Story
2 months old (estimated) Neutered Male  Tri-pod (3 legs) Has done well with other dogs, cats, and kids Dante is the last of his litter and a truly special little pup with a heart full of love. After losing one of his legs due to trauma, he’s shown just how resilient he is—nothing slows him down. He happily runs and hops around, learning to adjust while keeping up his playful spirit. He loves being held, cuddling close in your arms, and giving plenty of sweet kisses. Gentle and affectionate, Dante is as sweet as pie and ready to bring love and joy to his forever home. The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.April 24, 2026, 11:40 am

Story
About Me: Name: Poncho Breed (or best guess): Jack Russell Terrier Mix Approximate Age:  6 yr Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 15 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Loving Family Why In Rescue: Owner Surrender Profile:   Poncho was very loved by his owner but she is no longer able to care for him so he is searching for a new home.  Poncho is almost 7 years old and is missing his family.  He loves attention and to go for walks.  He has been friendly to everyone he meets.    He has been keeping his kennel clean at the shelter.  If interested in happy little Poncho please fill out the pre-adoption application. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have.  http://nowisconsinpuppymills.com/mill-survivors.html If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS April 23, 2026, 4:19 pm

Story
About Me: Name: Tere Breed (or best guess): Jack Russell Terrier type mix Approximate Age: 3 yr Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 22 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Loving family Why In Rescue: Texas transfer Profile:   Tere came to us from Texas so she would have a better chance at finding a home.  She is a friendly girl who has been spayed, will have a dental, and is updated on her medical care.  Now she just needs a home.  We were told she was a little scared and nervous of new things and noises at the rescue in Texas but she seems comfortable at the shelter her.  Young children may be too much for her to handle however.  We do not have a background or history about her, so don't know if she lived with children or with other pets.  If interested please fill out the pre-adoption application and we can arrange a meet to see if he is the right match for your family. Story
How to begin this story.. well I am a silly guy. I believe many myths to be true. No dog is too small for the job and no legs are too short, that includes my own stumpy legs. I look like a funny cross between a Jack Russel, maybe a Corgi and something Doodley all glued together. I call it handsome. Herbert is the name and when Im feeling spicy its, Herberto! I was a stray that found myself alone in a hospital run for weeks. Telling everyone to piss off and leave me alone, except for one lovely guy. He became my first real friend, my handler, my confidant. This young man brought me to Redemption! Where I am now learning even more about myself and this beautiful world around me. I enjoy nature, running through lake edges and streams. I dont mind getting my feet dirty or letting you rinse them off. I love fresh flowers growing in the grass and gardens, I love tearing the ground up with my swift little feet. If you arent paying attention ill spin in a circle and bounce right off of you! Funny to me, not so funny to the dog walkers. I am a typical terrier in many ways. I love to have fun, chase a ball for a moment, and nip dogs butts in play group. The terrier in me just squeals with joy at the thrill of the chase! My playmates..... ya not so much..they occasionally hand my butt back to me. I am a good sport though and can let most things go. Now with that being said; I crave a strong leader. Some one that isn't afraid to keep me on my toes, make sure I complete all my chores and stay on my best behavior. Its true that I push the envelope, but I promise I just wanna be a good boy...most of the time.  Herbert is a loving social boy that would do great in a home with another dog, he also doesn't mind cats and could live happily with older considerate children. Herbert walks nicely on a leash, is crate and potty trained, but still needs some work on sharing things he values. He has a slight spicy side that can be tamed with a good full routine and physical activity. He really is an amazing dog that would do best with an owner that has terrier experience. Please contact us to learn more about this silly goose! Contact us today to meet this remarkable dog. To ask about Herbert, please contact us directly by calling 847-338-3252 or emailing info@redemptionroadinc.org.   _____     See what's new with our rescue including updates on our animals and upcoming events:    https://lnk.bio/redemptionroadinc Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/R4inc/ Instagram: @redemptionroadinc Our trainer's Instagram:  @fullcircledogtrainer March 7, 2026, 7:33 pm
