My name is Lucas and I am 7 years old and very sweet. I love cuddles and will follow you and be by your side. I love being a faithful companion. I don't bark much. I love chew toys, balls, and my big bed. I am trained to stay in the yard with no fence, you just have to show me my perimeter and practice it with me. I don't chew things up or destroy stuff, my mom says Im a pretty chill and well behaved guy . I do sometimes resource guard with bones and sticks in the yard so my mom no longer give bones. Im on monthly preventative for fleas and ticks( Simparico Trio). I have disc disease in my back so I take gabapentin daily for pain management. Over all I manage fine I just cant rowdy play and I go for shorter walks. I need a home with no young kids and no other dogs. My mom is only rehoming me because I am struggling with the arrival of a new baby. So for safety reasons, we are making changes. If you would like me as your companion, send my mom a message and we can meet!

Back in December 2024, Big Family Rescue got an urgent call about a litter of puppies four hours north of us. They were only six weeks old, and their condition was heartbreaking. Overrun with worms and coccidia, the pups were so sick they were barely hanging on. We dropped everything, made the late-night drive, and brought them home. At first, it wasn’t clear if they would survive. They were frail, lethargic, and malnourished. But with intensive care, medicine, and round-the-clock attention, the puppies slowly began to fight their way back. One of those survivors is Woody. Now nine months old, Woody has blossomed into a goofy, energetic, and affectionate boy. A unique Hound/Labradoodle mix, he’s healthy, strong, and full of life. Where once there was fear and fragility, now there’s joy and playfulness. Woody loves to run, explore, and clown around — his zest for life is contagious. Every wag of his tail is a reminder of just how far he’s come. From near-death at six weeks to a thriving young pup today, Woody embodies the heart of rescue: hope, healing, and second chances.

Meet Blackjack: Blackjack is a 9 month old (as of April 2026) lab mix that weighs 50 pounds. Blackjack was in a high kill outside shelter and next on the list to be euthanized. We are so thankful we were able to spring Blackjack from the shelter before it was too late! Blackjack is being fostered in the Columbia, PA area and would love to meet his forever family! Blackjack is very, very sweet! All Blackjack wants is to be your shadow. Blackjack is shy but comes right to you. Loud noises can make Blackjack a little skittish, but he will run right to your side for your protection and reassurance. He loves to play and then snuggles right up on you to take a nap. Blackjack is good with other dogs, people and children. As a puppy, Blackjack will need some patience while he works on his house training. Blackjack is crate trained but could benefit from leash walking training. We would love for Blackjack to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play freely. Blackjack is up to date on his shots and is recently neutered. Meet Miz Bizkit: Miz Bizkit is about a 2 year old (as of June 2024) lab mix that weighs 57 pounds. Miz Bizkit was a neighborhood stray in the city who found a random house to have a litter of puppies under. Miz Bizkit and her pups were wondering around looking for food when animal control was called to get them to safety back in 2023. The puppies (food litter) were all adopted out and Miz Bizkit stayed with a souther foster for heart worm treatment and socialization. Miz Bizkit has completed her treatment and is now ready for her forever home. She is looking to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania nto meet more prospective families. Miz Bizkit is a sweetheart and loves every adult she meets! She’s mostly independent and not much of a cuddler, but she loves back scratches! Miz Bizkit prefers a calmer environment. Miz Bizkit absolutely loves to play ball - she will play keep away though so having 2 balls to switch out makes for a more fun way to play. Miz Bizkit is very food and treat motivated; she knows sit, shake, and listens well. Miz Bizkit has worked with a trainer for a few weeks and they have assessed that she does well and is happiest when she is familiar with the people and dogs she is around. She can do well with savvy older kids or teens. With other dogs she does well with slow, thoughtful introductions and in a calm setting; she is an alpha dog and will show her dominance. She would do best as an only dog. She is sweet with adults and not overly reactive with strangers. Miz Bizkit is a great girl for the right fit. Miz Bizkit is housetrained - she hasn’t had any accidents in the house while on a routine break schedule. Miz Bizkit is leash trained and crate trained and she rides well in a vehicle! Miz Bizkit will need a physically fenced in yard for her to run and play freely. Miz Bizkit is up to date on her shots and spayed. Meet Lucy:Lucy is a beautiful 3.5 yr old Lab Mix that weighs around 66 lbs. Lucy was once someone's pet, but unfortunately her owner couldn't care for her and Lucy was left to wander the streets. Sadly, this resulted in her being struck by a car, fracturing her hip. Her owner then surrendered Lucy to our rescue. Thankfully, her hip has completely healed on its own and you'd never know she was hurt! Lucy loves people and kids. She is very loving and laid back in the house. She loves walks and exploring in the woods. Lucy loves car rides and swimming! She is doing better walking on a leash, but like most dogs she can be distracted by squirrels and other wildlife. She can sometimes be a bit dog selective and we feel it would be best if she was the only dog in a home.   Lucy is spayed, up to date on all her vaccinations, and on preventatives.
