This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more.  (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter).   The first step is to our Adoption Application here:  https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html .   IMPORTANT – we respond to your emailed applications and queries via email back to you.  Please make sure you have either added our email  (hselco@bellsouth.net)  to your contact list or that you routinely check your SPAM folder for our response just to be safe. Story
Hey Guys! My name is LJ and I am one big happy boy! I am a two-year-old retriever/lab mix that is full of love and life! I had a home and family that I loved dearly! Problem was we were out in the county and we had livestock as did out kind neighbors! Well I chased the livestock and that was not good, but I just couldn't stop myself. My family did everything trying to help me behave with farm animals, but nothing worked. Finally it was decided that I needed to live with another family that didn't include farm animals. I have all of my vaccinations, I am heartworm negative, I have a microchip, and I have been neutered. My family only had great things to say about me! I am a sweet dog that is already crate trained and I take care of all of my business when I go outside. I hope to be in a new home soon, but please no horses or cows!

Story
Duke is deaf. He is a sweet loving dog who loves to be petted and cuddled. I adopted him and his brother from the Human Society as puppies. He will be 2 in November. He knows some signals-sit, no, stop. I use a vibration collar to help with barking. He is very reactive (I think to being deaf) to/with other dogs and watches closely how to respond to a situation. I have never had a problem with him being aggressive to a person. He has never really been around young children. He is active and loves walks and to be outside.

Story
Mateo is a 5-month-old male Black Lab mix. We don't know what he is mixed with but he is not going to be a big guy. He was found in a city park and no owner came to claim him.  Mateo is black with white markings; and he is adorable!  He weighs only 21 pounds and we don't think he will get much bigger.  Mateo is playful and would add joy to any home. He is a very sweet guy who has been at the shelter most of his life.  Mateo would be just fine with children and other dogs. If you have been thinking of adopting a wonderful new friend who won't get very big--Mateo might just be the one! Dog/puppy adoption fees are $100.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $50.  July 15, 2024, 2:48 pm
