Lucy absolutely lives for attention—if you’ve got hands, she’s ready for belly rubs, and she’ll happily soak up all the love you’re willing to give. She definitely leans more Lab than Poodle, bringing that classic goofy, outgoing energy with her wherever she goes. Lucy has plenty of enthusiasm for life and is always ready for the next adventure! Because of that, she can be a strong puller on the leash, so she’ll do best with someone who can keep up with her energy and help her continue working on her manners. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate dog who will keep you active and make you laugh, Lucy is your girl. She’s ready to find a home where she can get lots of love, playtime, and of course—endless belly rubs

Oh Pickles! This pretty girl has had a rough life. She had people, everyone became homeless, they stayed together as long as they could, but they all went hungry. She came to us a little traumatized and starving. She is shy, but will warm up. She prefers to be with another dog and does well with large and small dogs and seems indifferent to cats. Do you have a great dog that would like to teach her the ropes? The good news is that Pickles was accepted into the Cell Dog Program at the Mansfield Correctional Institution. The supervised inmates have been teaching her obedience, proper leash training, house breaking, commands, socialization and all the things a dog needs to be a great pet. Adoption fee is $300 All Ashland County Humane Society animals' adoption fees include: ~spay/neuter ~micro-chip ~de-worming ~vaccinations, including rabies ~heartworm prevention If you are interested in adopting this dog, please visit: www.ashlandhumane.org/adoption-application (copy and paste link to address bar) for a printable application. Complete and email back to applications@AshlandHumane.org We are an all volunteer-based organization that does not have a building or a staff, only 8 members with jobs and families, trying to make a difference. Meet Rocket 💗🐾 Rocket is a Miniature Poodle who was born in September, 2021 and weighs 14 pounds. Rocket is shy. He can be nippy if someone swoops in too quickly and scares him. We are working on this and he is improving. If you are patient and get down on his level, he warms up and enjoys cuddling and interacting. He is clearly very curious and wants to get involved, but is timid initially. He is friendly with other dogs. He also was found to have severe dental disease and had to have all but 8 teeth pulled. Rocket is a recent arrival from a high volume breeder in Amish country and probably aged out of the baby makin' business. Being rescued from a high volume breeder doesn't mean there is anything wrong, The dog could have been the wrong color, size, fur, whatever or now retired from breeding. We are lucky enough to work with a vet in the area who cares enough to scoop up these dogs and get them adopted instead of ........??
