Story
Hi! My name is Joaquin and I'm at the Santa Barbara Campus. I'm a 2 year old male Black Labrador Retriever Mix who is eager for a new home! Joaquin hasn't had the easiest upbringing. He came from a situation where he didn't get the medical care, training, or attention he deserved- but he's ready to leave all that behind and start fresh with someone who sees how special he is. Speaking of seeing... Joaquin had to have one of his eyes removed due to an injury that was left untreated but don't worry, that just makes him half pirate, half pup, all heart. And don't think that doesn't mean he can't see the treats coming! He has trained his remaining eye to focus with laser precision to look out for snacks! Joaquin is an energetic, goofy guy who's still 'learning how to dog'. Since he never got the proper training, he's starting from scratch and would thrive in a home with someone who's excited to teach him basic manners, socialize with other dogs, and guide him to become the best version of himself! After spending his life outdoors (the stress has quite aged him), Joaquin is ready to discover the joy of a real home: a warm bed, belly rubs on the couch, and next to people who will cherish him and do right by him. Can you be his forever? Interested in meeting me? Adoption Centers are open daily 12-4:30pm, closed Wednesdays. Adoptions are on a first-come first served basis. For more information please email Adopt@SBHumane.org or call 805-964-4777. When I am adopted, I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adopters will receive a certificate for a free veterinary exam and our partners at Hills will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission!

Story
Hi there! My name is Dodger and I'm at the Santa Barbara Campus. I am a goofy 1 and a half year old black lab with tons of energy and love to give! Fein left! Fein right! Tuck and roll! With energy like mine, I could have gone pro. Professional ball chaser, treat taker, water splasher. The list of my talents is so long it's starting to look like a terms and conditions contract. I'm brawn and brains with looks to match. Did someone say speed? Yea I've got that too. Hiking, running, playing at the beach. I can do it all. Ladies love me and who can blame them? I've been told this is a face every mother would love. While I do get along with other dogs, sometimes the excitement can get the better of me (I just want to meet them so bad!) so my friends at SBH are helping to teach me how to stay calm and follow directions. Do you need a star athlete? An adventure buddy? Someone to make you giggle and drain your cookie jar? Well I could be the one for you! Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed. Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Hills will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission. Hope to see you soon!

Story
HI - I'M JOHNNY, a 10-year-old pit/lab mix waiting for a foster or forever home. I'm super cute with my red & white coloring and my speckled ears! My ideal adopter is a single person who wants a companion, a pal for hanging out, walks, hikes, watching TV, car rides, napping. I love to play fetch, and I listen to basic commands. I tend to bond to one person who will be my soulmate, so couples may not be the best for me because I don't want to share the person I bond with and love. I love scratches and affection! I get bored if left alone too long, so best not to leave me out in the backyard for hours. I'm still quite agile and have been known to jump over a fence in my younger days. I'm not all that trustworthy around other dogs, especially male dogs, so it's best if I'm the only dog in the home. I'm still in good health and I'm basically looking for my forever companion to go for walks or hikes or simply watch TV and snuggle. I weigh about 70 lbs. Can you foster or adopt me? Please email me for an application

Story
HI - I'M MACY! I'm a sweet and happy 5- to 6-year-old chocolate-and-white Aussie-Lab, mix, possibly with a little pittie mixed in. I have been waiting for two years for a home and currently need a foster or forever home. I was rescued from a high-kill shelter where I had kennel mates! I'm still very active, and so would love to be with a person or people who go for walks, hikes or other outings. I love the water and car rides and am a happy girl. And I love to snuggle! I weigh about 45-50 lbs. I would love a home with someone who works from home or is retired, since I love being with my person or people. Can you open your home to me? Please email for an application.

Story
HI - I'M DOMINO! I'm a 4- to 5-year-old black Lab/Shepherd mix in need of a foster or forever home! I'm sweet, dog friendly and in good health! I was rescued from a crowded California shelter awhile back, and while there I had multiple kennel mates. I am a nice, active, loving boy who would do well with an active person or people who can take me for walks, hikes and other outings. I weigh about 59 lbs. Can you foster or adopt me? Please email for an application.
