Story
Chucky is a very active Jack Russell Basenji mix dog. He is approximately 5.5 years old, I adopted him four years ago at a animal rescue in Ohio. He loves people and other dogs. He likes to play but loves to walk/hike/run. He would be ideal for a active person or a family with children that could play with him. He is potty trained, house and crate trained. He is a lot of fun and has a great personality!

Story
Lita is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. We know that Lita is a wire-haired Jack Russell Terrier mix. She is just over 1 year of age and she weighs 21 pounds. Lita also has an adorable head tilt. She is sweet, active, and playful. She loves to be cuddled and petted. At first, Lita was terrified of the other dogs, but now she loves to run and play with all of the other dogs. Lita does like to chase cats. Lita is a JRT, she is very smart, and she will jump a 4'-5' fence or gate to go chase a squirrel or cat. She must have a secure 6' fence to prevent escape. We put a training collar on her for about a week and she quickly learned to stay in the yard and to come when called. Lita is crate-trained and will run and get in her crate when it is time to do so. She obviously received no training from the person who previously had her, but she is very smart and learns quickly. Lita may need more work with housetraining and her house manners have gotten much better - she no longer chews on things that she is not supposed to. Lita must be in the house as a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and must have a secure, 6-foot-tall fenced yard to run and play. Lita is healthy. She is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is negative for heartworms and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Litas' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to the Pittsburgh area. She is located in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Story
Meet Poppy! Poppy is a 6yr old, Terrier mix, spayed female and up to date on vaccines/preventatives. She is house trained, kennel trained, and vehicle trained as well. Poppy is a medium energy dog; feisty and likes to socialize BUT she's a little crusty on the outside and super gooey on the inside. She loves her people and her friends; however, you'll need to earn her trust. Poppy can be energetic, plays casually and enjoys sustained games of chase with her friends, on her terms (fun police.) She can get cranky if play becomes too vigorous and she gets pounced on too much/hard. Poppy has a little bit of arthritis, and it can be painful, so she will gladly retreat to the door to let you know she is done with playtime. She is more than willing to go inside, follow you around or curl up, chill, and get her belly rubbed. Being small but mighty, Poppy occasionally has bouts of barking at what she sees moving in the distance and will go zooming up and down the fence line in arousal of anyone/thing approaching; however, she will calm down on her own with minimal intervention from her person. When greeting you, Poppy displays the typical wiggle body and wildly wagging tail. Have you seen how long her tail is?! It waves like a banner over her back and is simply adorable! She may initially hop up to put her feet on you, letting you know she's happy and wants to interact with you, she loves attention and will display a little eagerness to get more loves... so saying her name as she's being petted, and the name of the other dog(s) being petted keeps her content. Noteworthy Behaviors: Poppy displays barrier reactivity with new people/surroundings as a way to express her anxiety in the situation. She will need a person or family, (with older children), who will understand and take their time with her. Once you win her over, she is gold! She is quirky about having her collar touched so she will whine, cower down, and roll to her side. She will display mouthy behavior as you attempt to put a leash on her, but she genuinely wants to go out so don't give up! She will pop right up and head to the door after being leashed!! Key points to consider when adopting Poppy: she is sugar and spice with bursts of energy so great with a laid back and an active family. Honorable mention: Poppy does have a housemate, Sully, who is also up for adoption. If you're looking for two friends, then they are your duo! They would have an easier transition into a new home together but they are not bonded. $200 Local adoption fee (in Texas) $400 Out of State Fee (includes transport to your area) $50 Fuel temporary fuel surcharge

Story
Hi my name is Jenny.  My foster mom calls me Spitfire. .  Why because  I am a 3 1/2 month - 10 lb bundle of fun! I am very tiny, and my foster mom says I have a  very large personality. I love to run run and run somemore.  In fact, i was born to run. .   I am a fast runner and just love to run around the yard  with my toys in my mouth that are bigger than me.  I am a very fast little girl.  A fenced in yard would be my most wonderful wish so I can run out some of this puppy energy.  Even though I make lots of noise when I play, I love other dogs just my size or a little bigger or if you wish, you can shower all your attention on me..  My foster friends paws are bigger than my head but they like me and I love to have them chase me.  I don't think I would do well with cats as I chase anything that moves, balls, leaves, brooms, well you know what I mean, but it is so much fun!!  I am very active and lots of walks and playing to tire me out will be what I need but i love to cuddle when I am tired.  I am still working on my potty training and if kept on a schedule, I do very well.  I sleep in my crate all night long without a peep and my foster mom says I will be easy to train as I just so much love her treats!  I am spayed and up to date on my shots and ready to find a home of my own.   If you think you can adore this cute face and are ready for an very active pup, hey I am your girl..  Adopt me at pawsacrosspittsburgh.com/adopt   KL #16182 ##2012645##

Story
Meet sweet tiny Penelope. She is a Jack Russel puppy who finds herself without a home to call her own! She is very small but she has a big personality! She is super friendly and outgoing. She does well with kids and other dogs. She would do well in most homes. I don't think she will get very big so she should be under or around 10 lbs when fully grown. She was surrendered by her previous owner along with Rufus. If you're interested in her please email rescuepups411@gmail.com. thanks

Story
Jack Jr was surrendered to the shelter through no fault of his own. We were told his mom was a Jack Russell and dad was a beagle, he was born with the cutest bobtail! He’s 11mo old and 31lbs. Sweet sweet little boy, house broke, crate trained, knows commands and is very treat driven! He can sit, spin, lay down, shake and speak. Good with other dogs and kids, Jack Jr just wants to be in your lap!  ##1994458##
