Story
This amazing girl really needs no introduction because she has touched so many lives. But, if you haven`t had the pleasure of meeting this sweet soul, please allow us to introduce you to Daisy. She literally arrived at PACC near death and if it wasn`t for the special TLC showered on her by staff, volunteers, and especially her amazing foster family, she wouldn`t be with us today. We can`t say enough about this brave, courageous, sweet gal. Her strong spirit to live and her `can do` attitude have been remarkable and heartwarming. When Daisy came to PACC, she had one of the most advanced stages of Valley Fever ever seen by the medical team - she was all skin and bones and weighed a mere 25 pounds (which later fell to 22 pounds when rocks were discovered in her stomach!). She could not stand, walk, or even lift her head; she had to be hand fed and given fluids through an IV. Daisy has been in an incredible foster home for over a year and thanks to this loving couple and the force behind them, Daisy not only survived but she learned to be a dog. Daisy still occasionally falls down and needs help to get back up. She usually has to be lifted on and off the bed, but she`s such a smarty she`s figured out how to use an ottoman as a spring board to do this herself now! She`s also on numerous medications and will, most likely, always require medical care and some therapy. Daisy would do best in a home with someone who can spend plenty of time doting on her and giving her the love and affection she craves. She will need a playful, active home with a family who is willing and capable to take care of her ongoing medical needs. She does well with children but we recommend they be a bit older so they don`t knock her down.

Story
Duke is a gentle senior citizen who is back in the shelter after a stay in foster- here’s what we learned:- Housebroken - Crate trained- Walks well on leash- Enjoys hiking- Affectionate- Knows tricks- Loves to be around people (needs slow intros to strangers)- Loves car rides - The BEST cuddle bug- Would love to find a family who is home with him often Duke is VERY popular at the shelter too- here’s what his friends have said:“Today I walked Duke and we worked on his leash skills. He loves to sniff and is very affectionate. Duke knows sit, stay, down, come, shake, away, touch, go to bed, go to mat…shall I go on?”“Today Duke and I had a great walk together. He has abundant curiosity and loves investigating various smells on his walk. Over the course of our short time out together, his leash manners improved rapidly once he got out that initial excitement. We had a pleasant walk together, enjoying the sunshine. He is a fun and cheerful little guy with a radiant smile.”“What a friendly and energetic pal! Duke was well-behaved and seems very responsive to his walker. We went to a play yard and practiced his tricks. He was so attentive and smart. We ended our time with a belly rub.”“I’ve been spending time with Duke since he returned to the shelter, and he is a very sweet, people-oriented boy. He does a good “sit” and “paw” and is very treat motivated. He enjoys being pet all over and makes good eye contact. The last time I had him out, he did some adorable army crawls then would roll over for belly rubs! This poor guy has had a rough time since he returned to the shelter, and really needs a patient and understanding forever home.”Duke is looking for a special home where he can be near his people as much as possible and can have a yard to run around in. He’s been appropriate and independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup and would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. He would also thrive as your one and only. Please ask to meet Duke today!

**Adopt Terrance: The Loving Lab Mix Looking for His Fur-ever Home! Hi everyone, my name is Terrance! I'm around 8 years old and proudly sport a lab mix look, weighing approximately 75lbs. Let me tell you a bit about myself - I absolutely adore playing ball! It's one of my favorite pastimes, and I could spend hours chasing after that bouncy little thing. I'm also a friendly boy, and I get along well with everyone I meet! Even though I have been around small children in the past (4-years-old) I must admit, sometimes I forget how big I am, and I might accidentally knock over a little one in all my excitement. That's why older kids are recommended for my new family - I want everyone to stay safe and happy! Road trips are a blast for me! I ride like a champ in the car, and I love going on adventures with my humans. Petting is my ultimate weakness, and I can never get enough of it! I walk well on a leash but pull at times from excitement. I'm a well-behaved boy who knows "sit" and takes my treats gently - I believe in savoring the delicious moments! If you're an outdoor enthusiast, I've got some fantastic news for you! I make a fantastic hiking buddy and would love to join you on all your adventures in nature! I have shared a home with dogs and cats and did well but a proper introduction is still required. I am so ready to find my fur-ever home and shower my new family with love and companionship. If you think you could be the one for me, please complete an application so we can set up a meet and greet. Story
Scully is an active three-year-old golden retriever, who loves to play and cuddle. She loves playing so much that she often squeals and whines in delight when retrieving her favorite toys. She is very proud of them and loves to show them off. We are rehoming her because she does not get along with our other dogs. We believe that she will be better off as an only dog. She is accustomed to one of her owners being home most of the time, so the ideal home for her would include minimal to no kenneling. She behaves well outside of the kennel and can be left unsupervised. She has undergone general training and knows basic commands. She also has a few medical conditions to consider: 1. She has a thyroid condition that she is on pills for. The pills cost around $20 per month. 2. She suffered a corneal abrasion in her right eye when she was around 4 months old. We believe that she has not completely regained her eyesight in that eye, but it does not appear to hinder her.
