Story
Age: 1.5 yrs  Sex: Neutered Male Estimated Breed:   Weight: unknown  Good with dogs: Unknown   Good with cats: Unknown Good with children: Unknown   Special/Medical Needs: Shots UTD  Energy Level: Unknown Current Location: Airdrie Facility    Scout was surrendered along with his brother Tigger.  There were 4 well looked after dogs in the family.  Unfortunately, circumstances forced the family to move into smaller, overcrowded housing.  Their neighbors complained of barking, so they were forced to surrender these sweet two boys.      Scout is a lot more comfortable the Tigger.  He has settled in and warmed up to everyone at the facility.  He’s an absolute sweetheart, but he likes to hold your hands/arms in his mouth when he’s happy.  He’s very gentle about it, he didn’t hurt me, and he wasn’t showing any kind of aggression.  While it is cute, it is herding behavior and we are working to stop it.  He is very stubborn about going outside but otherwise he is a happy boy.  He played in the snow and has been pretty happy.  He just wants to be petted.  ##1620732##

Story
Poor mom dog Gorda has had a rough life on the streets of Mexico. All of her last litter got parvo but thanks to Stray Dog Support Inc. stepping in to help they all survived. She needs a safe place to land when she finally arrives here. Healthy. Diet is adult dry dog food with low fat, no coloring, non-preservatives, and boiled white rice.  Dog Name: Gorda Breed Mix Labrador Retriever Sex Female Age 6 years aprox Birth Date Unknown Weight 14 kgs Color Brown Spayed/Neutered Spayed Vaccinated Canigen® MHA2PPi/L, Canigen® MHA2PPi/L, NOBIVAC KC, NOBIVAC RL, NOBIVAC DHPPi Good with women Scared Good with men Scared Good with kids Yes Good with other dogs Scared Good with cats No. She will bark at them. House trained At times she will sleep inside but still doesn’t trust humans much, can only be handled by my son, and touched by Gyus. The day I rescued her she bit me.   Crate trained No Separation Anxiety Yes, from her babies Energy level Low Can be handled/touched Difficultly Barker Yes Flight risk (likes to escape) Unknown Food aggressive No Walks on leash Not well Rides well in car Usually calm when hugge. Need a home with a fence Yes Can the dog jump fences Yes Can the dog live in apartment Yes Needs a home with another dog Yes, used to being around his siblings Current food Nutrescan Any known allergies None Favorite activities e.g., chase ball Play with plush toy and balls Please write any comments or notes about the dog that you think we should know. She is a very insecure dog, I think she was very mistreated and ran away from home, because she enjoys being indoors but always asks for her space. To vaccinate her and spay her had to put her in the crate because she tried to run away, when I try to pet her she will put her head against the wall and trying not to see me in the eyes, she avoids eye contact and t was very hard to care for her after spay she did allow me to clean her wounds but would show her teeth, she tried to bite me once. She is very sweet and always happy to see us, more the kids when they arrive from school, but very insecure.  I think she suffered abuse on the streets, so it’s so hard for her to trust people.   ##1775337##

Story
Age:  Approximately 6 to 9 months Sex:  Female (spaying will be covered by BARC’s) Estimated Breed:  Lab X Weight:  Approximately 40 lbs Good with dogs?:  Yes Good with cats?:  Unknown Good with children?:  Older children Special/Medical Needs:  No Energy Level:  Medium   Glee is a sweet, snuggly, and playful little pup. She loves to follow me around the house and lays down close by to watch what’s going on. She is medium energy. She is happy to just lay on the couch with you and snooze, but she is just as happy to play with other dogs and her toys. She has met the neighbor’s young kids and was very happy to greet them. She was a bit jumpy but she just seemed SO excited to see them. With more training she will definitely learn to not jump up. She’s just a happy, excited pup right now. She is not shy of meeting new people and is welcoming to anyone entering the house. She doesn’t bark much either, except when she’s playing with other dogs. She also travels well in the vehicle, usually choosing to just lay down on the seat and nap.   Although timid and shy at first, she warms up quickly to other dogs she meets. She loves a good wrestle and enjoys being outdoors. She shows no aggression to other dogs or our resident cat. She mostly ignores the cat but has on a few times tried to initiate ‘play’ by giving him a little nose nudge. A quick ‘leave it’ and she moves away.   She has shown some food aggression (growling) towards both our animals, however she is fine with people close by or even petting her while she eats. She is fed in her kennel (to give her space) and happily runs in when she sees the food bowl. We’ve been working on ‘leave it’ and over the past week she has learned to leave the other dogs food alone while he slowly grazes. This is definitely something to watch as she is easily tempted by food and would definitely eat his bowl too if given the chance.   Glee is a very smart girl. She picks up on commands quickly. Because she is HIGHLY food motivated, she is interested in training and figuring out how to get that snack! In a week she has learned Sit, Lay Down, and Leave It (80% success…but she’s getting there!).   The first night she cried in her kennel for about 10 minutes, but then slept quietly throughout the night. Every night after that has been great. She goes in, doesn’t whine, sleeps through the night and has no accidents.   She has had a couple accidents inside (only pee), but is definitely making progress! She will not pee in her crate though.   We are still working on leash manners, but it is improving! She doesn’t pull, but she does need coaxing to keep walking with you. She will sometimes just plop herself down and stay there. A bit of kibble in your pocket helps to get her moving again. Glee will do anything for food!   Glee would do best in a home with or without another dog playmate. She loves to play but she also loves to soak up ALL the attention she can get. She’s more interested in following the humans around then she is the dog. Without a playmate in the home, Glee would be best suited for an active couple who enjoy the outdoors or a family with older children. She will definitely need a yard to lay around in and hang out. She really is a very sweet and smart dog.   ##1262872##

Story
Hera  Around 6  Fully vetted 36 lbs Good with most dogs - needs proper introduction      Should be fine with kids.  She matches her energy to those around.  If I'm working, she just snoozes or hangs out.  But if I get her excited, she gets excited.  But older kids/dog savvy kids shouldn't be an issue.  She loves people ##1785650##
