Story
Meet Baxter 🐾 Baxter is a sweet, affectionate boy who takes his job as a professional snuggler very seriously! Give him some attention and he’ll happily soak it all up. And if you stop petting him before he’s ready, don’t be surprised if he gently paws at you to let you know he’s not finished yet. ❤️ Baxter loves being outside, enjoying tasty treats, and having a good chew toy nearby. He’s also a great little travel buddy who rides nicely in the car and walks well on a leash. Baxter enjoys the company of other dogs, but he’s just as happy hanging out with his people. He would do best in a home with another friendly dog to keep him company and help him feel comfortable. When meeting new people, Baxter can be a little timid at first, but it doesn’t take him long to warm up. Once he does, his affectionate personality really shines! Baxter is crate-trained and stays comfortably crated when his people are away. He’s a loving, easygoing companion who would make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a loyal cuddle buddy. Baxter’s favorites: 🐶 Other dogs ❤️ Snuggling and being petted 🌳 Spending time outside 🦴 Chew toys & treats 🚗 Car rides 🐾 Leash walks If you’re looking for a sweet boy who will happily be your shadow—and remind you when it’s time for more pets—Baxter may be your guy! His $550 adoption fee covers his interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the midwest For an adoption application on BAXTER click here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Thank you for choosing rescue!!

Story
Hello! My name is Arlo! I am a 6-year-old male labradoodle, and I’m looking for a loving home. I am microchipped, neutered and current on all vaccines. I am well trained, and know all the basic commands. I sit by the door when I need to go potty. I’m pretty much a couch potato, but would love to go for a walk! I do tend to pull on my leash when walking, I’m so excited by all the smells, but I am a quick learner and with more practice I will improve. I do have a sensitive stomach, and occasionally have to eat chicken and rice for a few days until my tummy settles down. I eat Purina One dog chow. I have had two small seizures in the fall of 2025. My vet says that is not uncommon for a doodle. They don’t seem to affect me in anyway and I’m back up and running around in just a few minutes. I’m on no medications at this time. I have a Seresto flea and tick collar. I’ve never had a flea, a tick or heartworms. I’m great with kids and other dogs.

These pups are in Pacific, Missouri too!

Story
Meet Your New Best Friend 🐾 This sweet 40-pound Lab mix has been patiently waiting with his foster family for two months, and we think he’s starting to wonder if anyone will ever choose him. But we know his perfect match is out there — and once you meet him, you’ll see what a treasure he truly is. Friendly, social, and always ready for a cuddle, he’s the total package. His perfect medium size makes him big enough for outdoor adventures but compact enough to curl up comfortably right by your side (or in your lap if you let him!). He loves meeting new people and greets everyone like an old friend. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs! Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, a game of fetch, or a cozy movie night, he’s happiest just being with his people. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate pup who will shower you with love and keep your couch warm, this sweet snuggle bug is ready to finally find his forever home. 💙 Come meet him and show him he’s been worth the wait.
