Story
Yuel is a 1-year 6-month-old female Samoyed-Jindo mix, weighing 15 kg. At just six months old, Yuel was placed on the euthanasia list at a city shelter along with her sibling, Samuel. Thankfully, they were both rescued, and she is now staying at our training center, slowly regaining her trust in people and desperately hoping to start a new life with her forever family. Yuel’s personality is very gentle and non-aggressive. However, due to her traumatic past, she tends to be wary of strangers and takes time to warm up to new people. When she first arrived at our training center, she was very shy, but after a few days, she gradually opened up and revealed her naturally sweet and affectionate personality. Because she does not easily approach unfamiliar people and will require ample time and patience to adjust, extra care should be taken during walks to prevent any escape attempts, and household entryways should be securely managed until she fully bonds with her new family. Like a typical Jindo mix, Yuel has an independent streak. However, she also strongly exhibits the Samoyed’s affectionate nature and responsiveness to human connection. Once she builds trust, she expresses deep affection. Yuel gets along well with other dogs and has formed a particularly strong bond with her sibling, Samuel. Since they have spent so much time together, she may experience separation anxiety if they are apart, and this should be considered when adopting. She currently goes outside for bathroom breaks three times a day and enjoys running freely with her canine friends in the exercise yard. However, during the adjustment period in a new home, occasional accidents may occur. Once she settles in, she should quickly adapt to an outdoor potty routine again. It is recommended to start taking her on walks only after she has bonded with her new family. Due to her Jindo mix heritage, she has a strong homing instinct. If she is suddenly taken far away or travels by plane, she may become confused and instinctively try to find her way back home. To prevent this, walks should only begin after she fully recognizes her adopter as family. Even then, a double leash or harness is essential for safety. Yuel still carries emotional scars from her traumatic past and may be shy and cautious at first. However, for those that are willing to endure that initial period and patiently wait for her trust, Yuel will become the most loyal and loving lifelong companion.

Story
Noah is a 1.5-year-old mixed breed dog, likely a Jindo mix, with an adorable pattern resembling white socks on one paw and a patch of white fur on his chest. He was abandoned at a shelter as a puppy and was rescued when he was about one year old. After a life in the shelter, he is now enjoying the play and freedom he was deprived of during his early months. Noah loves interacting with people and enjoys playing around with them. He is friendly and gets along well with other dogs, especially those whose personalities match his own. He is a foodie, with a great love for eating. Currently, he’s learning basic commands like ‘sit’ and ‘lie down’, and being quick to pick them up thanks to his intelligence. Noah enjoys walks and, as a young dog, is full of curiosity and energy. However, after enough outdoor activities and playtime, he is happy to rest and relax indoors. He especially loves running and playing in the park or spending quality time with his owner. As a male dog, Noah may mark his territory in new environments, but this behavior is expected to decrease as he becomes more familiar with his space and feels secure. Given his high energy and love for outdoor activities, Noah thrives in an environment that provides ample playtime and walks. With proper training and consistent bonding, he will grow into a loyal and devoted companion.

Story
Cola Name: Cola Age: 8 months Sex: Male Neutered: Yes Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Black Weight: 18 kg Height (at shoulder): 65 cm   Rescue Story Cola was rescued from a scrapyard together with his siblings Maru, Pepper, and Milky. Despite his rough start, Cola has grown into a loving and affectionate young dog who truly enjoys being close to people.   Personality & Temperament Cola is a very affectionate and social boy. He happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people, rubbing against them and allowing gentle handling. He loves human attention and often shows his belly when he feels comfortable — sometimes even to people he has just met.   He generally feels more comfortable around women and can be a bit fearful of men. Sudden movements or loud noises from children under 13 can make him uneasy, so a calm, dog-savvy home would be best for him.   With other dogs, Cola is friendly and playful. He approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs with curiosity and a “let’s be friends” attitude.   ‍ On Walks & Outdoors Cola has a moderate to high energy level and needs plenty of outdoor exercise in order to relax indoors. He walks on leash but does tend to pull and is more focused on sniffing than walking in a straight line, often stopping and starting to explore scents.   He is comfortable walking in quiet areas but can be nervous around busy roads with a lot of traffic.   When he sees cats, he looks at them with curiosity but will follow his handler when guided.   Home & Daily Life • Does not guard food from people or other dogs • Can be picked up by slipping an arm under his belly • Knows how to get in and out of a car by himself • Mostly does his potty outside • Very gentle and sweet-natured   Cola is a loving, playful, and affectionate young dog who will thrive with an adopter willing to give him both exercise and reassurance as he continues to grow into his confident adult self.   Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram. Story
Meet Dooyoo!   Profile • Name: Dooyoo • Age: 6 years • Gender: Spayed Female • Breed: Jindo mix • Color: White • Weight: 17kg • Height (at shoulders): 39cm   Personality & People Skills Dooyoo is a gentle, affectionate girl who loves being around people. She’s friendly not only with her family but also with new people, often approaching them for pets and affection. Once comfortable, she’ll even roll over to show her belly!   She doesn’t like being picked up suddenly by strangers and may protest with a little “urr–” sound—not out of aggression, but from being startled or nervous. With time, patience, and of course her favorite things (walks and treats!), she will warms up. She’s fine being carried or lifted by people she trusts, though she doesn’t seem particularly enjoy it.   She would do best in a quieter home with few family members, ideally without children under 13.   Dog Socialization Dooyoo is calm and well-mannered around other dogs. She prefers the company of people over dogs, she will politely greet other dogs without conflict. She’s not interested in playing and may feel uncomfortable with overly energetic dogs. If another dog challenges her, she might react but is not a fighter.   On walks, she sometimes reacts to passing dogs, but this is currently manageable with leash guidance. For this reason, a home with prior dog experience would suit her best.   With Cats She shows curiosity toward cats on walks and may try to follow them, but she listens well and moves along when guided. Cat testing is possible.   Energy Level & Walks Dooyoo has a low energy level. She loves lounging and staying close to her humans. While she enjoys walks, she doesn’t have high stamina and usually trails behind her person rather than pulling. Short, relaxed strolls are perfect for her.   Other Notes • Food motivated and may guard food from other dogs. • Can get excited when treats are given and jump up, so some guidance is needed. • No separation anxiety. • Rarely barks—just a few alert barks when there’s a sound outside. • Calm and comfortable in a kennel. • 100% house-trained (outdoor potty) • Travels very well in the car.  * Currently on a diet kibbles as she’s a little chubby Rescued from a city shelter (was at risk of euthanasia) Dooyoo is looking for a forever home where she can enjoy a calm, loving life by her human’s side. She’s the perfect companion if you’re looking for a gentle, low-energy, people-loving dog who just wants to be near you. Story
Meet Bannie ***CURRENTLY IN TORONTO!!! Age: 5 months Sex: Male Neutered: Yes Breed: Mixed Color: Brown Weight: 7.9 kg Height (shoulder): 34 cm     Bannie’s Story   Bannie was rescued together with his littermate, Samsun, after being abandoned in a box near a ski resort. They were found wearing little collars with bells, and a passerby reported them so they could be brought safely to the shelter. Despite such a difficult start to life, Bannie has grown into a gentle, affectionate, and trusting puppy.     Personality with People   Bannie is friendly and social, even with people he meets for the first time. He often approaches on his own and likes to rub against people for affection. He is comfortable being touched and can be picked up easily, even by strangers. He sometimes rolls over and shows his belly, a sign that he quickly learns to trust.   He has not yet met children under 13, so any interactions with young kids should be introduced slowly and gently.     With Other Dogs   Bannie usually approaches new dogs calmly and politely. He tends to greet and observe rather than immediately jumping into play. He feels most comfortable with dogs of a similar size and can become a bit overwhelmed by very high-energy or pushy dogs.     With Cats   Bannie has experience living with cats.     Energy Level   Bannie enjoys activity and play, but once outdoor time is over, he settles down nicely and rests calmly. In busy or noisy environments, he may feel shy and unsure, but in quiet, peaceful settings he becomes relaxed and confident. He does especially well when paired with calm, gentle companions.     Walks & Training   On walks, Bannie is more interested in sniffing and exploring than rushing forward, so he may stop and start often. Because he is still young and new to the outside world, he may crouch low when something feels scary. He walks better in quiet areas and finds busy streets with traffic more difficult.   Bannie is very people-oriented and attentive, which means he has great potential to learn quickly with gentle, positive training.     Other Notes • No food guarding toward people • May growl if another dog approaches during meals • Rarely barks • Calm in a kennel • Nervous about car rides and needs to be lifted in • Mostly does his bathroom outside   Bannie entered the shelter at a very young age and is still learning about the world. With patience, love, and guidance, he will grow into a loyal, gentle, and wonderful companion. Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram. Story
Meet Roxy   Breed: Jindo mix Age: 5 years old Sex: Spayed female Color: Brown Weight: 20kg Height (to shoulder): 54cm   Rescue Story   Roxy was rescued from a city shelter in August 2020 when she was just a 3-month-old puppy. Sadly, she never found an adopter and has been living at the shelter ever since.   Despite growing up in a shelter, Roxy’s heart has stayed gentle and full of love. She’s now ready for her very first real home   Personality & Temperament   Roxy can be a little shy at first, but a few treats quickly melt her hesitation. Once she warms up, she enjoys gentle petting and will even show her belly to people she trusts. She’s wonderful with children under 13 and allows being lifted or handled gently.   She greets unfamiliar dogs politely but doesn’t necessarily engage in play. She’s comfortable around dogs her size and tends to avoid conflict if another dog reacts.   When she sees cats on walks, she looks curiously but calmly follows her handler without pulling or chasing.   Energy Level & Daily Routine   Roxy has a moderate energy level — she enjoys her outdoor time and settles quietly afterward. She’s experienced on leash, walks beautifully without pulling, and loves following her person’s lead.   She doesn’t guard food, rarely barks, and enjoys a peaceful daily routine. She’s house-trained for outdoor potty, though she gets anxious in a kennel or car, so she feels safest being held during transport.   A Kind and Gentle Soul   Roxy is calm, loving, and well-mannered — a sweet companion who simply needs time to adjust to a home environment after years in a shelter. Her kind nature and patience make her easy to bond with, and she’s sure to bring warmth and quiet joy to any home.   Ideal Home: A patient and caring family who can give Roxy the stability and affection she’s missed all her life. She’ll thrive in a calm environment where she can enjoy outdoor walks and cozy rest indoors.   Five years of waiting — now it’s her turn to be loved for the gentle heart she carries, not the pain she’s endured.  Apply to foster or adopt to show her how beautiful the world can be. www.adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram.
