You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Sugar will need a patient home to let her decompress and learn to trust you. She will slowly come around , she has not been socialized . Sugar is skittish actually terrified of the unknown, loud unexpected noises, new things, strangers, men. All will need introduced slowly , not forced. That was the bad news. The good news is in her 2 weeks of foster care she is now potty trained, loving to Foster Mom , slowly coming around to the man of the house. Gets along with my 2 dogs, sleeps in a crate at night with no protest or accidents. She will bark if left in crate during the day for short periods . She has learned to sit and we're working on shake, "stay back" as when the door opens. Recall is good in the house but not outside. She is smart, treat motivated . The terrier in her personality is coming out, she now plays fetch with a ball. When excited she has begun jumping up nipping at pant legs, a loud hey or no is the only correction needed for unwanted behavior. Sugar is very sweet, wants to be with you, loving to the right person. The pound contacted the rescue to help me. I am an old man, but I am happy and wag constantly, I am deaf and mostly blind - I can see motion and shadows. I get along with other dogs and, once I am comfortable, I like to play. I play with people or dogs. However, there are 5 dogs here, so it is overwhelming. I would do best in a house with people or one dog. Also, I would need to be carried up stairs. I can't see them. I will go potty outside, but my foster mommy is working on training me to a potty pad. The place I am staying has a doggy door. I have figured out how to go out, but not how to come back in. I just had a dental and my mouth feels great now. I would be a great companion for a retired person, because sitting on a lap is one of my most favorite things! Can you make the last years of my life the best? He came from a hoarding case of over 50 dogs. Revere needs an adult only home that will go slow and continue to show him all of the love that humans have to offer. He finds comfort in other dogs since he came from a hoarding situation, they really bring him out of his shell. Revere is sensitive in his neck area due to his history so he does best with a harness. This scruffy little guy came to us from a pound in Cleveland, and while we don’t know his past, we do know he’s ready for a brighter future! Waylon has a big personality in a small package. He gets along well with other dogs his size but can be a bit nippy and has some resource-guarding tendencies with food. Because of this, he needs an experienced owner who can work with him on building trust and setting boundaries.
