Story
Abby is a 4 year old mixed breed that came in recently with her sister. She was listed as a doodle but we definitely see some Schnauzer-like features. She does shed, so she is not hypoallergenic.  Abby is a happy, people loving girl who brings energy and affection wherever she goes. She gets excited to meet her humans, so excited that she might greet you with a joyful jump or two! Abby thrives on connection and loves being close whether that’s hanging out by your side or soaking up all the attention you’re willing to give. She’s a strong girl on the leash, so she’ll do best with someone who can confidently handle her strength and continue working with her on leash manners. With a little guidance, she’ll make a great walking companion. Abby isn’t a fan of being left alone for long periods. she truly bonds with her people She wants to be part of the action. She’s looking for a home where she can be included, loved, and given plenty of companionship. Abby loves other dogs, and is good with cats and kids! Story
Oliver has come a long way since coming to Heartland! He was initially found roaming a campground in Kentucky with what seemed to be 5 siblings. When he first arrived he was very scared and hid. Now, Oliver is an affectionate boy and thrives on connection and attention. If you’re looking for a dog who will happily soak up all your love Oliver is your guy. He would do best in a home with a fenced yard where he can explore, play, and enjoy fresh air safely.   Oliver is currently working on potty training and making progress each day. It's clear he hasn't spent much time in a home, so he had to start from scratch! He’s a smart boy who’s already picked up on routine like knowing exactly where the door is to head back inside after a walk!    While he’s not very food-motivated, he responds best to affection based training, making praise, pets, and love as his biggest rewards.   Oliver now loves being the center of attention and will continue building confidence. He seems to do well with kids, but because he gets excited and may jump up to show affection, a home with older children may be the best fit.   If you are viewing this pet's profile on Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet,.please use the application link at the bottom of the profile to apply. Ruby is a sweet, energetic girl. She is always on the go and wants you right there with her. She loves to jump and gets the zoomies. She loves kids, but with her size and energy level she would do best with older or dog savvy children. When she is ready for a break, she likes to cuddle up for lots of pets. She would do great with a high energy playmate and would benefit from some basic obedience training. Story
Oh sweet Nash. This boy deserves the world and we would love to find the right place for him. If you’re looking for a loyal protector, Nash is your guy. He is a laid back dog that just wants to be with his people and play tug or fetch with his jolly ball. He is a 4 year old mixed breed with some lab, hound and terrier.  Nash has ignored outdoor cats where he lives currently but out of an abundance of caution, he would probably prefer to be the only animal in the house. He did previously have another male dog roommate that he did well with, but it’s been a while.  Nash was surrendered back because he was leary of his family’s neighbor kids coming and going offen. He is a protector of his people and overwhelmed by lots of new people coming over. What we would love for Nash is someone who wants a dog that will be their best friend. Someone who doesn’t have a lot of company that would overwhelm Nash. This boy doesn’t need a ton of space to run, he just needs someone to love him and a soft place to lay his head. Are you the right home for this beautiful boy?   If you are viewing this pet's profile on Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet,.please use the application link at the bottom of the profile to apply. Clicking the "Ask About" button does not submit an application. It only submits a question which will delay an application submission.    All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm tested negative ( puppies age 7 months and older) and microchipped.  There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards.   If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill out an online application here: www.heartlandsmallanimalrescue.org/canine-application.html. ##1383930##
