Story
🐶 Astrid: A Doodle Who Thrives with Patience, Trust, and Leadership Astrid is a 2-year-old, 51-lb doodle who checks a lot of dreamy boxes. She is potty trained, crate trained, quiet in the house, non-destructive, and not a counter surfer. She loves dogs of all ages and sizes, though she can be a bit “face-kissy,” which older dogs sometimes side-eye. Toys, bones, and snacks absolutely make her day. She is a groomer’s dream, and her beautiful coat requires regular maintenance and professional grooming to keep it soft and tangle-free. Bath, nails, brushing…she stands like she was born for it. She is easy to have around the home, enjoys curling up near your feet on the couch, and gently asks for affection once she feels safe. Astrid isn’t a wired, bouncing doodle cartoon. She is moderate energy: happy to zoom, run, and wrestle with a dog friend, then chill quietly the next. Daily exercise and play sessions are important to help her confidence and happiness. After that, she’s content to simply be your soft shadow. She is a cautious observer of the world. Sudden changes or new objects might startle her, and she will either freeze or dart, never bite. Time, consistency, and calm reassurance help her adjust. She needs a steady human who provides patience, trust, and leadership as she learns that her home is safe. Her must-haves: • Securely fenced yard • Another confident dog who enjoys play • Slip lead or well-fitted martingale for any outings • Older, respectful children only • Regular coat maintenance and professional grooming Give her about two weeks to settle. She will choose a safe spot on the couch, figure out the routine, and then her personality really shows. Once bonded, she is playful, goofy in small bursts, food-motivated, and always trying hard to be brave. Astrid is a soft soul who will shine brightly under patience, trust, and loving leadership. If you love helping a dog feel secure and confident in her own time, she will be the sweetest reward. 🐾 Adoption Info: All of our animals are fully vetted, which includes spay/neuter, up to date on vaccines, wormed, heartworm tested and treated if necessary, up to date on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and microchipped prior to adoption.
