Story
Sugar is a 7 year old Jeju/Jindo/Shepard mix. Super sweet. Likes to be outside and would prefer to have a lot of space to run and explore. She is a very curious active dog. It breaks my heart, but I will be having surgery, and I need to rehome her as soon possible. I can no longer care for her. Please help us find the right home for her. In addition, I have moved to Texas and my son has small children. She has nipped at them. Mostly because the kids don't respect her boundaries. She is ok with other dogs as long as she is not crowded in with them. She would be great with one person who works from home. Or a farm with space to be off leash.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Amberly – a survivor with a heart full of hope Amber is a 1-year-old Jindo mix making her way to Minnesota all the way from South Korea, where she was rescued from the unimaginable cruelty of the dog meat trade. After spending her life confined in a barren metal cage, Amberly is finally getting her chance to experience what every dog deserves: kindness, comfort, and love. She was one of 67 dogs saved by our incredible partners at Humane World for Animals (formerly Humane Society International) as part of a historic rescue from a long-running dog meat farm in Cheongju, South Korea. With the country’s ban on the dog meat industry now in motion, Amberly’s rescue represents more than just a second chance — it’s a symbol of lasting change. Despite all she’s been through, Amberly is learning to trust and open up. She’s a little shy with new people at first, but warms up with soft tail wags and gentle curiosity. She leans into petting from people she knows and is easy to walk on leash, especially with a clip-style leash. Click here to see a video of her soaking up love! Amberly has gone on many buddy walks with other dogs and is still figuring out how to play appropriately — after all, she never had a chance to be socialized in the past. She shows excitement and interest in other dogs and would benefit from continued slow introductions and a patient dog friend. She’s looking for a calm, understanding home that will let her continue to blossom at her own pace. With time, love, and patience, Amberly will be the most loyal, grateful companion you could ever hope for. From farm cage to soft bed — Amberly’s journey is just beginning. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate   to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Click here to watch a video of Amberly.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 28, 2025, 6:17 pm

Story
Jack was rescued from a high kill shelter in South Korea when I lived and worked there in 2014. He was already two when I adopted him and showed some signs of abuse and neglect. He has been my side kick for the last 11 years. He’s a super loyal (definitely a breed characteristic), but doesn’t do well with other dogs (unless introduced the right way - he’s got kicked out of daycare for not taking social cues and starting things), has not been tested with cats. He has some collar and neck sensitivity and has bitten and nipped a few people (around food or in high stress situations where we have large groups of people over and strangers try to pet him). He would be a great dog for someone without kids or other animals. He’s a great walker and sleeps 70% of the day. He is a sweet heart and we would love to keep him but we have an active 2 year old and the two don’t mix well.

These pups are in Minneapolis, Minnesota too!

Story
Meet Honey! Fostered in east TN, Athens TN! Out of state welcome. Transport available to areas northeast or Great Lakes and is included in the adoption fee as stated here on adopt a pet. We use rescue riders for all our pet transport needs because they are the best. Meet Honey! This sweet little girl is a hot mess right now with her skin. She was so severely infested with fleas. She has scratched herself raw and has some hairloss. Rest assured she is feeling better now after being tested for fleas and getting relief from the itching. Her coat should come back full and pretty. She’s a tad shy at first meet but doesn’t take very long to warm up to new people. She is reserved and a bit independent which is typical of the breed. If you think she is cute that’s great but be sure to read up on the common traits of Chows. They aren’t typically cuddly lap dogs they can sweet natured but they don’t crave to be petted as much as other dogs. They are also not all aggressive as rumor has it. This girl is not aggressive at all. She does great with the other dogs, she would do best in a home with older teenage to young adult children simply because she is weary and shy around lots of activity. She is very confident at the same time she is shy. It’s a strange combination but she shows behaviors that tell us once she is comfortable she is going to be a confident girlie. She is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative and started on flea and tick preventives as well as heartworm preventives. She is only 33 lbs and will not get any bigger. We believe she is about two years old. She is crate trained and potty trained too. Her ideal home would be one with a fenced yard, older teenager or young adult kids no small children, active or non active family that understands her breed needs of being independent. She seems to be fine with other dogs that respect her space and doesn’t seem to need a doggie companion but would do ok with one. Please apply at pet path.org

Story
The votes are IN and we ARE the WINNERS!! Found at the side of a country road (very common dumping ground, next to the railroad tracks), and saved by a wonderful "foster" and her husband and son and other doggy friends :) We started living like REAL loved puppies the day she saved us!! We are learning potty training and are crate trained experts!! We are leash training as well, but you have to understand.... we were never loved, never lived IN a home and NEVER had ANYONE CARE!!! So, potty trained or not, we are over the moon (and so is our foster mom). But now it is time to find our furever homes! We love and play very well together and would be ideal as a pair, but do NOT have to be adopted together. We need another calm and confident dog to keep us happy/played with and to teach us all we need to know about being loved pups :) We are gorgeous pups and our coats will accent your hair :) ADOPT...DON'T SHOP!!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
