Story
Sammy is a sweet, social boy with a huge heart and a wiggly bum! He’s thrilled to meet everyone he encounters, including young kids, and greets new friends with enthusiasm. Sammy adores his humans and firmly believes he belongs as close as possible at all times; whether that’s curled up beside you or attempting to be a lap dog (regardless of his size), snuggles are non-negotiable.This high-energy guy loves his daily walks and would make a fantastic adventure buddy for an active home that enjoys getting out and about together! While Sammy’s past is a bit of a mystery, he may do well with other animals given slow, thoughtful introductions. In a previous foster home, he did interact wonderfully with a 5-year-old and would likely love little humans to run around with! Sammy does have allergies, but it’s been very manageable with the right diet and medication, and it doesn’t slow him down from living a full, happy, love-filled life! He’s ready to bring joy, energy, and endless affection to his forever family, the rest is up to you!Sammy is:- good with kids- open to dogs (minor reactivity in shelter)- open to cats but did fixate in a former foster home

Murphy is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, please fill out the request form here: Adopt From Foster Form. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as he is not available to meet on site.Meet Murphy! This sweet, playful pup was found as a stray, and while the shelter was overwhelming for him, he is thriving in his foster home. There is still a lot that we don`t know about him, but he is teaching us more and more each day. Murphy is full of puppy energy and loves attention! He may jump or whine when excited, but with guidance from his foster family, he’s learning to sit calmly and redirect his chewing to toys. Loyal to his core, Murphy is always happiest when he`s with his people. His endless array of awkward sleeping positions and penchant for belly rubs are sure to bring a smile to your face when you`re having a rough day.Murphy is a quick learner and already almost has a “spin” mastered! He loves to play, cuddle, and be near his people, and he’s happiest when he’s mentally and physically stimulated. With patience, positive reinforcement training, and lots of love, Murphy will continue to turn himself into the perfect companion. When it comes to other animals, Muprhy has been polite and respectful of other dogs and animals he sees out and about, so with slow introductions and management he has great potential to fit in well with your resident pets.If you’re ready for a devoted, affectionate, and fun-loving pup to join your family, Murphy is ready to meet you and start his next adventure!Murphy is:- open to kids- open to cats- open to dogs

Story
4 year old Lola is a survivor. She was pregnant and living on the side of a river, and surviving from scraps from a stranger. Eventually a kind stranger managed to get her and her puppies into shelter. Lola is a beautiful Mexican special mix – her pups look like small black labs – she may be a shepherd x terrier x lab mix. She’s her own mix of very special girl. Lola is lower energy, but spins in excitement if you might be so kind to toss her a ball, or when her dinner is ready. Check her out here: https://www.instagram.com/pvcaanimalrescue/reel/DR-vk8YksCo/ Lola is careful with strangers at first but also VERY affectionate. Lola isn’t keen to go far – she prefers the safety of the sanctuary – perhaps worried she may be dumped again. She is looking for a quiet loving home. She is healthy, spayed and vaccinated. If you think you might be a fit, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Please check your junk mail for our response.

Story
Meet Nube who is looking for a home. Nube is a 4.5 year old mixed breed, full grown at a perfect 45 lbs. We think she may be a lab cross, with a gorgeous white coat, and beautiful markings to round out her unique look. She shares space with other dogs and enjoys playtime in the yard with them. Nube is friendly and affectionate with shelter visitors with a lovely disposition. She is medium energy - with enough energy to keep up, but would also be grateful for some chill time to make up for missed cuddles. Mostly she would love her very own family. Nube hasn't been tested extensively with cats. She sees them without reacting, but for now, we will seek a home without cats to be sure. While Nube is lovely with people, she's not been specifically tested with kids. Nube is spayed and vaccinated. She is missing some of her front teeth - likely a result of escaping shackles or surviving on street scraps. If you think you might be a fit for this beauty, as her chance at a forever home, or as a foster along the way, she'd love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com

Story
8 year old Yesenia is a lab x boxer looking for a home. Yesenia was surviving when kind strangers might feed her, but had to be a strong resilient girl. They suspect she may have been used for breeding and was subjected to having her tail docked. When they no longer wanted her they just left her to fend for herself. Yesenia reads people well and likes to be comforted by them. Yesenia prefers male dogs and isn’t a fan of cats. She is spayed and vaccinated, weighing a perfect 45 lbs. If you think you might be Yesenia’s second chance as either a foster or adopter, she’d love to hear from you by emailing us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com or going direct to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw.
