Story
Finley is the sweetest lil guy and deserves a home that can give him more attention than what we can. He has lots of energy and loves fetch but we arent able to invest in him like he deserves. He is an inside dog and is crate trained but loves a good backyard. We have a little one just beginning to crawl everywhere and has only ever been great with him but we try to keep them separated thus ends up spending more time outside or put up. We want him to have a place where he can run around freely. Hes only shown minor resource aggression but weve always made sure he eats undisturbed. This is another reason weve decided to rehome him as we dont want anything to ever happen between him and the baby.

Story
Meet Frankie!  This gentle, affectionate pup was rescued after neglect and is now ready for her forever home. The smallest of her litter, she’s VERY smart, VERY intuitive, playful, and loves to cuddle. If you are looking for a protector, she is it! Doesn't bark unless strangers are near. She would be PERFECT for a single member home! She is 6 months old and weighs 26lbs as of Dec 1. She is learning quickly her role with the world around her.  Dumped with 2 siblings and some food, they suffered from neglect and have now been medically treated and are thriving with amazing fosters, who have trained them well. She can be possessive of her human, not wanting to share a lap with the other dogs but is learning there is plenty of love for all the fur babies! Her fosters are working with her on this and she gets special training and excercises to assist! Getting better EVERYDAY!  She is already crate and house trained. She is great with children and cats.  Her foster family believes Frankie would thrive as an only dog or with another adult dog, her size or larger, to help show her the ropes.  If you are interested in making her part of your home or more info, please apply to adopt Frankie at buttsmutts.com  ##2527528##

Name: Sweet Pea Breed: Black Lab Mix Sex/Age/Weight: Female/ estimated DOB 03/2023 /50 lbs Vetting: Up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventatives House Trained/Crate Trained: House trained/In progress Dogs/Cats/Children: Does great with family dogs and cats. Never been around children but loves visitors and meeting new people. Energy Level: Medium Before FAR/My History: My foster mom has had me since I was 8 weeks old. I was dumped on the side of the road with my other 7 siblings. My foster mom kept us all until we got too big to be together and they all left to go to other homes. I have been with my sister Lola since birth. Training Status/Commands I Know: I know how to sit, off, outside, no, and easy Working on: stay and lay Things I like: I like to follow my foster mom everywhere she goes. I like to make sure she is always safe. I guard the home to also make sure everyone is safe. Sunbathing is a way I like to pass time when humans aren’t home. I spend most of my time with my sister Lola running around and taking naps. I like to cuddle, eat treats and force humans to pet me when I want it! Things I don’t like: I don’t like pickles or bananas. Things that make my humans happy: Snoring! I snore really really loud! My sleeping positions and how excited I get when I get a treat. Ideal Family/Home: Sweet Pea would do great in a home that can give her the attention that she loves and adores. Special Notes: Sweet Pea got her name honestly. She is extremely sweet. She desires a lot of attention and love but also likes to have her time alone. Once she has gotten the attention she desires she will scurry off for some alone time. She does snore quite loud and sleeps in awkward positionsIf you are interested in giving Sweet Pea a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer. Story
Name: DaisyBreed: Labrador Retriever MixSex/Age/Weight: Female/ Estimated DOB 08/2023 /40 lbsVetting: Daisy will be spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped prior to adoptionHouse trained/Crate Trained: Totally house trained from the beginning!! She has not had one accident in our house! I have not put her in a crate.Dogs/Cats/Children: Daisy is a friend to all! We have six house cats and a neighborhood of feral/community cats that she is kind to. The first day her instincts were to chase the cats but I gently told her that cats are our friends and she is just surrounded by them I guess so she got used to it and she is so sweet with them. (Most of them tolerate her. A couple of them have befriended her and actually sleep on the bed now when she is on there too.) And she gets along great with all the dogs I have had her around. And kids too!! She is really gentle and so sweet.Energy Level: Mid. She enjoys going on walks and playing catch and playing with her toys but she enjoys lounging around the house and napping. She will match the energy level of the humans around her. But she does need and enjoy exercise and getting out. When she is offered to go on a walk – she jumps to it!Before FAR/My History: Boy I sure wish I knew! We met Daisy on July 9, 2025 driving home from North Carolina. We saw her running alongside a highway – at an intersection where there was a stop sign for one side and the other side didn’t stop. She could have so easily gotten hit. It was a rural area. We called animal control but they were closed. We even tried to drive away once and she chased our car and we came so close to hitting her. We then called police and they came and told us to either leave her or take her. This was about an hour from our house. So we took her. We thought we would see if she had a microchip and if so, get her back to her owners. Well, no microchip – and here we are. She wasn’t going to let us leave without her! Training Status/Commands I know: I really don’t have much experience owning a dog. We did teach her how to sit on command! But I mostly talk to her like a young child. I think she is really learning vocabulary. Like, “walk” “Go Pee” “treat” “Car” “Nice, Gentle” Things like that.Working on: Hmmm. Not sure about this. She is sooooooo good. She just fits right in. Which is kind of crazy because I am a divorced mom who works full time, has 2 teenage kids, 6 cats and a bunch of feral cats that I take care of – and we are managing to have a dog now which I never ever would have said I could do this. But she did just recently begin taking our shoes and chewing on them. Not too bad but enough for me to have to hunt for them around the house. So she’s not really working on this at all – I’m just keeping shoes away from her making sure she has chew toys and eatable chews around the house. Things I like: Time with my new human foster family. I love to sleep with my foster mom on her bed. I love going on walks. I love being in the same room as my humans. I love when my foster mom gives my cat siblings cat treats because I think I should have them too!! I love treats at any time. I love canned food in the morning. I love belly rubs. I love giving kisses. I love making new friends. I love playing my new game fetch with a tennis ball, till I get tired then I just lay down and smile because I am so happy! I also love car rides! I haven’t been on very long ones – but I enjoy taking the kids to school and picking them up from events. I watch intently for some of the time and then I find a comfy spot and sleep. I don’t stick my head out the window, though.Things I don’t like: Being by myself in a fenced-in yard.Things that make my humans happy: Seeing me happy. When I go poop on walks (so my human mom doesn’t worry that I have to poop while she is at work). Ideal Family/Home: One that has multiple family members that will love me and be kind to me - or if I live with one person, I would really like that person to be active and take me on walks – but not be gone all day. I like being around my humans. And I like other animals too. I like cats and other dogs too! Special Notes: Daisy is really a perfect dog as far as I am concerned. She doesn’t bark, except on rare occasions. I finally heard her bark when I was mowing the lawn in the back (fenced in yard) a couple of days ago. I had Daisy out there with me. I saw her barking loudly at the gate, and I was surprised. There was a male neighbor she did not know that had walked up to the fence to talk with me. When Daisy saw me go up to him (and I told her it was ok), she immediately stopped barking and wagged her tail and greeted him gently. She is patient and sweet and will be a blessing to any family that is ready to have a canine family member. I believe God played a role in us driving through there when Daisy was there. Daisy chose us. I will cry when we say good-bye to her but we are not her forever home. There is a perfect family out there who is just waiting for her. I know that. We just need them to find out she is here!If you are interested in giving Daisy a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer. Story
Name: Jake Breed: Labrador Retriever MixSex/Age/Weight: Male/ estimated DOB 07/2020 /85lbs Vetting: Jake is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped. House trained/Crate Trained: Jake is currently living outside in a kennel due to not getting a long with others (see below). He is very quiet.Dogs: Jake is very particular when it comes to other dogs. He has lived with them in the past, but he wasn't always nice. Since being rescued, Jake has spent time with a few dogs here and there, but it was totally on his terms. He played a little, but then he was done. For this reason, we believe Jake would do best with only one other dog (with slow introductions to ensure compatibility) or be “the one and only” in his new home.Children: Jake tends to be very skittish around them because he is not sure what they will do. He would do best with older children who can understand how to treat animals with respect.Cats: Jake has not been seen around cats, however he can be cat tested upon request. Energy Level: Jake is very laid back. Jake loves taking walks and will follow you around. Before FAR/My History: My previous owner got very sick and passed away. There were 6 of us. I was the last one that he rescued as a stray. I didn't know my dad very well, he got sick soon after he rescued me. I don't remember my previous life but I was a stray when my dad found me. I got along with my dog siblings but I was never quite comfortable around them. I do like other dogs but I need very slow introductions. I've never been around cats. Training Status/Commands I know: I know my name and respond and come when called. I walk very well on a leash.Working on: Getting Jake comfortable with new people and new situations due to an unfortunate past. But he is a big love when you get to know him.Things I like: Jake loves chewing on marrow bones. He’s also VERY food motivated and loves treats. Things I don’t like: I am very sensitive and I really like to see where your hands are when you approach me. I really appreciate a pet on my head first. Things that make my humans happy: When I sit next to them and let them pet and talk to me. He seems to just love and want to be around people all the time!Ideal Family/Home: Jake would love a home where it is quiet, no younger children around and probably would like to be the only dog. He would be great as a companion to someone who is lonely. If you are interested in giving Jake a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer.
