**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Chucky. I'm about 1 year old and I weigh about 22 lbs. I was surrendered by my owner along with a litter of pups. It seems that they were in trouble in the past for hoarding animals and they didn't want caught with us. I was a very scared boy at the shelter. One of the nice ladies that volunteer here took me home to foster me. She has been working with me a lot. I was initially terrified of everything, including going outside... now I'm the first one out! I am really enjoying her home. I love her other dogs and her cats too. I will need a very patient family that can continue working with me on potty training, socialization and training. I am very sweet and cuddly once I learn that I can trust you! If you're looking for a sweet little dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 💄🐾 Meet Milani – The Glam Girl of Puppyhood! 🐾💄 12 weeks old • Future Superstar • Current Professional Goofball Introducing Milani — a pocket-sized fashion icon with eyeliner so flawless it looks professionally applied! With her perfectly outlined eyes and adorable speckled nose, she’s clearly rocking that name-brand Milani makeup look… the kind known for 24-hour stay-on power. This little lady wakes up camera-ready and stays that way all day long. But don’t let her runway-ready face fool you — underneath that glamorous exterior is a typical happy, silly, wiggly puppy who takes her job of causing adorable chaos VERY seriously. Her daily schedule includes: • Maximum puppy shenanigans • Butt wiggles that could power a small city • Surprise zoomies at highly inconvenient times • Slobbery kisses • Random toy explosions • Falling asleep in the cutest positions imaginable She’s wonderful with other dogs and kids and, at her young age, should do great with cats too with proper introductions. Basically, she’s a social little butterfly wrapped in a fluffy puppy body. Now, a quick public service announcement: Milani does come equipped with standard puppy features — sharp little teeth and nails. They are very effective. Luckily, they are also TEMPORARY and will improve with training and maturity! Milani is at the perfect age to learn all the important things — manners, routines, and how to grow into an amazing adult dog. Right now she’s just focused on mastering the essentials like “how many toys can fit in my mouth at once?” and “is this a chew toy or a shoe?” Future Size & Breed Guess (based on those adorable photos!): - Looking at her sweet face, compact body, and speckled coat, Milani appears to have some Jack Russell Terrier-type mix vibes going on. - Based on her current age and size, she’s guesstimated to be at the top end of the small-sized adult dog category, probably landing in the 20-25ish pound range when fully grown. In other words — the PERFECT adventure size: big enough for hikes and fun, small enough to still fit on your lap when she decides she’s a baby again. If you’re ready for a lifetime of laughter, love, and puppy kisses (plus a little bit of mischief), Milani is ready to strut right into your heart. ✨ Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Milani bring her glam, giggles, and puppy sparkle to your home! ✨

Story
Kelvin (6/2/25) was born on St Thomas in conditions that were less than adequate for newborn pups. Kelvin is a classic “coconut retriever” JRT/terrier mix. Mom and Dad are both around 35 pounds. Kelvin has come out of his shell and is doing wonderful in this foster home. He loves being with other pups, is learning housebreaking skills and leash walking and loves toys! He is scheduled for his next set of vaccines and neutering. We are now accepting applications for his adoption. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PAPS/Dog Pet Search kL #3301 Washington PA 15301

Story
Sadie has special requirements and will require her adopter to have a one level home, fenced yard, no small children and no large or energetic dogs.  “Hi, I’m Sadie! I’m a 12-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix searching for a cozy retirement home where I can spend my golden years surrounded by love, warm blankets and good food.  A Little About Me: I’m mostly blind and hard of hearing, but I don’t let that stop me from following my person everywhere. I like to quietly plant myself near them, so you have to be very careful you don't trip over me! I weigh approximately 20lbs and do need a lift now and then, so someone who can carry me is a necessity.  I require one-level home where it’s easy for me to navigate safely. I have IVDD and take daily medications, but my foster mom keeps me comfortable and happy. Due to my limited mobility, I would not make a good walking partner or being put on a tie-out.  I like to follow my person and explore a bit in the yard but I'm more of a couch potato kinda gal.  With that being said, a fenced yard would be best for me at this time so I don’t wander onto unknown places. I do need supervised at all times when I'm outside. I’m house-trained with frequent potty breaks and do great overnight! I easily co-exist with other dogs but I would not make a good companion, snuggle buddy or play mate for other animals. I like to keep to myself and be with my human.  What I’m Hoping For: A calm, loving home without small children or big, bouncy dogs. I have not had any exposure to cats. Someone who enjoys having a loyal companion by their side—I’m happiest cuddled on the couch, snoozing, or getting my face scratched. A family who will cherish me and make sure I’m comfortable for the rest of my journey. Bonus Info: Sadie has been in foster care for over 11 months and has made great progress with her health. She qualifies for our LUVS program, which helps cover certain medical costs.  And let’s not forget—Sadie LOVES snacks and will happily be your taste-testing buddy for all the best dog-friendly treats. Sadie may be a senior, but she’s full of love to give and deserves the softest landing for her golden years. Could you be her perfect person? Sadie is available for adoption now through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale PA 15144 - KL# 16182 A sponsor has donated to support this senior dog’s adoption. Rather than waiving the adoption fee, you will receive a $200 gift card to a pet store close to you to help cover supplies for your new dog. We want to ensure all dogs are adopted for the right reasons, while still giving adopters meaningful support as they welcome a new family member. ##2319467##
