To schedule a time to meet her, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Came from a situation where she did not get the socialization and exposure to new people and environments that dogs typically get from puppyhood; because of this she startles easily and will require time, patience and the understanding that she may prefer a more "low-key" life - Shy at first, but once she is comfortable with you, she will greet you with kisses and big tail wags and may even want to crawl into your lap - Would sleep in bed with her previous owner - Really opens up around other dogs - she has become great friends with a dog in her foster home - and would benefit from a confident dog friend in her new home - Young, noisy or busy children will likely be too much for her right now, so she's looking for a more mature home - We don't know her history with cats All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Brown Age: 1yrs 1mths 1wks

He is a very great and loving dog. Unfortunately, hes not the best around my infant daughter. Hes decent around her but I cant trust him around her alone so I need to rehome him. He is a cuddler but he does bark a lot! He is almost 3 years old in March 2026. Very well potty trained and loves to be active as much as possible.

Toby is a special boy looking for a forever person. He's 4.5 years old and 65 lbs, fully house/crate trained, loves walks and going on car rides. He was owned by an older couple who unfortunately had to go to assisted living so they surrendered him. He lived with an older husky in his previous home but doesn't love most other animals in his space. He does well meeting new people one on one and when he trusts you he will be the best protector and loves to give kisses. He would do best with someone who has a calmer lifestyle and wants a buddy to follow them around and watch out for them. He's had a couple different homes now so would love to have a true forever place of his own! If interested in meeting this dude, please put an application in at www.foreverhomedogs.org!All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

Jax is a handsome 85lb lab mix guy looking for a retirement home. His previous owners had to move and couldn't take him with them, so he's ready for forever. He is house/crate trained and *loves* exploring the yard and barking at squirrels. He's been fine with easy-going dogs who don't take over his personal space and would be fine as the king of his castle as well. He is always down for a walk or car ride and just wants to be part of a family of his own.
