Meet Baxter 🐾 Baxter is a sweet, affectionate boy who takes his job as a professional snuggler very seriously! Give him some attention and he’ll happily soak it all up. And if you stop petting him before he’s ready, don’t be surprised if he gently paws at you to let you know he’s not finished yet. ❤️ Baxter loves being outside, enjoying tasty treats, and having a good chew toy nearby. He’s also a great little travel buddy who rides nicely in the car and walks well on a leash. Baxter enjoys the company of other dogs, but he’s just as happy hanging out with his people. He would do best in a home with another friendly dog to keep him company and help him feel comfortable. When meeting new people, Baxter can be a little timid at first, but it doesn’t take him long to warm up. Once he does, his affectionate personality really shines! Baxter is crate-trained and stays comfortably crated when his people are away. He’s a loving, easygoing companion who would make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a loyal cuddle buddy. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. Prairie Dawn is a wonderful puppy and will make a great goofy companion! She plays with toys well, chews on bones and is learning to walk on the leash. She sleeps through the night in her crate and goes potty outside - so smart!! Prairie D has met new adults and was friendly. She is also friendly with new dogs and is politely curious about playing before she joins in. Meet Janeanne! A little timid when I first meet you but super loyal and mellow once I get to know you. I am house trained and will wait patiently on the couch while you are out. I love sleeping in your bed for as long as do (no need to get up early) but am ok in crate too. I do great with other dogs. Am a favorite of both little ones and big ones. Hi, my name is 🛴Scooter!🛴 I am 2 to 3 yrs old & weigh about 45 lbs. I have a lot of really great things going for me:☑House trained☑Leash trained☑Shy, calm & gentle☑Great with children☑Gets along with all types of dogs☑Loves walks, runs, & car rides☑Calm & gentle out in public, at beer gardens, breweries, etcMy foster mom says I'm a thinker, so I'm not the dog that runs up to you & jumps all over you, I'll stand quietly & sniff your hand when I'm ready. I'm less shy with kids, I seem to trust them more. There's been a bunch of different dogs at my foster home, & I have gotten along with every single one of them, I seem to sense what each dog is comfortable with & adjust myself to them.But my past wasn't great, & I'm still getting over that. I was adopted down in Texas, but became a stray again & was on the run for several months. I wouldn't let anyone catch me, & barked at people to stay away from me! I was in survival mode for a long time, but now that I have loving humans around me, I get really nervous when they leave me! My foster family is working on that, but I do need a calm & patient family that is willing to give me the time I need to realize that the people I love will always come back. I do best with another dog friend, when I was alone in my foster home I shrank back inside myself & lost all my progress.
