Story
Rush (9 yrs. 63 lbs.) is a Labrador Retriever with a friendly heart and an incredible zest for life. Don’t let his age fool you—this boy is still very active and playful, and he loves being right in the middle of the action. Rush thrives on attention and is happiest when he’s the center of it all, soaking up love from his people. Because of his excitement for life, Rush will need a secure home. He can be a bit of a door dasher at times, not out of mischief, but simply because he has so much enthusiasm and curiosity about the world around him. While his golden years haven’t slowed him down much, Rush also knows how to enjoy the good life. After playtime and attention, he’s more than ready to relax on the sofa with his favorite humans. A meet and greet with any other dogs in the home is required to ensure it’s a good fit. If you’re looking for a loyal, joyful companion who blends playful energy with laid-back cuddles, Rush may be the perfect match for you. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

I got Baloo from a box of puppies up in the mountains back in October. He was only 5 weeks old. He’s very sweet and very active. He’s been kennel and house trained. Our older adopted dog has become aggressive towards him and he’s no longer safe in our home. 💔

Story
She is the sweetest, calmest and most loving 38 lbs of fur. She takes a bit to warm up to people, mainly men. Not a fan of being approached with a hand reaching over her head. Definitely would thrive in a home with children 12 and over who will respect her space. Loves her tennis balls, as well as a nice hike or walk. Totally housebroken! Very proud of her. Sleeps in her bed next to me. Loves car rides, and sits nicely while waiting for her destination.....hopefully a park! She has never growled, bared teeth, or acted aggressively in any way. She is just a timid girl, and given some time and TLC, you will have the best dog ever. Thelma goes and sits by the door if she needs to go outside. She knows: Sit Stay Down Wait Shake Thelma takes treats VERY softly.

Story
I adopted Ruger at about 6 months old. She was born in July 2016 and is now 9 years old but she has not aged since the day I got her. She is lively and loves to go on walks and play. She likes to cuddle up in your lap or on her bed in front of the fire place. She would do best in a home as the only pet. She does love kids and will play nicely with them. She is really a super sweet dog. She does have a strong prey drive for birds, squirrels, rabbits, other small animals and cats. She does not get along with other female dogs and sometimes struggles with males as well. She does have anxiety during the fourth of July with all the fireworks. Her anxiety for other things like thunder is less but she still has some. She has some anxiety for being left alone but does well in a kennel. She can climb and dig so you will need to take that into consideration. I have to rehome her as she doesnt get along with our other dogs and it breaks my heart.

Story
Dennis is a smart lab/pitbull mix. Originally found abandoned near the Broadmoore as a puppy. Born April 2024. VERY sweet, lovable boy. Easy to walk. Likes cats and dogs. Well-behaved. He already knows sit, down, play dead, rollover, stay, and paw. He likes to swim at Lake Pueblo, too! Current food: wet food 2x a day, on top of yummy kibbles♡ Unfortunately, it's a difficult decision but I'm unable to keep him due to a change in my circumstance.

Story
Chase (formerly Kodiak) is on the case to be your Valentine This sweet little love bug adores cuddling up with his people and his doggie siblings. He's learning how to play with the big dogs and loves all the new chew toys he's discovered.  He is a great eater and is happy to finish up any food left behind by the other dogs. He hasn't displayed any type of aggression.  Potty training is a work in progress, but we're getting the hang of the puppy pads.  He will serenade you with a sweet love song before settling down in his crate.  He gets so excited for walks and he's even been known to do a little dance! This pup is ready for action and up for an adventure. He will do well in a house with kids of all ages!
