Story

Iris is a big old sweet girl. She is about 7 years old (maybe 8 by now I need to pull her records). She was my son’s dog until he moved away. She loves cuddles. She doesn’t realize she is such a big dog and wants to sit on your lap. She can be lazy but loves running around outside. She does great around kids and she lives with a cat. She is very gentle hearted. She never bites. If she hasn’t seen you in awhile, she’ll jump on you when you walk in door but if you’re around daily, she doesn’t do any of that. She’s not a fan of 4th of July but she’ll just sit in her kennel or hide in a bedroom and be just fine. I’ve never had a dog before and I am sad to have to do this, I am relocating and cannot take her. Heartbroken really. Oh, and she loathes the mailman. She never has accidents in the house. She doesn’t love bathes but she’ll take them. She likes getting brushed, but doesn’t like getting groomed.

I'm a sweetie but get very excited when playing or when you come home. I can get a little mouthy, which comes from my young age. We are working on my manners but will need strict parents to keep up my work in progress. I am already house trained so that will leave lots of time for us to get right to the fun stuff. I do love going for my walks whether it's around the neighborhood or going on a sniffari on nature trails. I AM NOT a couch potato and will need an active family that will provide me lots of daily exercise, playtime and adventures. I come in at around 45lb of pure love, 45lbs of happy to see you, 45lbs of tail wags and those melt your heart puppy dog eyes, 45lbs of I'm ready for whatever you're up to doing!! Look at this cutie right here. Everyone let's meet River. She is such a beautiful dog, very sweet and makes us all laugh. She is a little bit on the hyper side, but we think it's because of everything going on at the shelter. She does know basic commands like....sit, stay and paw. She could always use some more training. I mean what dogs couldn't....will just make them a better dog. Anyway back to River this gal seems to be ok with other dogs, so she would need to be introduced correctly to make sure everything is a go. She also loves to run and will need a family that is active so she can get all of her energy out. Come meet River asap so she can be in her forever home! River's $200 Adoption Fee is quite inclusive.
