rescues animals can range from $100 to $450 per animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If you are interested in any of the Rescue dogs, please Contact Us. Do not call the Shelter regarding rescue animals - they have no information about these dogs. All rescue animals are in foster homes with volunteers - NOT at the Shelter - unless otherwise noted.  Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. Story
Meet Lizzie, a resilient survivor with the softest coat and the sweetest heart. Lizzie’s story began behind a Piggly Wiggly in Camden, AL, where she and her friends Buster and Belle were struggling to survive. Severely emaciated, covered in ticks and fleas, and frightened by the busy world around her, Lizzie’s chances looked slim. But with rescue, safety, and care, she blossomed into a healthy, happy pup. Now her true personality shines. Lizzie is endlessly snuggly and sweet, the kind of companion who loves nothing more than curling up close. Her short coat is silky soft, and her gentle nature makes her a joy to be around. Lizzie has made a full recovery and is thriving, but her heart still beats strongest when she’s near her best friend Buster. Ideally, these two inseparable companions would find a home together, where they can continue their journey side by side. If you’re ready to open your heart to a loving, resilient pup (or maybe even two), Lizzie is waiting to meet you.

Story
Name: LuciaDate of Birth: 10/8/25Breed: Jack Russell Terrier/Pug (Jug)Gender: FemaleWeight: 14lbs.Location: Niagara County Hi! My name is Lucia! I’m a super sweet and cuddly girl! I’m also very smart and already learning where the door is to go potty outside, and that if I sit when I come back in the house, I’ll get treats! I love playing with my dog siblings, as well as my humans (big and small). I also like relaxing on the couch by myself sometimes.I’m okay sleeping in a crate while the humans are out of the house, but I’d rather be close by them at night. I don’t like being apart from them for too long. I’m really curious about the cats in the house- hopefully they want to play with me soon. All that white stuff outside is amazing! I could run around and borrow tunnels in the snow all day if the humans would let me! It’s going to be even more fun outside when the warm weather comes!Could you give me the love, attention, and training, to make me part of your forever family? If you’re interested in adopting Lucia, please apply at https://www.716paws.org/adopt or message the rescue if you are already pre-approved. ##2630188##

Story
Name: TitoBreed: Jack Russell Terrier/Pug mix (Jug)DOB: 10/8/25Gender: MaleWeight: 15 lbs.Location: Buffalo, NYAvailable for adoption on January 25th. Hi! My name is Tito, and I’m one of the adorable JUG pups. That’s short for Jack Russell Terrier + Pug mix. That means I’ll stay on the smaller side, with a cute, chunky build. I crate-trained like a champ. I’m doing great with potty training and continuing to learn every day. I use my pee pad when I need to. I even sit like a good boy for a treat after going potty outside!I’m dog-friendly, cat-curious, and love the best of both worlds, playing outside in the snow and relaxing inside with my toys or chewing on a bone. Even though I am energetic, I still love my cuddle breaks!I would thrive in a home where someone is around often, as I can get a little anxious when separated from my human. Having company helps me feel safe, confident, and ready to keep learning, playing, and soaking up all the love. If you’re interested in adopting Tito, please apply at www.716paws.org/adopt or message the rescue if you are already pre-approved. ##2630185##
