A spirited Jack Russell terrier mix with a heart twice the size of her tiny frame, Glimmer’s journey hasn't been a typical one—but she’s ready for her happiest chapter yet. A Brave Journey Glimmer’s story began in Alabama, but her dreams were much bigger than the Deep South. Despite being completely blind, this courageous puppy didn't let the unknown slow her down. She hopped on a transport and traveled all the way to Ohio, trusting that her forever family was waiting somewhere at the end of the road. Personality & Perks Don't let her lack of sight fool you—Glimmer navigates the world with her sharp nose, her perky ears, and an incredible sense of joy.• Toy Enthusiast: She has a "Jack Russell" engine under the hood! Glimmer loves toys that squeak, crinkle or jingle. She uses her keen hearing to track her playthings and will proudly "hunt" them down in the living room.• Professional Cuddler: Once playtime is over, Glimmer’s favorite place to be curled up in your lap under a warm blanket. She lives for human connection and will happily snooze in your lap for hours.• Resilient Spirit: She is a fast learner who maps out her environment quickly. She doesn't see obstacles; she just sees more things to sniff! The Ideal Home Glimmer is looking for a family that understands that "special needs" really just means "extra special love." She would thrive in a home where:• The furniture stays in a consistent place so she can map her surroundings.• Her humans are ready for plenty of playtime followed by serious snuggle sessions.• A patient hand is ready to guide her as she continues to grow and learn. Glimmer may not be able to see your face, but she can certainly feel your heart. She’s traveled hundreds of miles just to find you—are you the one she’s been waiting for? I came to Ohio from Alabama with my sisters. I’m a very curious puppy and love to explore my surroundings. I’m great at sniffing around and navigating, even though I’m blind—you wouldn’t be able to tell. I enjoy playing with my big sister Liberty; she’s very kind to me. Cuddling with my foster mom and dad is my favorite activity, especially wrapped up in a warm blanket. I’m making good progress with potty training, although I still have occasional accidents. I love to learn and feel comfortable in my crate at night or when my family is at work. I’ve never been around cats, but my foster mom thinks I would be just fine because I’m very relaxed. I can’t wait to meet my forever family and promise to give lots of love. ##2610827##

Story
Name: Shyne Sex: Female Age: 4 months Breed: Jack Russell mix Weight: 12 lbs   Impairments: Blind Potty training: Almost Crate trained: Pretty much Good with other dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Good with kids: Older kids Commands known or being worked on: No, Feed the dogs, Let’s go potty, Sit Need a fenced yard: Preferred, because she’s blind Need another dog in the home: No, but a calm fur friend would be fine Energy level: Low/medium Location: Troy, Ohio       Meet Shyne   Shyne, sometimes called Shy or Shy-Shy, came up from Alabama with her two sisters.   She’s blind but gets around very well. She loves to explore new places and learns her way around quickly. Being blind doesn’t hold her back.   She’s probably going to stay pretty small. Foster mom thinks she may be a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix. She’s very quiet and calm. Because of her small size, she’d do best in a home with older children or only adults.   Her favorite thing to do is cuddle up with you. She’ll snuggle all day, every day. She’ll pull a blanket down to her level to make a nest. She’s playful with her kibble as she eats it. Shyne is picky about the toys she likes and enjoys plush toys the most. Talk to her in an excited tone and she’ll do happy zoomies.   Potty training is really coming along. When you learn her cues, you’ll know when she needs to go. She likes treats okay, but loves her kibble.   Shyne is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and ready to meet you. Just fill out an application at speakfortheunspoken.com, and hopefully you’ll meet each other soon!   ##2632397##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Welcome Dobby to DASH. This sweet little JRT mix came to DASH from a rural shelter in northern KY. She is a puppy, and has puppy energy, but she is so sweet and loves being held and loved on. She is working on all of her puppy manners at her current foster home including crate training, potty training, walking on a leash. She gets along great with all of the other dogs in her foster home and has also been around the resident cats. She has not been kid tested, but since she is a puppy, we feel she would be ok with kids who respect her space until she is comfortable. She has the most soulful eyes when she looks at you like she might be an old soul in a puppy body. She will need someone dedicated to continuing to help her master her puppy manners and to make sure she has plenty of exercise for her breed.
