Hi there! My name is Sofie and I'm at the Santa Maria Campus. I am a 2 year old, female Labrador/Pitt bull mix I am sweet, playful, and full of love. I enjoy playing with friends and lounging in the sun! Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed. Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Hills Science Diet will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission. Hope to see you soon!

In the summer of 2024 Chester was found abandoned along a highway in SoCal by a family member of ours. After about 2 months with that family member, my wife and I agreed to take him and he has been with us ever since. He is a very sweet, loving dog. He is also very easy going, doesn't bark or demand a lot of attention. I am in my 70's now and we currently live in a home with a large yard. However, we just bought a new home (a condo/townhome) that has no yard and we will be moving there soon. We feel Chester would be happier in a home with a yard and with someone who can take him for regular walks. That is why we are looking to find him a new home.
