Story
This amazing girl really needs no introduction because she has touched so many lives. But, if you haven`t had the pleasure of meeting this sweet soul, please allow us to introduce you to Daisy. She literally arrived at PACC near death and if it wasn`t for the special TLC showered on her by staff, volunteers, and especially her amazing foster family, she wouldn`t be with us today. We can`t say enough about this brave, courageous, sweet gal. Her strong spirit to live and her `can do` attitude have been remarkable and heartwarming. When Daisy came to PACC, she had one of the most advanced stages of Valley Fever ever seen by the medical team - she was all skin and bones and weighed a mere 25 pounds (which later fell to 22 pounds when rocks were discovered in her stomach!). She could not stand, walk, or even lift her head; she had to be hand fed and given fluids through an IV. Daisy has been in an incredible foster home for over a year and thanks to this loving couple and the force behind them, Daisy not only survived but she learned to be a dog. Daisy still occasionally falls down and needs help to get back up. She usually has to be lifted on and off the bed, but she`s such a smarty she`s figured out how to use an ottoman as a spring board to do this herself now! She`s also on numerous medications and will, most likely, always require medical care and some therapy. Daisy would do best in a home with someone who can spend plenty of time doting on her and giving her the love and affection she craves. She will need a playful, active home with a family who is willing and capable to take care of her ongoing medical needs. She does well with children but we recommend they be a bit older so they don`t knock her down.
