Story
Vega is a 6-year-old Lab Retriever mix weighing 79 pounds, and she’s full of enthusiasm and friendliness! This happy girl loves being around people and brings a warm, upbeat energy wherever she goes. She walks nicely on a leash and enjoys getting out for strolls, especially when she has a buddy by her side. Vega is bonded to her best friend, Apollo (AP26-126), and they should remain together if at all possible. The two of them absolutely love to play and can often be found happily romping around or walking side by side, making them a wonderful pair for a home ready to welcome double the love. She tends to prefer dogs her own size or larger and would do best in a home without small animals. If you currently have another dog, a meet and greet at the shelter will be required to ensure everyone gets along. Vega is a loyal, fun-loving companion who thrives on connection—especially with Apollo. If you’re looking for a dynamic duo to join your family, Vega (and her best friend!) might be the perfect fit. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Ollie is a sweet dog with a lot of energy. He a two year old lab mix. He's very cuddly and loving, and very loyal. Ollie needs some training; he's very protective of his owners, and will sometimes view other dogs as a threat. He knows some basic commands, but needs more structure. He's incredibly smart and very trainable. Mainly, he just needs space to run and play, and an owner who can devote the time he deserves to him.

Story
Delta is about three years old. We got her from the shelter when she was a little more than one year old. It's clear she had a rough start to life, since she was highly anxious and reactive to new people (especially men) and new dogs. She has gotten more comfortable over the past two years she spent with us, but she still has strong reactions to new situations. She loves to be outside, but she can be unpredictable with other dogs or people. For this reason, we typically keep her on a leash even in a dog park/open space. When she gets excited, scared, or caught off guard, she sometimes reacts by lunging and nipping. A home with a big, high-fenced yard would be ideal for her, allowing her to stay in a calm, known environment.Delta has a lot of great qualities. She is strong & energetic. She's loyal, eager to please, and follows commands well. She loves to cuddle and take naps in the sun like a cat. When she's at home in a familiar environment with people she knows, she's a very easy dog.

Story
Me and my wife are both military, an we are pregnant. We both work and do not have the time to be able to take care of her. Dahlia is 1year and 1 month old. We are sad to see her go, but we know we can’t give her the attention she needs now that my wife is pregnant. We would love to keep her but we can’t because she deserves better attention. She does great with people besides being to happy and the jumping but the minute you tell her down she listens. Ps does not like car rides!! IS VERY ENERGETIC !!!

Story
I adopted Ruger at about 6 months old. She was born in July 2016 and is now 9 years old but she has not aged since the day I got her. She is lively and loves to go on walks and play. She likes to cuddle up in your lap or on her bed in front of the fire place. She would do best in a home as the only pet. She does love kids and will play nicely with them. She is really a super sweet dog. She does have a strong prey drive for birds, squirrels, rabbits, other small animals and cats. She does not get along with other female dogs and sometimes struggles with males as well. She does have anxiety during the fourth of July with all the fireworks. Her anxiety for other things like thunder is less but she still has some. She has some anxiety for being left alone but does well in a kennel. She can climb and dig so you will need to take that into consideration. I have to rehome her as she doesnt get along with our other dogs and it breaks my heart.

Story
We adopted Bucky from a shelter in Texas when he was 9 months old. He's incredibly soft and loyal, and he wants to be with you everywhere you go (he has serious FOMO). However, he's had a few incidents that have concerned us, as we have two children (ages 7 and 8). He has never hurt them or been aggressive with them, but he has nipped at our neighbor's child (age 10). It was a level 2 bite on the Dunbar scale (teeth make contact but do not break the skin- includes red marks, scratches, and bruising). Again, we have no worries for our own children, but his overprotectiveness is our reason for rehoming him, as we have guests often. Bucky is house-trained and very energetic, so he would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard. He would do well with another dog or in a home as the only pet, because he loves to be the center of attention! We truly hate to have to give him a new home- we love him so much, and want him to continue to be loved by a new wonderful family.
