Story
Hey! I'm Twinkle! I'm big star with a big wish. To find my forever home! I was surrendered to the shelter after being retired from the breeding life. I hope you won't let my size and age fool you. I still have lots of energy and love to give! I would be happy in almost any home and and open to children of all ages! I could also live with another dog with a proper introduction. I don't know how I feel about cats but am open to try with a slow intro. Since I'm used to "farm life" I will need help learning to ropes when it comes to housebreaking. Do I sound like the perfect dog for you? I probably am, so come down to the shelter and lets meet!---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Miles was originally rescued in Arkansas as a puppy due to a hoarding situation. He was adopted by me and my son in August 2023. Unfortunately, due to job loss I am being forced to sell my home and move in with family. I am unable to take this boy with us and it is heartbreaking. Miles needs to be in a home with a yard that he can run. He spends a lot of time outside and prefers to be outdoors whenever possible. He is wonderful with children but I would recommend the child be at least 5 and experienced with dogs. Miles is extremely loving and gets very excited (we have been working on his jumping). He is crate trained, and fully house broken. He is 1 year old, UTD on all vaccines until August 2024. All of his items including his crate will be provided. We are heartbroken to part with our boy but we want him to have the best home.

Story
Ellie came into our lives by accident, she was left at our house my the previous owner because he wasn’t able to care for her. Over the years she has been a sweetheart- she loves love loves children, loves to snuggle and play, and is even happy just staring at you. She can walk unleashed and will remain by your side (a few friends tried to be sure and she never left anyone). Ellie can remain home alone for up to 12 hours with no accidents. In our home, she has always had a doggy door the last two years, but we have taken it out several times for training while we are at work. Ellie is self-sufficient when it come to hygiene- we always say she is a princess because she crosses her paws and is always trimming her own nails. We recently had our own newborn, and also have a 6yo, and 3 dogs total. Nothing is wrong with Ellie, we just have to revoke to of them because it is alot of work unfortunately. Ellie’s only flaw is- when she farts, you will definitely know. She’s the sweetest🩵

Story
I got her as a puppy. Her birthday is in Oct so we just made it as Halloween to make it easy. She's 3 now. She is actually a very good dog. She has never bit a person, kid or cat or anything at all. She will chase though. But she never bites. She's a baby all bark no bite. We have cats that live outside and won't leave and I've seen her chase the cats and catch them and then all she does is try to play with them. I've seen the one cat walk right up too her and rub up against her. So I know she won't hurt them. She loves to run. She loves the water as well. Swimming and playing in it. She's very affectionate and loves to sleep beside you if you'll allow it. She is very smart. Overall she's honestly a great dog and the only reason I want to give her a better home is because of my schedule. She's always alone now. And I feel bad because I can see it makes her sad. I got her when me and my wife were together but since we separated She's been alone alot. I just want her to be happy again

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Leeda is a sweet sweet soul.  She absolutely LOVES the outside!!!  She is content to wander around the fields all day long!  She would be perfect for someone who has a large fenced yard where she can roam to her hearts content.  She loves people!RequirementsLarge Fenced YardVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!July 23, 2024, 8:06 pm

Story
Ice is so lovable, over protective, loves to give hugs and receive belly rubs. I’ve had him since he was 13 wks old, he is now 7 and the reason for me wanting to re-home him is my schedule has become so crazy that I feel I don’t have the time he deserves and needs. He usually roams the house at free will, but sometimes he is caged. I am looking for a loving home someone to give him more attention than I can provide, possibly with a backyard so he can run wild or someone who will walk him 2-3x day (that was our normal)
