Story
If you were to google what it meant to be “Man’s best friend” you would read about a dog’s ability to be a person’s most faithful and supportive companion, their loyalty, their unconditional love, and lastly the devotion man’s best friend has to offer. Every once in a while, you might be lucky enough to meet a dog that is the literal definition of a man’s best friend. Let’s roll out the red carpet for a very special boy named Jayce aka Jaycee Boy. You don’t come across dogs like him very often, he truly is one of a kind and he holds a very special place in everyone’s heart. He is your soul dog, your ride or die, partner in crime, and your dog that you brag about to everyone. Jayce is your best friend. If you don’t mind people always associating you with your dog, always asking about him at family gatherings then you need to adopt Jayce because that is exactly what is going to happen when you bring him home. His foster mom says one of his best qualities is how devoted to his people, and we say one of his best qualities is how devoted his people become to him. He’s so incredibly engaged and present with his humans, so lovable and full of personality. Watch his video and you’ll find you have found your best friend for life: https://youtu.be/KcZ6haxUaCo?si=4fpFY5VTfkbhZnmb Jayce is a Lab/pittie mix approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 80 lbs and is full grown. He’s a big guy, but very gentle. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee the breed or age. We can guarantee that you’ll be gaining a lifelong best friend by adopting Jayce. Jayce is a dog people fall in love with, and fall in love hard. He has the personality of an old friend- funny, familiar and easy to spend hours with. Jayce has a very expressive face that makes him easy to connect with, he’s one of those dogs that just immediately feels like a member of the family. Jayce embodies love and loyalty, if you’re looking for a best friend, he’s your guy. Jayce is the ultimate companion dog, he’s affectionate with his family, communicative and expressive, funny and silly, an avid fetch player and such a smart boy. Despite how loving he is with his people, Jayce promises to never pull your arm off looking for love from a stranger. He’s very “human” about his interpersonal relationships, he knows how weird it would be for a human to kiss their neighbor on the mouth, so he acts accordingly. Jayce will take a moment to get to know you before professing his love, but… psst- don’t tell him we told you this- Jaycee boy's heart is easily won with Pupperoni, and then it's game over. Jayce is also an incredibly intelligent boy and already knows a handful of tricks. He knows how to auto-sit for treats, knows how to shake, is crate trained, knows the command "kennel," walks well with a gentle lead, is potty trained, and he knows how to “puppy-dog-eye” his way into all night snuggles. He responds so well to positive reinforcement, and we believe you could do just about anything with this dog because of it. Want a “hobby dog” to teach off-leash skills, agility or party tricks? Jayce would love to learn, and he’ll love you all the more for it. He bonds with his people through training and leash walking as well, making further training not only enjoyable and practically rewarding, but incredibly emotionally rewarding too. He has a wonderfully balanced energy that allows him to be content just calmly hanging out. Jayce can be very lively and playful at times but also a calm cuddle bug that just wants to lay on the couch with you watching movies all day. He loves being near his people and his foster parents occasionally let him sleep in bed with them. On the nights that he does get to sleep with them, he likes to snuggle right up with you, rest his head on your pillow and look up at you until he falls asleep. His balanced energy also means that he's a great work from home buddy too! His foster mom works half days in the office and then the other half at home. She says that he is a great companion if you work from home because he's never getting into things he shouldn't be and she doesn't have to about him being mischievous if he's not in sight. For the most part, she says he is pretty much laying next to her on the couch, bed, or by her feet while she's working, playing with a toy keeping him self entertained, or playing with their small dog. He has just the right amount of independence while also being affectionate as well. Jayce is currently fostered with a large pointer male that isn't interested in playing for the most part with other dogs and he gets along great with him and also respects their larger males boundaries. He is also fostered with a 25 lb small dog that is so fun, outgoing and playful. That is Jayce’s best bud! They are a hoot together and they love to play. They will share toys together, play chase in the back yard, and wrestle together too. Jayce does have a more rowdy playful and enjoys those rough and tumble moments, but if you watch his video, Jayce is very respectful and listens to their small dog if the play get a little too rough. You'll also see too that Jayce had no issues with their small dog playing with his toys and even taking them from Jayce every now and then. Jayce is similarly “human” in his interactions and prefers to get to know other dogs a bit before becoming his silliest, and happy self. He would do best in a home with a dog similar in temperate as the ones he is currently fostered with and also with a dog that will allow Jayce to settle into his new home. Jayce loves to be outdoors as well. If you find yourself in the garage tinkering often, Jayce would love to watch you work. He would make an excellent hiking or walking companion too. He has the confidence for the most treacherous hikes, a vital skill for a hiking companion, and he never tires of being outdoors. A testament to Jayce’s confidence: fireworks don’t faze him! His foster dad was so impressed with us that he let us know after their Fourth of July together. He loves water too, he gets so excited for the doggy pool. We could see this handsome fella enjoying lake house life, or long weekend campouts on the river. One of the favorite things that his foster dad loves to do with him, is playing fetch and tug of war outside and simply just hanging out. He loves the fact that know what he is going, Jayce wants to be there in with him in some way or another. He is seriously the definition of Man's best friend. Jayce is an easy to love dog. His ideal pawrents lead a semi-active, and adventurous life while also enjoying the quiet and simple moments in life. We believe Jayce would thrive in a home in a suburban or rural area with a backyard rather than in the heart of the city in an apartment with all that hustle and bustle. He would also do best in a home where he is essentially your "baby." He is happiest in a home with adults where he can relax, play, and be his full silly self without the unpredictability of little ones around. Jayce is ready to come home to you. He’s worth every bit of slowness, mindfulness and attention he will require in your first weeks together, he will surely repay you with lifelong loyalty and friendship. We are willing to test Jaycee Boy with anything you need us to in order to ensure he is the perfect match for you. We can make most anything happen, just let us know. His adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below, would be more than happy to answer any specific questions you may have about Jayce. Alayna, a director at 3LP, has kindly placed her phone number at the below as well, if you would like to chat over the phone! Meet Jodi! Your dog’s new best friend!! Jodi is kindness in canine form. Simply being around her makes my joy levels go up to 100 percent! Jodi is 37 pounds consisting of mostly legs! She is a strikingly beautiful lab mix with a soft and subtle red coat whom we believe to be about 1 year old. But due to this lovely lady being a rescue, age and breeds are not guaranteed. One thing we know for sure is that this girl LOVES to hang out with her doggy friends! In her video below you will see the entertainment and fun that Jodi brings to a group! https://youtu.be/XYGymL2smCk Upon first meeting Jodi, you will notice her gorgeous amber doe eyes and her fox-like tail. She approaches you gracefully and softly, welcoming you with gentle glances and subtle tail wags. Her long, slender legs are hard not to admire as she enters the space. She is a whole moment. The thing I appreciate the most about Jodi is how she loves when another dog enters the room. She helps the meek dogs become brave as she offers her easy going companionship. And she just as effortlessly matches the energy of a confident canine, romping around with them with precision and speed. When Jodi is by herself, she is a bit of a shy girl. She doesn’t need the spotlight to feel valued. She truly blooms when another animal shares her space. Because of this, we believe she will do best with another doggy friend already in the house. She also doesn’t mind the feline friends. She is cautious as she reads the room to make sure that her kitty mate is comfortable. If you have a dog savvy cat or a cat who doesn’t mind puppy sniffs, Jodi will fit right in! We consider Jodi to be a cat tolerant canine. In her video you can see multiple scenes of her hanging out with our house cat, Biggie. Do you enjoy exploring? Jodi would love to be your excursion buddy! She is a curious adventurer and would do well in a house with a fenced yard over an apartment. Plus it’s super sweet to watch her relax and sunbathe in the grass! But really, she just wants to see what the world has to offer! All she needs is a leash and a friend to accompany her. As far as roommates, Jodi is pretty go with the flow. She isn’t going to be the dog rough housing with the kiddos. But she will definitely play gently and calmly with them. You can see in the video how well she does with Kobe (4) as they play together and aren’t too much in each other’s face. I want you to imagine spending your days watching Jodi play with your other pets as you laugh at their silly antics. She will never leave your family short of entertainment and companionship! She is full of life and she is ready to find her furever family! If a friend is what your doggy needs then Jodi is your choice indeed! Apply for Jodi today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/67f90a2cec1d505f5c0269f5 Questions? Netflix and chill anyone? Calling all homebody enthusiasts! We have found the perfect boy for you! Finn is the ultimate good boy with the blockhead. I’m not sure if he thinks he is full dog or full potato! He loves to give kisses with his massive tongue and to be fed treats out of the palm of your hand. His signature move is belly rub begging L O L and you will see that consistently throughout his video below. https://youtu.be/ikvE4g7QTlg Finn is 82 pounds of pure love! We believe he is a black lab pittie mix and about 2 years old. Due to him being a rescue, age and breed are not guaranteed. But no matter what he is, you will want the joy of experiencing the vibe that is Finn! Don’t let his weight deceive you, Finn is pure teddy material! As soon as you enter the room, Finn will greet you with a lick, a wag, and a roll, promptly expecting belly rubs in return. He is not interested in running or hitting the gym. He wants lazy days every day filled with treats and affirmation. He prefers the life of pampered luxury. Due to Finn’s size, he may be best in a home over an apartment! But he doesn’t require a lot of exercise and he is definitely not looking for vigorous walking. So, if you don’t mind a tight squeeze of living space, any size apartment will do as well. He is a bit of a mosier and tends to get worn out easily, so keep in mind that stairs and long walks to get to a potty space will be a bit strenuous for him. Finn isn’t the first one to be picked in a game of tag or chase. But he may give you a good run in tug of war. He has no issue with doggy friends as he lives in a foster home full of puppy siblings! But he may not be the best partner for a sibling expecting tons of play partnership. Finn would honestly be fine as a solo pup as well. The adoration of his humans is what he craves the most. Do you have kids? Finn would love to help keep them company! He had so much fun playing with our staff’s kiddos aged (4) and (5). He absolutely swooned over getting pats on the head and treats galore. He wasn’t phased at all by their screaming or jumping off the couch. He was just happy to be a part of the fun! Finn really likes the dog life. He wants to be the prime pet to bask in all the good sun spots by the window. He should be in a home with no cats to avoid any turf wars for lounging locations. I imagine Finn’s motto would be “It’s all chill vibes man.” He is going to be the perfect addition to a family just looking for a boy to cuddle with and snuggle with. He’s the type of dog that is going to leave an imprint on his family’s life forever. There are some dogs that are just pure to the core, and Finn is one of them. Are you ready to adopt this cuddle bug? Apply below! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/67e1c1295f1c558389059753 Questions?
