He is very skiddish at this time and would need a bit of time in a new home to settle in. Thank you for your interest in one of our doggies. Story
He is a large breed, incredibly sweet, playful boy that has been with us for over a year. We actually had Donnie and his siblings as 5 week old puppies. He was adopted when he was still very young. See below for a picture of baby Donnie. Unfortunately he was found roaming the street several months later. We make a commitment to ALWAYS take our pets back. He came back to us over a year ago and has been here ever since. Donnie loves people and attention. He is super playful, but can play too rough if allowed. His favorite game is tug of War. His favorite toy is a stuffed unicorn. Donnie is selective about other dogs and has not been cat tested. He likes kids, but due to his size and playful personality we recommend children over 10. He is a large, healthy boy weighing in at around 70 pounds. Donnie enjoys running, playing with toys, rolling in his play yard, playing tug of war, and sleeping. He also loves the water hose. He dances for the water hose on a hot day. He walks very well on a leash, keeps a clean kennel, is up to date on vaccines, and is neutered. He is a volunteer favorite. And, he is an absolute goofball. Donnie is a big boy who loves to play! He was adopted as a puppy but returned when his family moved and couldn't take him with them. He does like other dogs, but can be selective. Not sure about cats. Loves to play with his toys and ball! He was once house trained but may need a refresher course. Donnie's DOB is 12/12/2020 Our adoption package includes: -spay/neuter (when age appropriate) -microchip -full vetting (including up to date vaccinations & deworming) Visit our website to fill out an adoption application. You can also come visit our cats & dogs on Saturdays (10-2). Please visit our website at humanesocietyhoco.org and fill out an adoption application or view more info on our doggies. Story
This gorgeous lil guy is Drew. Drew came in when his family went through a hardship. He's an adorable boy with a fuzzy coat. We aren't sure what gives him that fluff, but it just adds to his irresistibility. Anyone that looks in his direction falls under his spell. He has our volunteers wrapped around his adorable lil paw. Drew is the pup thats the spotlight of every party. He plays til he falls over in exhaustion. He's quick to let one know if they haven't given him enough attention with his vocals. He gets on well with other dogs, loves toys and fetch. He also enjoys a good game of tug o' war. On walks, he tries to carry his leash in his mouth. We know in his head, he's thinking "Come on human! We're going too slow!!" When he's gotten his energy out, he's happy to cuddle up for some lovin from anyone willing to sit with him. His idea home will be active. We have no doubt he would make an excellent hiking pal, running buddy, long walks by the beach.... haha. Although it is likely he would end up in the water if that happened. Taking apps now to get Mr Irresistible into his furever home now! ##2034356##

Story
Our Jane was a very broken girl that we pulled from Lifeline in Dekalb County Georgia on August 18, 2018. She was feral, had lost her leg and was a fear biter. She was running out of chances for life. In the time that Jane has been with us, she has taken over the office. She loves to shred paper and print random things. She loves her bed and her red toys. She gets so excited and dances on three legs at breakfast time. She lets me pet her, bathe her and cut her nails. She is a great guard dog and lets me know if anyone is around. She does not like strangers but with time and patience she will love you. She needs a home that does not have small children. Jane is crate and house trained. She is about eight or nine years old. We would love to see this girl to get the loving home she has never experienced.

Augustus is such a sweet and smart boy. He is house trained and crate trained. Augustus gets very stressed when he has to be crated, so he needs a home where he does not have to be crated for long periods of time. He also needs a family that does not have other pets He loves outdoor adventures and car rides so an active family would be perfect for him.

Story
Our Onyx was only a year old and feral when she was trapped by the police. Her hair stood on end when you approached. We spent a lot of time earning her trust while she was in the pound and moved her to the rescue as quickly as we could. Our poor scared girl was heartworm positive so we got to work on her physical and emotional health. Fast forward two years and our girl has made huge strides. She adores her out and about person and is overcoming her fears of strange people and situations. She is still very alert and cautious. Onyx is crate trained, an excellent guard girl, and so loving. I hope she doesn't have to spend a third year here.
