Duck is a great dog. It’s hard letting him go. I just don’t have the active lifestyle that he needs. Ever since my other dog died he all of a sudden has become bad with the kids. Never bitten. He growls at them when they walk into a room. Then the next minute he is climbing all over them. He would do well in a single dog home. With someone who can give him the attention he deserves.

If you've been dreaming of a curly-haired cutie with puppy-dog eyes and a whole lot of love to give, Connor would like a word! This handsome boy is a 4-month-old, 20-pound F1 Labradoodle mix with a big heart, oversized puppy paws, and a serious appreciation for human attention. Connor and his five siblings found themselves in a not-so-great shelter in South Texas. Thankfully, we stepped in to give all six puppies a second chance, and now Connor is ready to find the family he was always meant to have! This boy is happy, social, and absolutely crazy about people. After getting less attention than a puppy deserves during his short life, he's making up for lost time! If you're sitting down, expect company. If you're giving out belly rubs, expect a line of one. And if you're looking for a loyal little shadow, Connor is happy to apply for the position! He also gets along wonderfully with other dogs, so a canine sibling would be a welcome bonus. Of course, he'd be perfectly happy soaking up all the love in a home of his own, too. Now, let's talk about the Doodle in the room: Connor is still a puppy! He's a smart little guy, but he's starting with a pretty blank training slate. His new family will need to teach him the basics, work on manners, and help him grow into the wonderful adult dog we know he can be. Patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, and plenty of playtime will go a long way. Ryder is a 4-month-old, 20-pound F1 Labradoodle mix with the softest curly coat and the biggest, goofiest puppy smile you've ever seen! Ryder and his five brothers and sisters were rescued from a not-so-good shelter in South Texas. Thankfully, all six of them are now safe, healthy, and ready to find their forever families. This super social, happy, and loving boy absolutely lives for people time. After not getting nearly enough cuddles and attention in his short life, he's making up for it big time! He'll happily follow you around the house, crawl into your lap (even when he gets bigger), and give you endless kisses. Ryder does wonderfully with other dogs too, and he would love having a furry sibling to play and grow up with. Ryder is still very much a blank slate when it comes to training. He hasn't had much structure yet, so he'll need a patient family willing to teach him the basics: potty training, crate training, leash walking, and manners. The good news? He's a smart cookie! With consistency, positive reinforcement, treats, and lots of love, he's going to learn fast and become a wonderful, well-mannered companion. Ryder will thrive best with an active, patient, and caring family who's ready for all the fun (and occasional chaos) that comes with raising a young doodle. Back in December 2024, Big Family Rescue got an urgent call about a litter of puppies four hours north of us. They were only six weeks old, and their condition was heartbreaking. Overrun with worms and coccidia, the pups were so sick they were barely hanging on. We dropped everything, made the late-night drive, and brought them home. At first, it wasn’t clear if they would survive. They were frail, lethargic, and malnourished. But with intensive care, medicine, and round-the-clock attention, the puppies slowly began to fight their way back. One of those survivors is Woody. Now nine months old, Woody has blossomed into a goofy, energetic, and affectionate boy. A unique Hound/Labradoodle mix, he’s healthy, strong, and full of life. Where once there was fear and fragility, now there’s joy and playfulness. Woody loves to run, explore, and clown around — his zest for life is contagious. Every wag of his tail is a reminder of just how far he’s come. From near-death at six weeks to a thriving young pup today, Woody embodies the heart of rescue: hope, healing, and second chances.

These adorable 9-week-old bundles of chaos came to us after an unplanned breeding in Lancaster. Mom is a German Shorthaired Pointer and dad is a Labradoodle. While some may have inherited dad’s looks, personality-wise these puppies are all Pointer! Currently growing up in foster care, these babies have been raised alongside kids, dogs and cats, giving them lots of early exposure to the busy world around them. They are super social, smart, vocal, mouthy and VERY active. They love to play, explore, investigate everything and keep their humans on their toes. They’ll thrive with active families who are excited about training, enrichment and giving those busy little brains and bodies plenty to do. Because they’re currently in their tiny-piranha stage and particularly mouthy, homes without very young children are preferred. If you’re looking for a quiet little couch potato...keep scrolling. But if you want an adorable, intelligent, energetic little hellion who will keep you laughing while you help them grow into an amazing dog, this litter might be exactly what you’re looking for! Meet Almond: Almond is about a 12 week old (as of October 15, 2026) lab / heeler mix (best guess) that weighs 15 pounds. This adorable litter of mixed nuts (Hazelnut, Macadamia, Pistachio, Cashew, Almond, Chestnut, Peanut and Walnut) was unexpected surprise for the parents owners. These loved pups were surrendered to our rescue, but the owners are keeping mom and dad and have appointments already set to have them spayed and neutered to avoid this happening again! We are thankful that these cuties will have the opportunity for a great life ahead. Almond is being fostered in the south and would love to catch the next freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families! Almond and her littermates are all very, very sweet and friendly pups! Almond is loving and affectionate, and is full of playful, puppy energy. Almond has been great with all people, including children, and has gotten along wonderfully with all of the other dogs she has been around. Almond is working on house training, but as a young puppy, she will need some patience while she continues to work on the process. We would love for Almond to have a home with a fenced in yard for her to run and play freely as she grows - playing outside is one of her favorite pastimes. Almond is crate trained and working on her leash walking skills. Almond is up to date on her puppy shots and will need to be spayed when age appropriate. Meet Loretta: Loretta is about a 3 year old (as of July 2026) lab mix that weighs about 35 pounds. Loretta was found with her sister, Patsy, near a dump site on a country road in the south. A nice man found them and brought them to us and we were able to get them into the rescue. Loretta is currently being fostered in the Lancaster, PA area and would love to meet her forever family. Loretta is as sweet as can be! This cutie is a petite gal that is very loving and friendly. Loretta's charm shines when you meet her. She is a total love bug and loves giving kisses!  Loretta is very shy when first meeting her and will need a family that will be very patient with her in taking her outside and letting her know she will not be forgotten or abandoned again.  It will only take a few weeks for her to adjust with her new family. Loretta loves to play with other dogs and is very submissive. Loretta is medium energy and will romp and run around but then settles to chill inside. We think Loretta's ideal home would have a companion dog to play with and a fenced in yard. Loretta loves children and is very gentle. She was a little wary of the cat she met, but didn't bother with it and was seemingly indifferent to the cat. Loretta loves water - she would happily accompany you on a trip to a lake or hike along a creek! Loretta is working on her house training and has done great with routine breaks outside. She is crate-trained. Loretta needs a little help with leash training, as she pulls when she is walking. Loretta is up to date on her shots and spayed.
