Story
-Personality: Gentle, mellow, sensitive & curious-Dog-friendly: Yes — he loves other dogs!-Let’s you see take the lead in walks, very compliant-Potty trained-Crate trained, but can be an escape artist when left alone during the day. Prefers crates that he can see out of (wire) with a bed and blanket. -Friendly with children, might prefer older children that can respect his space-Very food motivated, great for positive reinforcement, but make sure all other food is out of reach This sweet doodle mix is a gentle, sensitive soul who is learning that people can be safe and kind. He can be scared and nervous in new situations, but even when he’s unsure, he still wants to be part of what’s happening. Rather than hiding away, he prefers to be in the same room with everyone, quietly watching with curiosity. He absolutely loves other dogs. He quickly bonded with our fellow doodle mix and follows her everywhere, looking to her for companionship and confidence. A friendly, confident dog in his future home could be a wonderful role model for him. With people, he needs a little patience. It took him a day or two before he felt comfortable approaching to sniff my hand, and he’s already beginning to occasionally come over on his own for pets. Every small step feels like his way of saying, “I think I can trust you.” He’s not a dog who will immediately run up to strangers asking to play. Instead, he’ll observe from a comfortable distance and gradually work up the courage to interact. He has shown no aggression and has a naturally mellow demeanor. When he becomes overwhelmed, his response is to shut down rather than act out, so having a safe, quiet space where he can decompress is important. His ideal home He would thrive with someone who understands that trust doesn’t have to happen overnight. He needs a home willing to give him time, patience, consistency, and space, allowing him to approach people at his own pace rather than pushing interactions. A home with a friendly, confident dog could be especially wonderful for him. He clearly finds comfort and happiness in canine companionship and seems to learn from watching another dog navigate the world. He’s still showing us who he is. Underneath the nervousness is a sweet, curious young dog who wants connection — he’s just figuring out how to be brave enough to ask for it. For the right person or family, watching his confidence grow and earning his trust is going to be incredibly rewarding.  ##2819983##

Story
Hi, I’m Nico! I’m almost a year old pittie/lab mix, and I’m looking for my forever family. I’m a happy, loving boy who absolutely loves people and does great with other dogs. I’m likely good with kids and cats too, but of course I’d need to meet them to make sure we’re a good match. I’m neutered, vaccinated, and ready to go home. All I’m missing is my forever family. From his foster: THIS is a great dog if you’re looking for a big boy that has perfect manners and temperament, here’s your guy. Vet thinks he’s less than a year old. Nico looks like a lab/pittie mix. The head is a pittie giveaway but the rest of him screams lab. Slender and tall with a rich black coat. Nico is living with three other dogs (four before yesterday) and is the perfect playmate. He adores foster puppy, Buster. In fact if you want two dogs these two are so much fun. Little Buster is fearless and Nico is a big marshmallow. Nico is house trained and has done well in his crate which I think is new to him He so wants to please. In fact, when he is behind the dog gate which he could push down or jump over without a thought, he waits patiently for me to open it. Oh and he walks great on lead and is not reactive. Nico was picked up as a stray but I can tell- this dog has known love. He’s the best boy. Could you be the one I’ve been waiting for?
