Story
Harley is a beautiful big 83 pound boy who has recently been rescued and welcomed into the NMDR family. He is a happy-go-lucky guy who loves everyone he meets. He loves to be near people and seeks out affection from them. He has done well with every dog he's been introduced to, though he doesn't quite realize his size! Harley is leash trained and would be a wonderful hiking buddy. Harley would do best in a home that can provide him with mental stimulation and physical exercise to help relieve anxiety and adjust to life in a home. While he isn't required to go home with another dog, we think he would enjoy the companionship of another furry friend, especially if he would be left alone during the day while his humans are at work.Harley is a big goofball and brings a smile to everyone he meets. If you are interested in meeting this ray of sunshine, fill out an application on our website today!Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. Because some of our dogs are very under socialized, they may not be a good fit for young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
* Needs a calm, patient environment * Needs a five-foot fenced yard to keep him safe Graham, a 7-year-old Labradoodle weighing 46lbs, is a sweet and observant fellow, discovering the joys of peace and comfort in his new environment. He delights in simple pleasures like snacking on snow, scratching his back along the fence, and wagging his tail happily during morning strolls in the yard. His favorite pastime? Long naps in the sunshine, rotating between his favorite spots outdoors. While Graham may initially feel hesitant indoors, especially at night, he simply needs patient and understanding companions who can help him build confidence and trust. With a quiet and consistent home environment, preferably with a yard for his outdoor naps, Graham will blossom into a beloved companion, cherished for his gentle soul and endearing quirks._____Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. Story
#### Meet Venus, a gentle, two-year-od female Labradoodle weighing 42 pounds. Reserved by nature, Venus tends to stay in the back of her kennel, preferring to observe her surroundings. When nervous, she may bark, but she'll cautiously accept tossed treats without approaching the visitor's hand. Although shy, Venus shows curiosity and will make eye contact, though she may be a little jumpy. She's hesitant with fast movements and loud noises but enjoys the company of other dogs, especially her kennel mate. Venus will require patience and understanding as she learns to overcome her fears and build her bravery, reassured that everything is safe. Venus comes alive outside in playgroups with other dogs. She splashes excitedly in the pool and zooms around with her canine friends. Venus will require another dog in the home to help her feel safe and teach her the ways of the world. She is not yet leash trained, so she will require a fenced yard. With time and care, Venus eagerly awaits her chance to find a loving home at National Mill Dog Rescue. ----Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. Story
Meet Boomer, an almost 2 year old labradoodle. Though he is shy with humans, he is warming up quickly with the help of his dog friends. Boomer loves to romp and zoom around outside in playgroups, and can often be seen with a tennis ball in his mouth! He is learning to walk on leash and does best when walking with another dog. Boomer will require another dog in the home to help show him the ropes and provide him with comfort. He also asks that any children in the home be 10 years or older, as he is startled easily by quick movements and loud sounds. If you're ready to meet this sweetheart, please apply at NMDR.org.Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. Story
Hello Colorado! I'm a young guy newly arrived to this colder state and so far it's pretty fun! I had a little bit of a rough start to my short life, I was found on the streets of Texas with this big injury on my face but it hasn't affected my sweet disposition! I'm still a happy go lucky, confident love bug! I may have a bit of a scar, I don't know, but I think it makes me look brave! If you're interested in a sweet young pup like me than call TCRAS at 719-686-7707 to set up a time to come meet me!
