Looking for a Doodle? Check out these darlings. There are 3 females and 2 males looking for their loving forever home. They are about 5 months old, and are full of wiggles and energy. They will need regular grooming, and Doodle experience is a plus. A fence is definitely preferred, and due to their excitable nature older children would be a better fit. These babies will need work on housebreaking and basic training. They all have wonderful and sweet dispositions.DOB 7-17-23I'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes. Turtle is a great guy! He has a beautiful brindle coat, and loves the attention from all of our volunteers. Turtle is starting to come out of his shell and enjoys playing fetch, chasing the ball, going for walks, and watching pickleball. However he does not like geese, fireworks, or bicycles passing by. Turtle loves to cuddle, he is crate trained, housebroken, and knows many commands.Turtle would benefit from an experienced dog owner who is active and willing to provide adequate energy and understand his protective nature in his home. Give us a call if you would like to meet this wonderful companion. Story
What's the best thing about Capone? Well, we are SO glad that you asked! The best thing about Capone is how much love he has to offer. This boy is a pup who is happiest when he is near someone. Every chance he gets, Capone wants to snuggle close. So, our point is that if you are going to adopt a cuddle-bug, why not do it when the temps are dropping and snuggle sessions are in full force? He would be the ideal family dog. If your kiddos are respectful and sturdy, Capone has done very well with those types of kiddos. He's been doing well meeting other playful shelter pups, too! He is social and interactive and we could see him working hard to be a part of every aspect of your life! As if you need any other reason to adopt Capone, he is a total gentleman. He knows how to sit, lay down, and shake with both paws! He's a treat-motivated dude but really is happiest to work for his tennis ball. He also couldn't have been sweeter for his vet intake. Here at the shelter, he has done very well meeting new people! We want to make sure to set him up for success so it would be best for Capone to be inside the house when delivery drivers bring stuff to the home. He isn't too sure when it comes to them and feels safest with his family. His adopter will need to be extra committed to making sure he has access to vet care since he is positive for Lyme disease. We are treating him already but Capone will need vet visits to make sure his symptoms are managed. If you are still reading, then we think you just need to come and meet Capone! Clearly, you are interested in this dreamboat. He is about five years old and is neutered.

Story
Lady is a perfect blend of nearly adult dog and all the benefits that go with it - potty trained, crate trained, well mannered and friendly, with all the fun, goofiness and energy of a big puppy. She would love to have a playmate dog in the home, she has a fair bit of energy and expecting a human do all the appropriate wearing down of that energy would be too much for the human or excess energy unburned for her. Lady loves to chew. We would classify her as an aggressive chewer. She is not aggressive at all, but she loves to chew and can work through a yak chew in two days or less. She also loves peanut buttered stuffed hooves and smoked knee caps. You can remove anything from her possession, including her mouth without issue. She shares feeding time with her foster brother without a problem, politely waiting him to finish before inspecting his bowl for leftovers. She has met respectful children on our walks and is very good meeting them. She had been interested in chasing squirrels and rabbits, and a little too fixated on the cats we see on our walks. If there is a cat in the home, a proper and slow supervised ntroduction over some days would probably make a successful relationship. She will want to play, and maybe chase. Lady is full grown at 44 lbs. She is a perfectly proportioned tiny lab mix. We are working on leash manners, and those will come. A fenced yard isn't required but it is recommended. She gets the super speed zoomies and room to run and burn off her energy would be preferred. That said, she will also LOVE to hang out on the couch with you. And she is the perfect size to do that!Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from Guardians of the Green Mile Inc. We are a group of individuals that have come together to save the lives of animals that are in danger of being euthanized. We raise funds to fully vet the animals and to provide them with a stable home until they are adopted. All of the dogs in our Rescue are in Foster homes while they are looking for their forever family. The only time we put a dog in boarding is for a Foster to go on vacation if another Foster is not able to care for them. We appreciate your taking the time to fill out the application to adopt one of our Guardians of the Green Mile pets. The questions that we ask are to only find the right fit for all of our dogs and the families that will be adopting them. Adoption donation is $300.00 for dogs over 1 year old and $350 with a $50.00 spay / neuter deposit for puppies/dogs under 1 year old. Story
Rosie is a medium-sized 3-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix who weighs 52 pounds. She is an affectionate and playful girl who loves her toys. Rosie would do best in a home with no other animals. She could live in a home with kids. Rosie was tested for heartworms and Lyme disease, and was negative for both. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to go home.

Story
Phillip is a mature German Shorthair mix and extremely handsome. True to his breed, he has a strong prey drive and is not a fan of smaller animals in his home. Phillip needs to work on building his confidence, and will most likely need some training in new situations. A fenced yard is required since his previous home had one, and he is used to that for his outings. Phillip is certainly a prince and a charmer, so come meet him soon.DOB 9/16/13 68 PoundsI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes. Look at this face! Beau sure is one handsome boy that is all ""Doodle"" including smarts and plenty of energy. He is looking for someone to continue with his obedience training, so he can be a wonderful and fun companion. He is somewhat protective of his possessions, so a home without children would be the best fit for Beau. We have not introduced Beau to other dogs or cats at this point. If you have the time and patience to work with this guy, especially teaching him to share, he is a wonderful loving dog.
