**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Benny. I'm about 3-5 years old and I weigh about 35 lbs. I was found as a stray in the Lisbon area and I was brought into the pound. I am a sweet little guy. I've been very pleasant around all of the people and other dogs I've met here at the pound. I am good in my crate and I do my best to keep it clean. I will likely need some work with potty training, but appear to have been a house dog at some point. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Story
🐾🤎 Meet Henry! 🤎🐾 Looking for a fluffy best friend who's equal parts goofy, cuddly, and lovable? Meet Henry, a handsome 4-year-old, 40-pound Labradoodle with a heart as big as his zoomies! ❤️ 🐶 4 years old and 40 pounds of fluffy fun! 💖 The sweetest boy who absolutely adores his people 🐕 Dog friendly and loves having canine buddies 🐱 Cat friendly, too! 🦴 Professional bone chewer (it's his favorite hobby!) 🧀 Food motivated—treats make learning extra fun! 🏡 Crate trained and potty trained 🚶 Working hard on his leash manners 🤗 Champion snuggler who loves curling up with his humans ⚡ Full of energy and still figuring out the best ways to channel it 🎓 Working on his manners and trying his very best every day 🚧 Can clear a baby gate like an Olympic athlete, so he'll need a securely fenced yard (4 feet or higher)! 👨‍👩‍👧 Would do best in a home without young children. Because of his anxiety around kids, an adult-only home or one with older, respectful children is recommended. Henry is a fun-loving guy who wears his heart on his fluffy sleeve. He can get excited and sometimes isn't quite sure what to do with all that enthusiasm, but with consistency, exercise, and lots of love, he continues to make great progress. If you're looking for a doodle with a big heart, a playful spirit, and endless snuggles to give, Henry just might be your perfect match! 🐕💕 Age: 4 years Adoption Fee: $450 MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training and grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters

Story
Dante is a 1 year old lab mix. He is the sweetest soul - gentle and intelligent, but playful and funny too. He’s about 68 lbs and very athletic, but knows how to relax in the house. He is neutral toward other calm dogs, and is wonderful with our senior female. Things are escalating with our other male (who has anxiety issues), and we’ve made the difficult decision to rehome Dante.Dante is very shy with strangers. He was homeless for his early months, and we think he may have had some bad experiences with people, so it takes him time to warm up. His new home will need to go slow and be patient with him. The good news is that he is super treat and toy motivated! Once he trusts someone, he becomes an entirely different dog - confident, loving, silly, and deeply loyal.Because he needs patience and calm while he adjusts, Dante needs a home with no small kids - adults and/or calm, patient teens only.
