**About Cove:**
Cove is an international rescue all the way from South Korean. While "international adoption" might sound like a major undertaking, we have years of experience streamlining this process to make it as smooth as possible. We’ll be right by your side to explain every step!
The Journey Home
Once your application is approved, the final step of Cove’s journey begins. Adopters are responsible for picking him up directly from a major international airport. Common arrival hubs include:
West Coast: SFO, SEA, LAX.
East Coast & Central: JFK, IAH
🐕 Personality
Cove has a great balance of being moderately active and calm. He can be a little shy around strangers at first, but he is very smart. He assesses the situation well and knows how to lean on you for support. Since he loves treats, it’s very easy to become friends with him! He shows curiosity if you give him time and avoid making sudden movements. Please note that he can get easily startled if you try to put a leash on him or grab him suddenly.
Experience with children
Yes, he met a 10-year-old girl and gently accepted treats from her. We just made sure to ask that children avoid making sudden, loud noises or sudden movements around him.
Experience with cats
He hasn’t met any cats yet.
Behavior in cars
He doesn’t drool much, but he tends to curl up tightly because he feels a bit scared. However, he is steadily improving, and he will get comfortable in the car very soon!
Potty training
He prefers doing his business outdoors, but he does very well on potty pads indoors as well.
Behavior when left alone
He tends to whine a bit when people are out of sight. Since there are other dogs in the home, he has never been left completely by himself. Since he is still just a young puppy, we think he will learn to do well on his own as he grows up.
Resource guarding
He waits politely for his turn to get treats. Because he loves food so much, he will keep a close eye on other dogs’ treats if they don’t eat them right away. Since he is still a puppy, we are continuing to observe him closely as he grows.
Leash and walk experience
He maintains a good, comfortable distance on the leash and is very easy to manage on walks. He even responds very well off-leash (in safe areas)! He shows curiosity toward other dogs, but he doesn’t pull or drag you.
Overall Summary
Cove is an absolute sweetheart with so much affection! (Though he is still a bit afraid of being picked up into someone’s arms.) When you sit down, he loves to slide between your legs, and when you lie down, he leans his whole body against you. It is honestly one of his absolute best and most charming traits! He is unbelievably lovable. His love for treats makes him very easy to train and bond with, and he waits quietly and politely at cafes or restaurants. He adores other dogs, has a great moderate energy level, and is even cuter in real life than in his photos!
