Story
Hi! My name is Bella. I was brought to the shelter when my family had to move out of the state. You see my dad was in the military and I wasn't allowed to be where he was going. I have missed my family but have enjoyed my many walks and play time with all the new people around. I do have a bad habit of being the loudest in the room. Hey I just want to make sure they all know I'm here! I can be good with other dogs as long as they know I'm in charge. Ask about me today!

Story
Sushi is being fostered in CT. Sushi loves to cuddle and would love to have her own person and family; however she would do best as an only dog so she can get all the love to herself. She travels great in the car and will either sit on your lap for a short trip or in the backseat with a doggy car seat. She is housetrained and will go to the door to let you know she has to go potty. She eats like a champ and takes her insulin well. She also does great at the vet and loves her vet clinic friends. She sleeps through the night and is very easy going. Sushi is not interested in toys but loves to chew on vet approved bones. She loves to sleep on the couch with a comfy blanket, and she uses dog steps to get on. She can safely jump down as long as the floor is not slippery. I have a dog stroller for Sushi and she happily will sit in it and go for a ride or sleep in it when I am sitting at the computer. She enjoys going for short walks and gets excited when you put her leash on! She also does a very funny trot out in the backyard. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Are you wishing your dog knew how to do tricks? Meet Arthur who already knows so many of them! Arthur is the sweetest boy. He is full of spunk and cuddles for his people. He's looking for an adult-only forever home, where he can be the strong, healthy and happy boy he is meant to be. Arthur was an owner surrender to SFTS, from a family who he'd been with for the first 5 years of his life. Now, at 6 years old, he's looking for the forever family who will keep him through all of his senior years. He enjoys belly rubs, scratches behind his ears, under his chin and right above his tail. In his foster home, Arthur is showing his love of puzzles and running around their fenced in yard. He would love a house with a fenced yard and a doggie door that he could access to go outside whenever he'd like. He does great on walks, the game of fetch and loves a good splash and jumping around in shallow water. He doesn't want to swim but will enjoy impressing you by digging a good hole on the shore. Arthur can also show you how to enjoy a good sunbath and chew on a stick. Just how smart is Arthur? He knows many commands like sit, stay, lay down, off, come, stop, ok-go (to cross street), spin, touch, close, open (relative to doors)! Arthur aims to please and can be easily taught other commands. Arthur would love a family who had someone that worked from home or where he was not alone throughout the day. Arthur deals with separation anxiety due to the amount of love he has for human interaction. Arthur has done well with other animals, and has even attended Doggy Day care, but does prefer a patient introduction to new animals that he will be living with. He enjoys sharing his thoughts on all the things he's curious about. Does this sassy, energetic guy sound like a good match for you? All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and have received routine deworming. Story
This adorable girl is Erin. She was transferred to SFTS with a small group of other dogs from Milwaukee animal control. We believe she is a Jack Russell Terrier mix, and around 5 yrs old, so we won't be getting any bigger than she is now. Erin is a sweet, friendly girl, and has loved all of the people she's met. She would love a forever home where she could be your only pup, but may do ok with the right furry companion. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. Story
Hi I'm Sweetie. I was adopted from WCHS for 8 months and recently returned due to housebreaking issues. Because of my breed, I am a very high energy girl who would love a job to do. My previous family thought there was too much going on in their home for me to stay focused and remember my potty training. When I was with just one of my owners for an extended period of time, I seemed to be catching on! WCHS is encouraging my next family to use an umbilical cord method upon arrival to my new home to help me start out on the right foot. I also should be crated anytime I'm left alone. I tend to find my own fun when left to my own devices, but do very well when I'm crated. I would love an active home who can provide me with lots of exercise. I definitely live up to my name as I love everyone I meet!

These pups are in Whitewater, Wisconsin too!

Story
Meet Maizy! Hello there, my name is Maizy! You may remember me as being "the last save of 2023". I needed a place to go quickly, and the good people of Albert's found an open spot for me! Since I'm a golden oldie, they sure didn't want to see me end up at a shelter. I'm about 20 pounds, and though I'm little, I'm not too much of a lap dog. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being around my people, but I likely won't cuddle with you. I'm really good with other dogs, and even cats. I could do well with older, respectful kiddos, but they must understand that I won't want to be held. I'm working super hard with my potty training, and I'm doing well with going on potty pads, but man, it's cold outside right now, so please don't hold anything against me if I don't exactly find going outside desirable! My favorite pastime is curling up in a nice cozy dog bed to take a nap in the sunshine! Added blankets would be a huge bonus! I'm not too fond of not seeing my humans and will voice my displeasure with it, so apartment living isn't ideal for me. I'm a little hard of hearing, so you might have to yell to get my attention, or if you know I can see you, you could wave me to come to you if you'd like. I'm a super sweet gal, but I'm a bit timid at first. I've recently had a big life change aferall. I'm hoping I get to find a loving family I can be a part of soon, so I can say I have a home of my own for the rest of my days! Do you have a little spot for a lady like myself in your home? *Maizy is being fostered in the Port Washington area. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). Story
Meet Mira! Howdy, my name is Mira which means “admirable” and fits me quite well. I'm a golden oldie who still has a little spunk left in me. At just 17 pounds, I'm small enough to be picked up when needed, but I get around just fine on my own. I get along well with other dogs, and I don't mind cats. I love humans and could live with small humans who are respectful of me. Foster mom calls me “honeybun” sometimes because I’m as sweet as can be! I'm a good girl and go potty outside when I'm kept on a regular schedule. I really enjoy going for car rides, and I'll climb right in my kennel and lay down for the trip. I actually enjoy relaxing in my kennel. I'm silly and social and will go with you to neighborhood outings or to local brewery for dinner. I'll happily take walks with you to explore the neighborhood and new places. Walks help to keep me healthy, which is good since I take some medications to keep my little heart happy. I'll gladly show my humans how much they mean to me with snuggles on the couch and at bedtime I'll go straight to my kennel and snooze away until it's time to get up in the morning. I'm hoping I find my forever family soon so we have as many days to spend with each other as we can! Maybe you are the missing piece to my happily ever after? *Mira is being fostered in Madison, WI.
