Ascella is good- good with other dogs, good with people (though a little bashful) - just an all-around good dog. She loves to run and play with other dogs but she is also content to lay around and relax. Overall her personality is quite laid back. She's taken on more of a hound dog looks as she reaches adulthood. Please note: Ascella is a climber!

Story
Oh.. Hello. My name is Zena and my birthday is on January 6th. I've been at Second Chance Shelter in Boaz Alabama since January 6th of 2022. I came to the shelter after I had been hit by a car. The vet said that my hip and leg was broken. I was afraid I might lose my leg but the vet fixed me up and with lots of TLC, I survived. I have a bounce in my step after I healed. I give little 'woo woos' in excitement! I'm so glad it was Second Chance Shelter that came to my rescue. I couldn't walk, was so skinny and that night it was going to snow. Now, I'm still pretty shy but with a little patience I would love to be your best friend.

Story
Oscar is a Lab/ Rhodesian mix boy that is 3 year old! He loves life and came to the rescue with his siblings when they were young puppies. He was adopted but then life happened and Oscar came back to the rescue. He is a sweet boy and weighs about 60 lbs. This big boy did come back to the rescue with Osteomyelitis in his mandible or lower jaw, possibly from an injury. This is an infection of the bone which is treated with antibiotics. While the infection has been treated, this has left Oscar with a build up of excess bone on his lower jaw. This does not cause pain and also does not require medications  or further treatment. Oscar is doing well now and is a wonderful boy to work with. He is good with dogs, cats and kids, and is HOUSEBROKEN! He has been neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and is heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $250.July 18, 2024, 10:23 pm

Shaggy is heartworm negative, with all his annual vaccines and rabies shots up to date. Before he joins his new family, Shaggy will be neutered and microchipped, ensuring his health and safety for years to come. Shaggy is a delightful companion who loves nothing more than exploring the world around him. Whether it's going on long walks or simply enjoying a leisurely ride in the car, Shaggy's zest for life is infectious. He may even tuck his head under the seat for a cozy nap, relishing in the comfort of the dark when he's feeling tired. Outside, Shaggy is eager to work alongside you, but inside, he longs to be a cherished member of your family. He enjoys playing with his stuffed animals and cuddling up on the couch with you, especially when he's feeling sleepy. Providing him with a blanket to cuddle under adds an extra level of comfort, helping him feel safe and secure. Shaggy is a well-behaved pup who excels on the leash, except when nature calls and he simply can't wait. In those moments, he may show his playful side by over-sleeping, but it's all part of his adorable charm. Shaggy has proven himself to be great with older kids and has shown no issues around other dogs or cats. While he may throw a little tantrum when it's time for his shots, a little reassurance and patience go a long way in helping him overcome his fears. If you're interested in learning more about Shaggy and providing him with the loving home he deserves, please don't hesitate to reach out. He's eagerly awaiting the chance to become a cherished member of your family.
