Story
4 year old Lola is a survivor. She was pregnant and living on the side of a river, and surviving from scraps from a stranger. Eventually a kind stranger managed to get her and her puppies into shelter. Lola is a beautiful Mexican special mix – her pups look like small black labs – she may be a shepherd x terrier x lab mix. She’s her own mix of very special girl. Lola is lower energy, but spins in excitement if you might be so kind to toss her a ball, or when her dinner is ready. Check her out here: https://www.instagram.com/pvcaanimalrescue/reel/DR-vk8YksCo/ Lola is careful with strangers at first but also VERY affectionate. Lola isn’t keen to go far – she prefers the safety of the sanctuary – perhaps worried she may be dumped again. She is looking for a quiet loving home. She is healthy, spayed and vaccinated. If you think you might be a fit, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Please check your junk mail for our response.

Story
Meet Nube who is looking for a home. Nube is a 4.5 year old mixed breed, full grown at a perfect 45 lbs. We think she may be a lab cross, with a gorgeous white coat, and beautiful markings to round out her unique look. She shares space with other dogs and enjoys playtime in the yard with them. Nube is friendly and affectionate with shelter visitors with a lovely disposition. She is medium energy - with enough energy to keep up, but would also be grateful for some chill time to make up for missed cuddles. Mostly she would love her very own family. Nube hasn't been tested extensively with cats. She sees them without reacting, but for now, we will seek a home without cats to be sure. While Nube is lovely with people, she's not been specifically tested with kids. Nube is spayed and vaccinated. She is missing some of her front teeth - likely a result of escaping shackles or surviving on street scraps. If you think you might be a fit for this beauty, as her chance at a forever home, or as a foster along the way, she'd love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com

Story
Patricio is the absolute perfect love bug. He has a sweet gentle disposition – he is lovely with everyone he meets. He has a joyful spring in his step when he sees people, and he also happily finds joy in any toy that might come his way, finding his own happiness in the little things. He likes to gather shelter toys and put them near his bed, revelling in the joy of having anything good come his way. Patricio is about 4 years old. He is good with dogs and cats, and walks nicely on leash (including past cows, chickens, bikes and trucks). Patricio is a lovely and compact 38 lbs. His quiet happiness also means he’s not much of a barker – rather he watches the world happily waiting for his next chance at affection. He likes to crawl into your soul for cuddles. Patricio is a distemper survivor who has a slight tic in his jaw as a result. This brave boy not only survived distemper, but hasn’t let that impact his happiness. Whoever gets this little man is very lucky. Patricio is medium energy – happy to accompany you whenever and wherever. Check him out here: https://www.instagram.com/pvcaanimalrescue/reel/DRTWFowkZ0P/ If you think you might be his chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Story
8 year old Yesenia is a lab x boxer looking for a home. Yesenia was surviving when kind strangers might feed her, but had to be a strong resilient girl. They suspect she may have been used for breeding and was subjected to having her tail docked. When they no longer wanted her they just left her to fend for herself. Yesenia reads people well and likes to be comforted by them. Yesenia prefers male dogs and isn’t a fan of cats. She is spayed and vaccinated, weighing a perfect 45 lbs. **JOAQUIN is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**Age: 2 yearsWeight: 44.5 kgA little about Joaquin: - kids unknown - cats / small animals unknown - limited history with other dogs, potential for select other dog following successful dog-to-dogA big, goofy boy with a love for snow, meet Joaquin! There`s nothing more he loves than playing, bouncing around being a silly boy, and getting lots of tasty hypoallergenic treats! Because Joaquin can be quite exuberant and gets easily over-excited, he`ll do best in a home that would be able to help properly re-direct him so he can learn proper doggy manners. Having lived with other dogs before, there`s a chance that Joaquin may do well with another dog in the home following a successful dog-to-dog! It will also be important that Joaquin`s family is prepared to feed him a hypoallergenic diet as he is prone to skin issues. So what are you waiting for? Come say hello to Joaquin today!

Story
Age: 7 yearsA little bit about Max:-Kids: Has history living with children. All interactions should be supervised. Recommended to go to a home with people 8 years and older due to size.-Cats/Small Animals: No history with cats. All interactions should be gone slowly and over a period of time.-Dogs: Has history of living with dogs in the past. Potential for dog in home with successful dog-to-dog interaction. Reactivity has been noted in shelter.Max is a fun-loving, high-energy boy looking for a family who’s ready for adventure. This enthusiastic guy has lived with kids before and would love a home that can match his zest for life, but we recommend going to a home with older children, as max can be quite enthusiastic and forget how big he is, and he is still working on his ideal doggy manners. Max thrives when he has plenty of exercise, whether that’s long daily walks, exploring the outdoors, or lots of time playing in the yard. Max has lived with dogs in the past, but he’s shown some reactivity toward other dogs (as well as trucks and buses) so his future family will need to help him continue working on calm, positive experiences. When Max wants attention, he’ll let you know, as he’s quite the talker and isn’t shy about barking to get your attention! Max does have some medical care that would be required by his future family, but our adoptions team can tell you all about that. Underneath all that energy, though, he’s a big-hearted boy who just wants to be included and loved. If you’re looking for a spirited, outgoing companion who will happily join you on every outing, Max might be your perfect match!
