Story
❤️Meet Sweethearts Tate and Tucker❤️We can’t sugarcoat their story. Tate and Tucker are scared. They are sweet, gentle souls who desperately want to trust, but we don’t know what they’ve lived through or what kind of hell they may have known before now. What we do know is that they are trying. Desperately. These boys don’t jump on you. They don’t demand attention. They run from you.But if you sit quietly, offer a few treats, and speak in kind, soft voices, something beautiful happens. Slowly… timidly… they’ll come closer. And once that trust begins to form, they’ll reward you with the softest “thank you” kisses.🥹Tate and Tucker are both 1-year-old males, gentle in every sense, with so much potential. They will need a patient, understanding human... someone willing to show them that love can be safe and humans can be kind. They are not broken. They are not hopeless. They are worthy of love. The right home will change everything. Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Story
11/25 - Haggard is in a temporary foster home. Here's what we have learned about him so far. We haven’t learned too much yet, but here’s what we do know: he’s an incredibly loving puppy who adores playing, chewing (as puppies do!), and being near his people. He’s house-trained, does great in the crate, and will follow you absolutely everywhere—especially into the kitchen, where he likes to stand right under you while you cook. 😄He has a healthy appetite and knows how to sit, though he’ll pop right back up to give you kisses. He enjoys going outside but is quick to come back in so he can trail behind his humans again. He sleeps through the night without a single peep and insists on being a lap dog in the car. Haggard is a staff favorite. 9 months old, Labrador mix. He entered our shelter on November 6.Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. Story
🚨 Incredible Dog Alert! 🚨Y’all, meet Rex. This handsome hunk is housebroken, obsessed with sticks, and rocking the most gorgeous shiny, flat-coat-retriever-looking fur. This 3 year old fella is FUN.Rex comes in hot at first because he’s that excited to see a human who wants to play with him, but show him a ball or a stick and boom! Instant redirection achieved! Big sticks, little sticks, the perfect stick... watching Rex carefully select his stick of the moment is truly a joy.😃He’s good with other dogs, knows how to sit (especially if a stick is involved 😄), and has an absolutely joyful, happy spirit. Rex would make an amazing adventure buddy. He'd make a fun companion. Take him hiking, swimming, camping, or curl up with him on the couch after an entertaining fetch session at the park or in the yard. He may be a black dog… but Rex is pure gold. ✨🐾Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. Story
This is Annie Oakley the Rootinest-Tootinest Cowdog southeast of the Pacos. Annie is a four-year-old Labrador mix weighing approximately 45-50 pounds, boasting a coat that shines like a diamond. She is up-to-date on vaccines, spayed, and heartworm negative. Annie "O" is initially shy but blossoms into a loyal companion in a loving home, requiring patience to thrive. As her foster mother, I seek a kind and patient adopter. Annie is a unique individual who needs to learn that not all humans are mean and cruel, but rather that most hands are soft and comforting. Annie "O" walks well on a leash, knows basic commands, and is crate trained. She is dog selective and would excel as an only dog and an adult active environment, prefreably with a fenced backyard, where she can sniff and stroll. Annie "O" currently cohabitates with eight cats, with whom she plays without aggression. Should you be interested in meeting and adopting Annie "O", please complete your application through Dirt Road Doggies Rescue.   ##1342280##

Story
Meet Dobby — Delightfully Quirky, Endlessly Charming Dobby is a 1-year-old Lab mix bursting with personality, energy, and a whole lot of heart. He’s a little like that exuberant kid in class who’s still learning to sit still—full of curiosity, enthusiasm, and potential. This handsome boy absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive with an older, energetic canine companion to show him the ropes. While he hasn’t been tested with young children, he’s done great with older kids who can match his spirited energy and give him gentle guidance. Dobby is working hard on basic obedience and still learning where the boundaries are—but he’s making progress every day. He’s fully vetted, microchipped, and ready for a home that’s patient, playful, and committed to helping him grow into his best self. Could Dobby be the missing piece to your family adventure? ##2446052##
