Story
Ninja is a beautiful 9 month old puppy rescued from an overcrowded animal shelter. How he had been overlooked for months is beyond comprehension. We took one look at those big brown eyes and we were smitten. Ninja is funny, happy, full of energy, walks well on a leash and plays great with other dogs - not too certain about cats but we can check. We know he loves children & adults. In short, he's fabulous. Puppies and Dogs are spayed or neutered, Heartworm negative, microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, and treated for parasites. They are available to inside only homes where they will be part of the family. Applications to adopt can be found at harthumane.org. Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing. If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, donations can be mailed to Hart County Humane Society P.O. BOX 1062 Hartwell GA. 30643 or online at harthumane.org. The Hart County Humane Society is an all-volunteer rescue, we receive no government funding and rely on donations to fund our lifesaving programs. ##2489679##

Story
Gucci is a very affectionate and well behaved 3-year-old male Lab. mix. Rescued from Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter, a rural always overcrowded animal control facility, Gucci's time there had run out. Hart County Humane Society volunteers couldn't turn away from our so deserving Gucci and took him in as a foster. Gucci is house/crate trained, gets along with other dogs and people of all ages. He is quiet, walks well on a leash, and loves to ride in the car. He is heartworm negative, up to date with vaccines and parasite preventatives. At 50 pounds Gucci is about the perfect size for most families, he would love a home without cats where can live inside and be a part of the family pack. Gucci's adoption fee is only $35.00 for an approved home. As with most rescued shelter animals Gucci is eager to please those who are kind to him. Story
Willow is an active, loving girl. She absolutely loves to chase a ball! Willow gets nervous, so she would do best in a calm home where she is the only fur baby however when properly introduced, she does well with many dogs. She loves people who are kind to her, and would make a wonderful walking buddy.  Willow is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and tested for parasites. She is available for adoption in a home where she will be allowed inside as part of the family.  Willow has recently graduated from PetSmart's Beginner obedience class. There is no adoption fee for Willow. This fee has been underwritten by a couple of her favorite volunteers. Small active children can make Willow nervous and reactive. She needs a home with adults or older children. ##842558##

Story
Brenda is a 3-4 year old small to medium dog that will make a loyal companion to an individual or family. She is energetic, loving, smart and willing to learn new things. Brenda loves to ride in vehicles, walk on trails and in the woods.  She's in pure heaven when playing fetch. Brenda was found in the woods by one of our volunteers and had obviously been on her own for quite some time.  Even though she had to survive on her own for a while, she is trusting and adapts to people and situations easily.  We call her a velcro dog - once she knows you, she sticks right by.  We know she loves adults, male and female, and appears to love the smaller sized version as well.  We would want all family members to meet her to ensure this is an accurate statement.  She is currently learning commands and listens well when corrected.  Brenda is up to date on all vaccines and shots and spayed. Brenda is house trained but we would not recommend her in a home with other dogs or cats. Story
Cody is a beautiful red retriever mix. He is 48 lbs,  and up to date on vaccines; he has been chipped. Cody is a funny boy and will roll over while trying to get your attention. He is very smart and is working on learning his manners now. Cody loves to run and play with his dog pal, Otto, and adores pup cups and car rides. He is a little particular about dogs he likes, so meeting a future dog brother or sister would be required. He has not been tested with cats. Cody loves to be the center of attention and would be a great companion for active owners who are willing to spend a little time training. This active boy could be your furever companion. Puppies and Dogs are spayed or neutered, Heartworm negative, microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, and treated for parasites. They are available to inside only homes where they will be part of the family. Applications to adopt can be found at harthumane.org. Story
August 2025 updateNellie is a puppy who has spent her entire little life in "the system" -- one hundred, thirteen days of it. The last month has been the BEST of her little life. She's had a foster mom and a safe home and bonded with new canine buddies, but her foster mom can't keep her after July. Nellie has learned so much in a home:🐾how to be brave in new places🐾how to traverse stairs🐾that people are often kind🐾how to use the doggie door when she needs to potty!!🐾how to be comfortable in a leash on a walkNellie is a ham! She is so funny and silly and will make you laugh, especially with her afternoon zoomies! Unfortunately Nellie is on her last few days before she has to go back to the shelter. She has thrived in foster care, finally feeling confident, and returning to the shelter will be really tough on this sweet girl.💔 She needs a foster takeover or adopter to save her from going back. She is timid with humans at first but WONDERFUL with other dogs. Surely your pup needs a playmate! Please consider fostering or adopting this sweet girl. Her brother, Cartier, is still in the shelter as well. They both have spent far too much of their lives there.Chanel is a young, playful pup with a heart as big as her wagging tail. Friendly with both people and other dogs, she’s a social butterfly who’s always ready to make a new friend. Chanel loves squeaky toys, fetch sessions, and especially splashing around in the water — the pool, a puddle, or a hose, she’s all in! Her joyful energy and sweet nature make her the perfect companion for fun-filled adventures and cozy cuddle time alike. Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet. Fees:Dogs over 6 months old: $100Puppies under 6 months: $200. Cats and Kittens are $75 ($65 without microchip). For your convenience you can fill out an adoption application for any of our current residents at www.moaspets.com. Join us on Facebook athttps://www.facebook.com/moaspets. It's a great way to stay up to the minute on the furry 4 legged friends we have looking for a loving forever home. We are located at:1888 Colbert Danielsville Rd Danielsville, GA 30633 706-795-2868NOTE: Our adoptions are first come first served, simply filling out an application does not mean the animal will be held for you, you must come meet the animal in person in order to be considered for adoption. If you rent you must bring your lease or a letter from your landlord stating you may adopt.
